Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 637: Chapter 636: Everything is Under Control!

Fang Zheng was completely unaware that someone thousands of miles away was feeling conflicted for their sake, because he was preoccupied with the most important matter at hand.

That was the training of Yoshino.

After the first time travel to the Present Realm, Fang Zheng and Yoshino had gone through another two to three instances of time travel. Through this process, Fang Zheng had finally understood the principle behind the spirits’ travel to the Present Realm.

Simply put, the Present Realm and the Borderland were like the upper and lower floors of a building. Moreover, for some reason, the ”barrier” between these two worlds wasn’t sturdy, which meant when spirits were in the Borderland, it was akin to walking on a dilapidated plank of wood. Applying a bit more force could cause one to break through the plank and tumble down to the floor below.

This was also the cause of spatial shocks. Since no passageway existed between the two worlds, the way spirits entered was akin to punching a hole through the top floor and barging in. In such cases, the Present Realm, being the ”ground floor,” would naturally be affected. The space would fracture and become disordered, eventually leading to a spatial shock.

As for the instances Yoshino mentioned where one could travel without triggering a spatial shock, Fang Zheng had also encountered this situation afterwards and had subsequently unraveled its principle. If the travel that caused spatial shocks was due to spirits accidentally punching a hole in the spatial barrier, then the travels not causing spatial shocks were because the spirits found an existing ”hole” that linked the two worlds and jumped through it.

Since it was something that already existed, naturally it wouldn’t cause any spatial shocks.

After identifying the cause, devising a targeted solution became relatively straightforward... Since the occurrence of spatial shocks was due to the unstable power of spirits, stabilizing these powers so they wouldn’t affect the already fragile world barrier was the key.

That was the focus of Fang Zheng’s training for Yoshino.

At first, Yoshino was resistant to this. She was a very kind child. Precisely because of this, Yoshino didn’t want to use her power to harm others, and if possible, she didn’t even want to have such powers. But eventually, Fang Zheng convinced her.

”If you can’t control your own power, then a spatial shock is very likely to occur. Before this, no one taught you how to control your power, so it’s not your fault. But now, you need to buck up and seize control of your power. Yoshino, only by fully mastering your power can you protect yourself and prevent others from getting hurt. If you keep running away, you might find yourself in danger at some point, and at that time, your power, which is out of your control, could go berserk and harm others, which I presume is not what you would want.”

It was because of Fang Zheng’s persuasion that Yoshino finally resolved to train. After all, as Fang Zheng said, she was not interested in becoming stronger for its own sake. However, the thought that her uncontrolled powers could hurt others worried her greatly, and that was her reason for deciding to train.

It was only after training had begun that Fang Zheng truly understood Yoshino’s real power.

As a spirit, Yoshino could freely manipulate water and cold air. She could condense moisture in the air into ice and then unleash it in the form of an ice storm. What Yoshino could freeze was not limited to water; she could even freeze magic power, which was intangible.

Well, Fang Zheng had to admit, after realizing this, he had a rather dangerous idea.

If Yoshino’s power could freeze everything, then what if she were to freeze the blood inside an enemy’s body...?

All right, that topic was too bloody, and after hearing it, Yoshino would surely have nightmares, so better to drop it.

Besides, Yoshino also had an ”angel” named ”Ice Construct” (Zadkiel) that appeared to be a super-sized rabbit. When Yoshino summoned this angel, she could even use it as a foundation to launch a barrier made of rainwater and ice—simply put, to Fang Zheng it felt like a real-life version of an icy, barren wilderness.

```
However, just what are the elves of this world?
Fang Zheng always felt that there was something amiss. In his previous conversation with Zhenna, Fang Zheng had detected a contradiction—people from the Present Realm believed that elves were unknown life forms living in the Borderland.
But according to Yoshino’s statement, although she had been in this world since she opened her eyes, she had no memory whatsoever, except for her own name, her angel, and her power. Her brain was completely devoid of any memories about other things. She didn’t know what she was, where she came from, or what she was supposed to do. Therefore, for Yoshino, life could be said to be quite monotonous... because she herself didn’t know what she should be doing.
In other words, humans thought elves were unknown life forms born and raised in the Borderland. However, according to Yoshino’s statement, it was very possible that elves had also come to the Borderland from somewhere else. If we delve deeper into this, then there is another question: Why do humans think that elves live in the Borderland? Could it be that they had obtained information from somewhere?
It seems there is still much to investigate.
While observing the fluctuating spiritual power values on the screen before him, Fang Zheng pondered. Although the last world was insane, Fang Zheng was able to clearly distinguish who were enemies and who were companions; vampires and the remnants of the Third Reich were definitely enemies, using them as firewood was not an issue for Fang Zheng at all.
But in this world, who were his firewood... oh no, that is, who exactly were his enemies?
Elves?
Or humans?
After a brief observation, Fang Zheng found that compared to the last crazy world, neither humans nor elves in this world had reached the stage of being ”utterly wicked.” Both sides had sufficient reasons: the elves did not intend to create the spatial quakes, and the humans had to choose to attack the elves to protect their homelands. In such a scenario, finding someone to use as firewood... well, that was a bit difficult.
At least Yoshino and Mana Suginomiya did not fit the bill in Fang Zheng’s eyes.
However, Fang Zheng was not particularly worried. Generally, according to the nature of such worlds, there would definitely be evil magicians who wanted to try to use the power of elves or elves who had darkened and killed people due to attacks from humans... anyway, as long as he searched, using them to repair the system would probably not be a problem.
”Beep—!”
Just at this moment, suddenly, Fang Zheng’s portable terminal emitted a piercing alarm sound, and at the same time, not far away, Yoshino had also finished her training and ran over to Fang Zheng’s side. freёNovelFire-com
”... Mr. Fang Zheng...”
”I know, don’t worry.”
Seeing the anxious look in Yoshino’s eyes before him, Fang Zheng reached out and laid his hand on her shoulder.
”Remember, just do as we trained before, you can control it. You’ve done very well the past few times; I believe in you, Yoshino.”
```

”Mmm!!”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s words, Yoshino nodded vigorously. At the same moment, Fang Zheng felt the space around them, with Yoshino at its center, begin to distort again. It was as if someone was inflating a balloon named ’space,’ and once it reached its limit, the balloon would burst, triggering a spatial shockwave.

But this time, things were different.

As Yoshino spread her arms, Fang Zheng could feel the previously unrestrained expanding forces flowing outwards following her guidance. The ”balloon” continued to expand, but because there was now a place for the ”air” to escape, it didn’t burst immediately. Instead, the rate of spatial distortion began to gradually slow down, eventually stabilizing.

When Fang Zheng and Yoshino opened their eyes again, they had appeared in a small alley of the Present Realm.

”We succeeded......”

Seeing the ground around them showing no signs of spatial explosion, an excited Yoshino clenched her fists and whispered. Then, she turned toward Fang Zheng and hugged him.

”Mr. Fang Zheng! I did it!”

”Yes, you did great, Yoshino!”

Looking at the excited Yoshino in front of him, Fang Zheng also reached out to pat her little head, and Yoshino held on to Fang Zheng tightly, lowering her head.

”Thank you...... Mr. Fang Zheng...... Thank you...... If I hadn’t met you...... I probably couldn’t have done these things......”

”This is also because of your determination and effort. If you didn’t work hard yourself, then whatever I said wouldn’t have mattered...... Well, now that we’re in the Present Realm, let’s go explore the area first. As a reward for successfully mastering the spatial shock, do you have anything special you want to do? I’ll do anything I can for you.”

Upon hearing this, Yoshino couldn’t help but lift her head, looking at Fang Zheng.

”Really...... Anything at all, Mr. Fang Zheng?”

”Of course, anything you want, as long as I can do it. Do you have anything you want, or any place you’d like to visit?”

”I......”

While speaking, a blush suddenly appeared on Yoshino’s cheeks.

”I have just one small request, Mr. Fang Zheng...... I want to... you know... to kiss...... is that okay?”

”......... What?”

Upon hearing Yoshino’s request, Fang Zheng was caught off guard.

”Why would you ask for that?”

”Because...... I saw in the films that princesses seem so happy after they kiss, so......”

As she spoke, Yoshino shyly lowered her head. Meanwhile, Fang Zheng scratched his head, not having expected that taking Yoshino to a movie would lead to this scenario.

”But, Yoshino, didn’t I tell you before that such a thing should only be done with the most special person you like?”

”But I think, Mr. Fang Zheng, you are that most special person to me, the one I like the most......”

As she said this, Yoshino blinked her eyes again.

”I’m so grateful to Mr. Fang Zheng. You have been with me all these days, taking me to so many places. I like the restaurants, the amusement parks, and the Ferris wheel. Of course, I like Miss Ester too, but the one I like the most...... is still you, Mr. Fang Zheng. So I want to kiss...... you......”

Yoshino looked up, her big azure eyes anxiously gazing at Fang Zheng.

”Or is that...... causing you trouble?”

”Well.........”

Facing the teary-eyed Yoshino in front of him, Fang Zheng was at a loss for words. A kiss with a thirteen or fourteen-year-old girl? That seemed a bit criminal. But......

Fang Zheng was a gentleman! An upstanding gentleman! He wouldn’t let a lady cry!

Yes, even the law couldn’t stop him!

With that thought, Fang Zheng looked at Yoshino and then gave a slight smile.

”Of course, it’s no problem.”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng lowered his head and kissed Yoshino’s tender pink lips.
