Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 609: Chapter 608: Official Funds for Trips are for Freeloading Food and Drinks

Brazil, Rio de Janeiro.

”It’s my first time in South America.”

As he stepped off the plane, Fang Zheng looked at the exotic scenery in front of him and couldn’t help but remark.

”It seems we can have a good time sightseeing this time, let’s go, Ester.”

”Hey, wait, where are you guys going?”

Watching Fang Zheng getting ready to leave with Ester, the Mercenary Captain hurriedly spoke up. In response to his inquiry, Fang Zheng just waved his hand.

”Ester and I are going to stroll around and enjoy the scenery, leave that old bat and the poor thing in your hands, Mr. Captain.”

”Ah...”

Watching Fang Zheng and Ester walk away nonchalantly, Bernadotte was left speechless. He had also been ordered to accompany Fang Zheng and Alucard to Rio de Janeiro, South America, to find information about that mysterious organization. However, he hadn’t expected that they would part ways right after disembarking the plane...

But what could he do? He was also in despair!

”Ah...”

Sighing again, Bernadotte turned his head to look at Alucard who, wearing a black suit, was striding down from the plane... feeling at that moment that the future was filled with difficulties...

However, the unfortunate plight of the mercenary captain was certainly not Fang Zheng’s concern. In fact, at this moment, he had already exited the airport with Ester, casually picking up a tourist guidebook of Rio de Janeiro and starting to consider where to go and enjoy himself.

”Hmm... let’s first go see the Christ Statue, then visit Sugarloaf Mountain, and afterwards enjoy some local cuisine...”

After all, the British Government was footing the bill; one shouldn’t miss the chance to dine at public expense!

”Master.”

Just as Fang Zheng was outlining the travel itinerary, Ester, following by his side, suddenly spoke up.

”Someone is following us.”

”Let them follow.”

Hearing Ester’s warning, Fang Zheng responded without turning around. In fact, as soon as he had left the airport, Fang Zheng had already sensed someone tailing them. However, Fang Zheng didn’t mind. They had come here with a mission to bait a trap, and if the fish bit, it would be great for Fang Zheng. But even if the fish didn’t bite, it didn’t matter to Fang Zheng since his main purpose here was sightseeing and fighting. As for the investigation... weren’t Alucard and that mercenary still there?

After deciding the travel route, Fang Zheng immediately hailed a taxi and left the airport with Ester.

Not long after their departure, a pitch-black sedan silently started and stealthily followed behind Fang Zheng’s taxi.

It was the peak of the tourist season, and bustling crowds and noisy music were everywhere. Although Rio de Janeiro doesn’t look like a very modern city, it also has a unique charm. Fang Zheng was quite relaxed, strolling around with Ester. They first visited the famous Christ Statue in Rio de Janeiro, then went to Sugarloaf Mountain. As for investigating and searching, Fang Zheng didn’t even think about it—as he was currently on a date with a girl!

Business could always wait until after their date, right?

”Master.”

Just as Fang Zheng and Ester were leaving Sugarloaf Mountain, Ester suddenly stretched out her hand and tugged at Fang Zheng’s sleeve. Then, the silver-haired beauty extended her hand toward the roadside.

”What’s that?”

”Oh?”

Hearing Ester’s request, Fang Zheng followed the direction of Ester’s pointing finger and saw an ice cream truck parked by the roadside. Ester was staring intently at the ice cream displayed on it, clearly very interested in this type of food.

”Have you never eaten ice cream?”

”No.”

In response to Fang Zheng’s inquiry, Ester shook her head.

”In my world, only the Sword Dance Princesses can create ice and snow, but I’ve never seen them make anything edible with it.”

What on earth is a Sword Dance Princess?

Although curious, Fang Zheng didn’t ask further. He knew Ester came from another world and was not very familiar with many things in this world. However, Ester wasn’t some country bumpkin. Over the days they had spent together, Fang Zheng had realized that while Ester’s original world wasn’t a technological civilization, it wasn’t exactly a backward civilization either. At least, many modern creations exist there in similar forms.

Just like refrigerators, showers which in Ester’s world, were operated not by electricity, but by some sort of sprites... which was quite a different aspect.

”The weather’s nice for some ice cream.”

Fang Zheng lifted his head and glanced at the scorching sun before walking to the ice cream truck with Ester.

”What flavor would you like, Ester?”

”Hmm......”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s question, Ester gazed at the ice cream in front of her, pondered for a moment, and then pointed at one of them.

”That one.”

”Okay, please give me two vanilla ice creams.”

Upon hearing Ester’s response, Fang Zheng ordered two vanilla ice creams and then handed one to Ester. The Sword Sprite curiously moved closer to the ice cream, twitched her little nose as if a small animal was exploring a strange new food, and then stuck out her tongue to lightly lick it.

”Hmm....”

The next moment, Ester showed a somewhat satisfied expression and gently closed her eyes.

”How does it taste?”

”Very delicious.”

Although there was no change in Ester’s expression, her cheerful tone revealed that she really enjoyed the food. Seeing Ester’s happy expression, Fang Zheng nodded as well.

However, returning to the topic, what would Nymph say if she were here?

Thinking of his Little Angel, Fang Zheng’s mood sank again. He stretched out his hand to gently hold it, feeling the invisible chains wrapped around his right hand. Though the chain was still in Fang Zheng’s hand, he was unable to contact Little Angel through it and was clueless about the situation at the Heavenly Dao Palace...

”Master?”

Just then, Ester’s voice suddenly rang out again, and Fang Zheng looked down to see his Sword Sprite quietly gazing at him with her eyes open.

”Are you feeling unhappy?”

”Sorry, I was thinking about something. About my companions.”

Upon hearing Ester’s question, Fang Zheng showed a wry smile and then reached out to pat Ester’s little head.

”Companions?”

”Yes, you might not know yet, but before you, I also summoned a few spirits, hmm... However, due to some reasons, we’ve temporarily parted ways and lost contact. And so, I’m somewhat worried about them.”

While saying this, Fang Zheng looked down the street. It was twilight now, and he could see people frolicking on the beach in the distance, the cheerful music drifting with the wind, but it gave Fang Zheng a feeling as if he was in Another World.

No, it should be said that for Fang Zheng, this place was indeed Another World.

”...... I really don’t know when I’ll be able to return to the Heavenly Dao Palace....”

Fang Zheng whispered to himself, left exhausted by the nightmare in Anan World, now trapped in such a crazy place. He wanted to return to his own world, back to the Heavenly Dao Palace. Walking on the street, he could see the happy smiling faces of the Cursed Children, returning home to welcome greetings from Natsuse and Tina, a lively dinner with everyone, Tilia flirting with Black Katie behind his back, the Vampire and Nobiru creating a ruckus, with Fumie Busei playing the mediator... and occasionally, everyone would go out to the meadow for a picnic...

The most important thing was, for Fang Zheng, that was his home. fгeewebnovёl.com

At that moment, Fang Zheng felt a soft and warm body embrace him, and the next second, Ester’s beautiful, exquisite face appeared before him, dreamy and adorable like a Snow Spirit.

”Ester?”

”Master, I will always be by your side.”

Gazing at Fang Zheng in front of her, Ester spoke in a steady, clear voice.

”I am your Pact Spirit and will absolutely never leave you.”

”Thank you, Ester.”

Hearing Ester’s reply, Fang Zheng smiled as he touched her little head.

”Da Da Lada!!”

The sky was gradually darkening, but the noise of the music was only getting louder. Soon, along with the glowing lights, Fang Zheng saw a parade procession moving forward along the street, with excited tourists surrounding the floats, looking at the Samba dancers on the floats, whistling continuously.

The nocturnal festival of joy began.
