Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 614: Chapter 613 Facing the Consequences

A night had passed.

At this moment, Rio de Janeiro was no longer reminiscent of yesterday’s bustle and joy; instead, the sounds of police sirens and the wails of passing ambulances could be heard everywhere. Fang Zheng stood on the rocks, looking at the beach before him. The beach still had scattered groups of tourists, yet even they wore expressions of shock and surprise as they discussed the events of the previous night.

The once vibrant and bustling city now felt like a battlefield, with gunshots occasionally heard in the distance. Although the city wasn’t under martial law, the atmosphere in the air was exceptionally heavy and serious. Helicopters roared as they flew overhead, and armed police could be seen everywhere.

Just one day’s time had transformed the city into a completely different appearance.

”Sigh...”

Fang Zheng closed his eyes, taking in the oncoming sea breeze, and exhaled deeply.

”I might have been a bit rash... But the result was pretty good.”

As he recalled the battle from the previous night, Fang Zheng muttered to himself.

Although the system hadn’t recovered, because of reestablishing contact with the ”Zero Hour Resurgence,” Fang Zheng could naturally use the Power of Existence to rebuild the ”Seal.” In fact, aside from spending time with Ester, Fang Zheng had devoted the rest of his time to researching how to reconstruct the Seal.

However, unfortunately, since the source of data Fang Zheng used for constructing the Seal in the past came from the Soulstone, and the system hadn’t fully repaired, Fang Zheng naturally couldn’t access the Soulstone’s data. Therefore, he had to find another way, and he eventually chose another data source—the Primordial Fire.

With his experience in building other Seals, constructing the ”Black Soul World” wasn’t difficult for Fang Zheng, but he ran into a minor headache during the final stage.

That was concerning what kind of existence to manifest in the Black Soul World to fight alongside himself.

Fang Zheng’s Seal was a replication of data, so whatever he constructed had to comply with the data’s original ”setting.” This was like when he constructed the Farron Undead Legion; as the Lich King, Fang Zheng could command the Scourge Legion, but if he manifested the Burning Legion, the Lich King would be powerless against it.

Similarly, if Fang Zheng wanted to create a group of subordinates in the Black Soul World who would follow his commands, he had to manifest them according to the ”settings” of their hierarchical relationship.

However, within the Black Soul World, the only two entities representative of a group were the Abyssal Bishop Order and the Farron Undead Legion. Considering his own legacy, Fang Zheng naturally chose the latter.

But during the construction process, Fang Zheng encountered a small problem—the Primordial Fire was his soul, which naturally contained his memories. Meaning, Fang Zheng’s Soulfire’s memories of the Farron Undead Legion were mostly of the time after they had been corrupted by the Abyss.

If Fang Zheng simply manifested those Abyssal Watchers, it would probably result in having to fight them in the new world all over again... which would be pointless.

Ultimately, Fang Zheng’s solution was to infuse the Undead Squad’s ”model” with his own ”Fire of the Abyss,” so these Undead Soldiers would act using the Power of the Abyss provided by him, and naturally, they would obey Fang Zheng’s commands. Typically, given Fang Zheng’s usual temperament and character, he would test such a risky thing several times to be sure there were no hidden dangers before putting it to use.

But that inconsiderate woman had angered Fang Zheng, prompting him to use the Seal and the Undead Squad he was still testing without hesitation.

Although it was just a nightmare, it was the kind that Fang Zheng least wanted to experience. Even though he knew it wasn’t real, since the woman dared to touch his sensitive spot, she couldn’t blame him for not being polite.

As it turned out, Fang Zheng’s idea was sound; not only that, he discovered an unexpected benefit.

That was the Fire of the Abyss inside him, which had been difficult to control, now actually settled down after the battle!

But upon further reflection, Fang Zheng soon understood the reason—no matter how wild a person is, if you withdraw three liters of blood, they still have to lie down on the ground. The Undead Squad’s construction consumed both the Power of Existence and the Power of the Abyss. The Power of Existence was replenished through ”Zero Hour Resurgence,” and Fang Zheng didn’t mind it at all. The Power of the Abyss, however, came from the Fire of the Abyss...

Well, Fang Zheng didn’t mind that either.

Moreover, it seemed he had found a great way to ”vent” the Power of the Abyss in the future.

But... would things really develop as they did in the nightmare?

At the thought of that illusion, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but frown with a solemn expression. The Fire of the Abyss certainly had an effect on him; as of now, Fang Zheng had enough confidence to control the Power of the Abyss. However, he wasn’t sure he could keep it under control indefinitely. Perhaps this wouldn’t happen soon, but as time passed, maybe one day, he would become like that person in the illusion—irritable, enraged, like those who were contaminated by the Abyss, full of aggression... Was there no other way?

”Two tigers, two tigers run very fast, run very fast...”

Just then, Fang Zheng’s phone rang. Taking it out, he glanced at the number, and then picked up the call.

”Hello, the user you are calling is not in the service area, please leave a message after the ’beep’...”

”Fang Zheng, it’s me, Intagura.”

But before Fang Zheng could finish speaking, Intagura on the other end of the phone interrupted him.

”What’s the matter?”

”Alucard has already obtained the enemy’s intelligence, they will return soon, you must immediately head to the airport to meet them. This is of great importance and can’t be delayed.”

”I understand.”

Upon hearing Intagura’s orders, Fang Zheng shrugged his shoulders, but just as he was about to hang up the phone, he heard Intagura’s voice again.

”There’s one more thing...”

”What is it?”

”The riot that happened in Rio de Janeiro yesterday... did you do it?” fгeewёbnoѵel_cσm

”Yes, it was me.”

Faced with Intagura’s inquiry, Fang Zheng quickly responded.

”...Why?”

After hearing Fang Zheng’s response, Intagura asked in a low voice while Fang Zheng looked up at the beach in front of him and then began to answer.

”That was the choice they made, so they have to bear the corresponding consequences.”

Fang Zheng didn’t feel that he had done anything wrong. He had already given the other party a chance, but they chose to continue being his enemies. And since they chose to oppose him, Fang Zheng naturally wouldn’t let these guys off. So he chose the most direct and effective method—Alucard might not be able to do it, but for Fang Zheng, it wasn’t a difficult task at all.

After absorbing the firewood power of that tattooed woman, the powers of the Dragon Race and Zerg inside Fang Zheng were almost fully awakened. Now the only power still sealed was the Time Dragon’s power to manipulate time. But apart from that, the physical strength of the Dragon Race and Zerg had almost returned to Fang Zheng’s original level.

And this also meant that there was almost nothing in this world that could harm him now.

As a Giant Dragon, a Zerg leader, a Legendary Powerhouse, Fang Zheng had his pride. He had warned the other party, but they still chose to attack him. So they have to bear the corresponding consequences—in Fang Zheng’s view, this punishment was actually very lenient. If they really angered a bona fide Giant Dragon, then by now the entire city would have been completely destroyed by the Dragon Breath, leaving not even a single trace.

Even Alucard wouldn’t be able to stop him.

Fang Zheng knew that the upper echelons of this country must have unspeakable deals with that crummy organization. As for the content of the deals, Fang Zheng could guess by just thinking about it: that organization was researching Vampires and excelled at artificially creating Vampires. Thus, using this as leverage to entice those government officials was all too normal.

After all, countries like those in South America lacked status and influence in the world to begin with. They had neither the ambition to dominate the world nor the capability to do so. If second best, immortality was obviously their greatest pursuit at the moment.

If Fang Zheng only taught a lesson to their forces, it wouldn’t cause any harm to those Vampire lackeys. On the contrary, to show their loyalty, they would probably send even more people to die. That’s why Fang Zheng decided to take drastic action, all to warn those obsessed fools that if you continue, I won’t mind destroying your country completely.

Originally, Fang Zheng just hoped to make the investigation work of his people a bit smoother in the future. But to his surprise... Alucard had already succeeded?

Then hadn’t he wasted his effort?

After giving it some thought, Fang Zheng dismissed the matter from his mind. After all, what needed to be done had been done, and there was nothing more to say.

”......”

This time, Intagura was silent for a while, and eventually, she spoke.

”Your task is completed, I will send someone to pick you up, return immediately.”

”Received.”

To be honest, Fang Zheng had originally planned to turn South America upside down and unearth the lair of that organization. But now that Alucard has obtained the intelligence about the opponent, it’s time for him to withdraw for now.

After all, it won’t be too late to deal with them after figuring out their plans!

If at first Fang Zheng regarded dealing with that organization merely as a job, now, he had begun to harbor the thought of grinding them to dust.

After all, some people aren’t the sort you can provoke just because you want to!
