Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 611: Chapter 610: Taste This Eternal Pain!

”Aaaaah!!”

The flames erupted from the greatsword in an instant, swiftly spreading in all directions, and soon everything around was engulfed in a sea of fire. As Soren screamed and stumbled backward, her body was scattered with burning Mars, and the flames nearly wrapped around her tattoo-covered half. At the same time, the Illusion Space Soren had been manipulating shattered instantly, reverting to the original stadium.

”You, you bastard, you actually...”

Soren retreated in utter disarray, her face now distorted beyond recognition from the fire’s searing. Flames burst relentlessly from every pore of her skin, ruthlessly burning her muscles and flesh. As Soren continued to retreat, hundreds of ghoul soldiers appeared from the stands surrounding the stadium, weapons raised, aiming at the target in front of them.

”Since you’re so fond of war, then I’ll bring you war!!”

Fang Zheng’s mouth twisted into a cold smile as he looked at Soren. Horrified, she saw the flames surrounding him suddenly swell and then turn into whirling fire dragons that completely devoured everyone along with the stadium!

”Wah!”

As the fire tornado surged towards her, Soren quickly raised her hands in front of her body. But contrary to her expectations, she did not feel the onrushing flames and the heat she had anticipated. When she opened her eyes, what lay before her made Soren widen them in surprise.

Instead of the previous stadium, the sky was gloomily dark, the ground as if scorched was covered in ash, and everywhere there were various broken, rust-covered weapons. It seemed like an ancient battlefield; Soren looked up to see a black Sun on the edge of the sky burning.

What place is this?

For a moment, Soren wondered if she had entered an Illusion Realm. But after seeing the equally panicked ghoul soldiers behind her, she immediately dismissed the thought. She possessed powerful Illusion Technique abilities; however, those were just illusions created by the mind, but now... she felt as if she had really been transported to another world!

”Ready to die?”

The voice of Fang Zheng drew everyone’s attention again. When Soren looked at Fang Zheng once more, she was shocked to find that he was no longer in the suit she had seen him in before but now wore a strange set of armor. A bright red cloak billowed in the wind, and the greatsword in his hand burned with a bright fiery red glow.

”To tell the truth, I’m very upset right now, extremely upset...”

Fang Zheng’s voice was calm, but for some reason, everyone, including Soren, felt a chill in their hearts, as if a ferocious primordial beast had opened its massive jaws in front of them, preparing to completely devour these insignificant insects.

”So I’m sorry... I won’t let you die quickly. Your power, your bodies, your souls will all become my firewood...”

As Fang Zheng spoke, Soren watched in horror as his shadow gradually lengthened. Then, figures wearing the same armor as Fang Zheng emerged from the dark shadows, almost indistinguishable in form from Fang Zheng, except their eyes shone with a bright crimson light.

”But before that... you must be punished!”

”Boom!!”

Before the echo of Fang Zheng’s voice had faded, dozens of knights before him suddenly raised their greatswords, which then ignited with roaring flames!

”...........”

Soren watched in terror as the knights advanced, feeling her legs tremble. A powerful fear surged from deep within her soul. She was a formidable vampire, surrounded by hundreds of elite, armed ghoul soldiers bearing powerful weapons. Yet she felt not a trace of security. On the contrary, Soren felt as vulnerable as an unarmed prey facing a pack of wolves...

”Kill them.”

With a command from Fang Zheng, Soren saw those knights wielding greatswords, charging at high speed towards her and her ghoul legion. Overcome with extreme fear, the vampire shouted orders aloud.

”Attack! Attack! Turn them into fragments!!”

”Tatatata!!!”

At Soren’s command, the ghoul army raised their weapons and pulled the triggers at the knights approaching, bullets whistling in flight, sweeping forward. However, it posed no threat to those knights who, like wolves hunting their prey, quickly rolled aside to evade the ghouls’ first volley of fire, then with greatswords raised, pounced like hungry wolves into the crowd!!

”Swoosh!!”

The fire-lit greatsword slashed through the ghouls before it, severing them, as the crimson light of fire surged and began burning on the wounds. In the blink of an eye, the ghouls in front screamed as they transformed into flaming torches, scattering in agony as if unable to bear the pain. But these ghouls had just turned when the knights of the Undead Squad swung their swords, beheading them.

```
”What...what on earth is happening?”
Soren’s eyes widened with terror, her disbelief mounting as she took in the scene before her. The ghoul legion was the pride of their millennium—the assurance of strength in numbers. Though not as powerful as true vampires, theoretically, these ghouls should have felt no fear, nor pain!
For they were already dead! And the dead feel nothing at all!
Yet now, before these bizarre knights, the ghouls seemed completely outmatched!
The agility, strength, and fearless bodies of the ghouls were of no use against the knights. Soren watched as the knights strolled through the ghoul ranks as casually as if they were meandering in a garden. With a swift motion of unsheathing their swords, they cleaved the ghoul soldiers before them in two with ease.
One after another, the ghouls were consumed by flames. They howled and screamed as they were enveloped by fire, desperately rolling on the ground. But it was no use; the flames seemed to burn not just their bodies but also their long-dead spirits. All Soren could see were their agonized screams as they writhed, slowly suffocating, their flesh withering under the fire’s caress, turning to something akin to firewood, and eventually, along with the dying embers, all that remained on the ground was a heap of pitch-black ash.
Merging indistinguishably with the scorched earth.
I must get out of here!
At this moment, Soren finally felt an irresistible wave of fear. She had thought her mission was simple: arrive here, lead her ghoul legion to eliminate this persistent obstacle to their cause. Before this, Soren had even contemplated methods of torturing this Hellsing lackey, to teach them a lesson they wouldn’t forget. However, now she realized that she wasn’t the hunter tracking down her prey, but the prey being hunted!
Instinctively, Soren raised her right hand, pressing it to the ground again, trying to use her Illusion Technique. But as soon as she touched the ground, it felt as if she pressed her hand onto a red-hot iron plate! An intense pain seared through her palm, and Soren couldn’t help but cry out, lifting her hand immediately.
It was then that a voice whispered in her ear.
”There’s no escape...”
”It’s you!!”
Seeing Fang Zheng appear before her, Soren’s eyes widened with horror, but before she could make another move, he punched her fiercely in the face. The powerful woman toppled to the ground, and then he thrust his greatsword into her abdomen.
”Ooh...ah...ahhhhh!!”
At that moment, Soren couldn’t hold back her screams any longer. She could feel the scorching flames ”flowing” through every corner of her body along the sword, even ”clearly” sensing her blood boiling away in her veins as the fire spread unabated, searing her organs, muscles, skin, and bones along the way.
Of course, under normal circumstances, this process would be swift, but Fang Zheng deliberately slowed it to the utmost limit. Such that Soren not only could ”clearly” feel but also ”fully” experienced the excruciating pain of being consumed by Primordial Fire.
”No...no!! Get this cursed fire off me!!”
Soren watched in terror as her own body slowly shriveled up, her organs and fat being burned away to nothing, her skin charring to a black crisp in the flames. But she couldn’t die, she couldn’t even faint; a strange and terrible power bound her spirit, leaving her no choice but to endure the cruel and painful eradication alongside her body.
”No, please, no!!”
”Scream, scream all you want—no one will come to save you.”
Fang Zheng slowly twisted the greatsword in his hand, squinting to savor the wretched woman’s agony. The recent nightmare had left him quite displeased, and even though he knew it was just a dream, he was painfully aware that nightmares are dreaded because they reflect the realities one is reluctant to face. The Illusion he had been subjected to had realized his fears—a corrosive transformation into something monstrous.
Though it was but a dream, it had significantly soured his mood.
”Crack.”
Fang Zheng stepped on Soren’s charred left leg; accompanied by a horrific wail, the leg shattered into fragments beneath his boot, while she stared at him with bulging eyes, fixated in a death glare.
”Who in the hell are you? What are you...?”
”I’m not interested in talking to you.”
As Soren questioned him, Fang Zheng gave a cold snort. The next moment, under his willful guidance, the flames burned through Soren’s stomach and shot up her esophagus to her mouth. Soon, Soren’s voice faded; her vocal cords and tongue devoured by the fire. Eventually, even her eyeballs began to shrink and sink, tongues of flame licking around her eye sockets before swiftly converging to turn her eyes into hollow pits.
Before long, in Fang Zheng’s view, the woman in front of him had completely turned into burning firewood.
