Chapter 649: Chapter 648 Beyond the Mountains and the Seas There Lies a Celestial City

After receiving intelligence about the elves from Kurumi, Fang Zheng immediately revised his plan. If before he had only planned to investigate the history of the elves, now Fang Zheng had modified his next task to assist Kurumi in eliminating the elf named Mio Suginomiya.

This time Yoshino also joined in, the little girl is a kind-hearted good child, and for this very reason, she is also unable to forgive Mio Suginomiya for her wanton trampling on the lives of others.

After the three of them reached a consensus on the big goal, what came next was to discuss the details.

”We have a few problems that need solving,”

Fang Zheng took a piece of paper and started to write and draw on it.

”We now know, spacequakes, elves, the key figure in all this is that woman named Mio Suginomiya. According to her, only she is the elf...”

As he said this, Fang Zheng wrote down Mio Suginomiya’s name on the paper and then drew a line through it.

”So for now, we need to conduct more investigation on her. Currently, we only know her name and what she looks like, besides that we know nothing. We need more information, Kurumi, do you have any other intelligence to provide?”

”Sorry.”

In response to Fang Zheng’s question, Kurumi shook her head—having given up her original plan after Fang Zheng pointed out the loopholes in it, she had started to follow Fang Zheng’s commands instead. Clearly, Kurumi had realized that to fulfill her wish, relying on this man was her best choice for now.

”I don’t know much about Mio Suginomiya either... Although after that, I tried to find Mio Suginomiya, she seemed to have completely disappeared, and I couldn’t find any information about her at all. However, in the information I got about the elves, there was a record of an elf with the code name ’Sister,’ supposedly the second elf observed in the Present Realm after the Primordial Elf. I think we might get some clues about Mio Suginomiya from her...”

”Can you find her?”

”I haven’t found any trace of her yet.”

Kurumi also sighed at this topic.

”I only know that she has probably been captured by DEM, but I don’t know where she is being detained. I have been looking for the location where Sister is being held this entire time, but I haven’t found anything.”

”DEM, huh... It seems they really are deeply involved.”

Hearing Kurumi’s answer, Fang Zheng fell silent for a moment, then he furrowed his brows.

”Is there any other intelligence?”

At this, Kurumi seemed to suddenly remember something.

”Come to think of it, before I met you, I was originally planning to go to Japan.”

”Oh?”

Upon hearing Kurumi’s response, a hint of curiosity and inquiry flashed in Fang Zheng’s eyes.

”Is there a lead?”

”I heard from an elf named ’phantom’ that there is a boy in Celestial City, Japan, who has a peculiar ability. His name is Shido Gokawa, and it is said that this male can Seal the Spiritual Power of the elves within his own body, turning them into ordinary humans.”

”Is that so?”

Upon hearing this, Fang Zheng immediately became interested.

”Can you elaborate a bit more?”

”I’m not very clear on the specifics, I only know that the boy seems to belong to an organization called ’Ratastok,’ like DEM, it’s an organization specialized in dealing with elves. But compared to DEM, Ratastok is a bit gentler. They seem to advocate resolving issues through dialogue with the elves... although I find it naïve, but if they hold that kind of trump card, then it is somewhat understandable. In fact, had I not run into you, I would have originally planned to devour the Sealed Spirit powers within his body.”

”.........”

But this time Fang Zheng did not speak, instead, he stared at the paper in front of him, silently wrote Shido Gokawa’s name on it, and then nodded slightly.

”......Is there a problem?”

Seeing Fang Zheng’s expression become serious, Kurumi and Yoshino also looked at him with gravity. Fang Zheng thought for a moment, then spoke.

”Kurumi, have you ever heard of a human who can absorb and seal Elf powers?”

”Not at all.”

Kurumi shook her head.

”For all these years, this is the first time I’ve heard of someone who can actually seal the power of an Elf.”

”I always felt there was something off about this Shido Gokawa.”

”Off?”

”Yes.”

Fang Zheng nodded again and then looked at Kurumi and Yoshino.

”Ever since I saw your past, Kurumi, I have been full of doubts about one thing—that is, why would Mio Suginomiya split her own power, bestowing it to humans, and transforming it into Spirit Crystals? What does this mean? If she wished to create her own subordinates, it’s evident that’s not the case, based on the current situation. It seems that all humans lose their memories as humans after transforming into Elves, not to mention you have the Tenth Bullet, Kurumi. If Mio Suginomiya really wanted subordinates, wouldn’t she just appear before an amnesiac Elf and recruit them?”

At this point, Fang Zheng spread his hands.

”But in fact, from all the Elf information in the Present Realm I’ve searched, all the Elves so far do not show any intention of acting as a group with Mio Suginomiya as their core. So why did Mio Suginomiya go to such lengths? Now, I have an idea.”

”You mean...”

”Mio Suginomiya turned you into Elves, yet this boy possesses a Physical Quality that can absorb the power of Elves. I don’t think this is a coincidence. After all, from your memory, Mio Suginomiya herself admitted that she is the Primordial Elf, and she is the only so-called Elf. So... this boy, who can absorb the power of Elves, I suspect he may have some connection with Mio Suginomiya. Otherwise, why out of billions of people on the planet, is he the only one with the ability to absorb Elf powers?”

Fang Zheng put down the pen in his hand, and at this moment Kurumi also began to think.

”Indeed, now that you mention it... there’s something really fishy here.”

”I suggest, we split up.

While speaking, Fang Zheng made a decision.

”Kurumi, you continue looking for the Elf associated with that Sister, and I will hack into the DEM corporation’s network to see if there are any clues. If you find anything, contact me immediately.”

”No problem.”

Kurumi nodded, then looked at Fang Zheng curiously and asked.

”And you?”

”I will head to Celestial City with Yoshino to find out what’s going on with this boy. It’s too dangerous for you to handle him since he has the ability to seal Elf powers. I am not an Elf; therefore, even if something happens, he won’t be able to seal my powers.”

Having said this, Fang Zheng stood up.

”Then, our goal is set... Our next stop is... Celestial City!”
