Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 650: Chapter 649: What Kind of Game Setting is This?

Japan, Celestial City.

Thanks to modern technology, Fang Zheng and Yoshino didn’t take long to reach Celestial City. Although Elves could have flown directly, considering the emotional blow Yoshino had suffered, Fang Zheng decided to switch back to tourist mode, taking Ester and Yoshino on a spontaneous trip.

Because of this, Fang Zheng didn’t arrive in Celestial City immediately but instead toured the sightseeing spots across Japan with the two of them. Well, it was lucky that this world’s Japan hadn’t experienced the Fukushima nuclear leak; otherwise, Fang Zheng would have hesitated to eat Japanese rice.

However, Fang Zheng’s thoughtful planning wasn’t in vain. Initially, Yoshino appeared somewhat despondent, after all, she didn’t remember her past as a human. Perhaps that wouldn’t have been an issue, but thinking about how many people had died before their Spirit Crystals had entered her body, made her feel uneasy. Fortunately, the beauty of nature always serves as the best medicine for healing the wounds of the soul, and together with Fang Zheng’s persuasion, Yoshino was able to gradually come to terms with her emotional burden.

After this, Fang Zheng finally arrived at Celestial City.

Standing on a mountain and looking down, one could see that this city looked no different from any regular city. However, Fang Zheng was well aware that appearances are certainly not the most important aspect.

Luckily, Fang Zheng wasn’t unprepared.

”For now, let’s find Shido Gokawa first, and then see what kind of organization Ratastok is,” he said.

As he spoke, Fang Zheng released three Little Ding Dongs from his space—Fang Zheng should really be thankful that as a precaution, he had stored a variety of things in his personal item bar for emergencies. This way, even if something went wrong, he had sufficient resources to solve problems independently.

However, nobody’s perfect; Fang Zheng hadn’t anticipated that the system could crash and require a restart.

”Search for the target, begin surveillance!”

After giving the command to the three Little Ding Dongs, the three Star Spirit Observers by Fang Zheng’s side quickly activated their invisibility mode and flew up into the sky, heading towards the inner parts of Celestial City. After confirming that the three observers were in position, Fang Zheng nodded and then turned to Ester and Yoshino.

”Let’s go then.”

It must be said, the technology from Star Spirit Technology was indeed powerful. Fang Zheng had just checked the two young ones into a hotel room in Celestial City and hadn’t even had the chance to set their luggage down when one of the observers had already sent back a message of a target spotted. Upon receiving the message, Fang Zheng immediately opened his personal terminal, and soon, the image of a young boy appeared before Fang Zheng.

This boy looked to be about sixteen or seventeen with short blue hair and somewhat androgynous features, quite the uke type... If one were to put it that way, he resembled the male protagonists in harem anime that Fang Zheng had seen before. And at that moment, this boy was standing at a corner of a shopping street, selecting food.

Seeing this setup, another domestic omnipotent gentle human protagonist trope?

Familiar with this trope, Fang Zheng didn’t pay much attention to it but waved his hand towards Yoshino instead.

”Yoshino, how do you feel about him?” he asked.

”Mr. Fang Zheng... Who is this?” Yoshino asked curiously as she walked over and saw the blue-haired boy on the screen; Fang Zheng just smirked.

”This is our target, Shido Gokawa, the legendary person capable of sealing Spiritual Power. How about it, Yoshino? Seeing him, do you feel anything like fear, unease, or attraction?”

”......”

Yoshino watched the boy named Shido Gokawa intently for a while and then shook her head, replying softly.

”I don’t feel anything... special... Mr. Fang Zheng...”

Perhaps only a face-to-face meeting would evoke certain emotions?

Hearing Yoshino’s response, Fang Zheng pondered for a moment before shaking his head. At any rate, he first needed to find out exactly how Shido Gokawa could seal Spiritual Power.

Fortunately, it wasn’t a difficult task for Fang Zheng. The observers had detected electronic communication signals emanating from Shido Gokawa, and according to the direction of the signals, another observer quickly located a warship, invisible and hovering above Celestial City.

”I really didn’t expect this organization’s technological capability to be so advanced,”

Looking at the invisible warship appearing on the screen, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but feel amazed. He had already investigated this world and found that most of the technology was only about twenty or thirty years more advanced than his own world. However, twenty to thirty years clearly wasn’t enough to build such a quiet, pollution-free, and invisible massive airship... He had no idea how they managed it.

But Fang Zheng didn’t care; there were too many illogical things in this world, and he was too lazy to ponder why. For Fang Zheng, there were more important things to do than to worry about logic.

He used the observer to reach above the warship and began to infiltrate the information system of the warship itself. Although the skills used on this warship were not bad, alas, the synapsus black technology developed by Little Angel really devoured everything. Fang Zheng simply clicked the auto-crack button on his personal terminal. Thirty seconds later, he had silently bypassed the firewall and entered the internal database of the warship.

The first thing Fang Zheng looked for was information about Shido Gokawa and how exactly he sealed the spirits’ powers. Fortunately, finding this information was not difficult because the core database of the warship contained data on Shido Gokawa. By searching this name, Fang Zheng could access the records.

However, after reading the information, the only thought that Fang Zheng had was...

”What the hell is this?”

To be honest, if he hadn’t extracted this data from the core database himself, Fang Zheng would have thought these people created a fake document to mock him. The content was just too... bizarre!

According to the document, Shido Gokawa indeed possessed a method to seal the spirits’ powers, but this method required one thing — a kiss!

Not only that, just kissing wasn’t enough; the spirits’ affection towards Shido Gokawa had to reach a certain limit for the sealing to be effective; otherwise, even a forced kiss wouldn’t seal the powers.

”What kind of messed-up stuff is this?”

After reading the information, Fang Zheng almost flipped the table.

You’re playing a love game here, and there are even scores involved? Kissing to save the world? Wow, this reminded Fang Zheng of the martial hero novels he used to read, where the female protagonist always got hit by the villain’s hidden weapon, and coincidentally, the weapon always struck near her thigh.

And even more coincidentally, every time it required the male protagonist to suck out the poison... Damn, that was just too realistic!

Although Fang Zheng was reluctant to believe the authenticity of this data, the records stored inside the warship clearly documented the sealing process of three spirits. They were Shikou Yato, Yuzuru Yamai, and Kaguya Yamai. The video footage captured the entire process of the spirits being sealed, and thankfully, there were no particularly forceful or coercive actions during the process.

But when he thought about it, if one of the requirements for sealing spirits’ powers was affection, using forceful methods was bound to end badly.

But... this was just too funny.

After watching these video records, Fang Zheng didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, and he didn’t know what to say; the footage could be edited and sold as a harem comedic series. Furthermore, what shocked Fang Zheng was that, despite being in the real world, it still played out like a game, with Shido and the spirits going on dates that produced three options for selection... And funnily enough, the one choosing was not Shido Gokawa, the conqueror, but the staff aboard this airship? Are you kidding me?

Of course, funny is funny, but Fang Zheng had to admit he wasn’t quite fond of this method.

Admittedly, compared to DEM and AST, Ratastok’s method was gentler, but... Fang Zheng always felt this ”Let’s date to save the spirits and the world” approach was too utilitarian, and it felt like deceiving naive girls.

From the footage, Fang Zheng could pretty much deduce that the three spirits sealed by Shido Gokawa were much like Yoshino, meaning they lacked worldly knowledge and didn’t understand much about love. Shido Gokawa’s method was essentially seducing naive girls into kissing him.

As a man himself, Fang Zheng felt this was somewhat scummy. If you just say, ”I like this beautiful girl and want to date and kiss her,” Fang Zheng could accept that. After all, men can understand this kind of feeling.

But waving the banner of ”saving spirits and the world” to do such things... made Fang Zheng feel somewhat like you’re trying to act like a saint and a sinner at the same time.

A scumbag who deceives young girls’ feelings, even if heaven spares you, I won’t.

Looking at Shido Gokawa in front of him, Fang Zheng’s lips slightly curved upward.

Let me uphold justice and give you a lesson you’ll never forget!
