Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 638: Chapter 637 I, Fang Zheng, am a Decent Person......

Although Fang Zheng had said he would kiss Yoshino, he certainly wouldn’t give her a mature kiss, so he merely touched her lips gently and quickly pulled away. In Fang Zheng’s mind, it was a bit too soon for Yoshino to experience an adult kiss, especially since she didn’t quite understand its meaning yet.

Therefore, a child-like kiss was more suitable for her, and for now, that was enough.

”Ah...”

Feeling Fang Zheng’s kiss, Yoshino blushed immediately, not knowing exactly what to make of the sensation. However, when Fang Zheng’s lips met hers, Yoshino felt her heart racing, and without looking, she knew her face was very flushed; this feeling was similar to the nervousness and unease she had previously felt when being watched by others.

It was similar... but different.

Back then, when she felt others’ gazes on her, Yoshino wanted to run away; she was afraid to interact and even more reluctant to stay. But now, it was different; touching lips with Fang Zheng, Yoshino felt as if a current zipped through her body, giving the young girl a strange palpitation.

She wanted to get closer to Mr. Fang Zheng, to hold him tight, to feel his warmth and heartbeat; only that could calm her down... In that moment, Yoshino had only this thought in her mind.

However, Fang Zheng’s kiss wasn’t as long as the ones Yoshino had seen in movies. He merely touched Yoshino’s lips briefly and withdrew in less than a second, which somewhat disappointed her. She had thought he might embrace her and kiss her like the knight in the movies...

Well, if Fang Zheng knew what Yoshino was thinking, he would certainly remind her about the difference in their heights.

Fang Zheng was about 1.8 meters tall, whereas Yoshino was only 1.4 meters...

For the two of them to kiss like in the movies... physically, that seemed a bit incompatible...

”How does it feel?”

Fang Zheng certainly noticed the fleeting look of disappointment on Yoshino’s face when they parted, but he wisely pretended not to see it. Although he didn’t place much importance on this matter, he did have his principles as a person. If Yoshino had had even a slight understanding of such things, Fang Zheng might have gone a bit further.

But Yoshino was completely innocent about affairs of men and women; Fang Zheng guessed that her only impression of such matters came from that movie, so he wouldn’t overdo things, in order not to seem like he was leading an ignorant girl astray...

”It’s, it’s strange...”

However, Yoshino’s disappointment was fleeting. When she heard Fang Zheng’s question, the young girl lowered her head and murmured softly.

”This is the first time I’ve felt this... but... I don’t dislike it...”

”That’s good, then let’s go.”

Upon hearing Yoshino’s response, Fang Zheng patted her head gently, then led Yoshino toward the exit of the alley. He didn’t want Yoshino to dwell too much on this matter. Honestly, Fang Zheng had met many children, but he had never encountered someone as pure and unblemished as Yoshino. The cursed children were merely naive, but they knew the basics of life, so he felt more at ease dealing with them.

But Yoshino was different; she had no memories, lived alone in the Borderland, and barely had any common sense, not knowing how to interact with others. This made Fang Zheng feel as if he were raising a daughter, even needing to re-teach the most fundamental values...

Due to the absence of a spatial quake, when Fang Zheng and Yoshino reached the street, it was still bustling as usual. This relieved Fang Zheng; after several connections through time travel, he had discovered that every country in this world seemed to have special forces to deal with space quakes and elves.

Initially, the magicians would attack Fang Zheng and Yoshino on sight, but after Fang Zheng had used Dragon Might a few times to ”instantly defeat” those magicians, they had learned their lesson.

After all, no one wanted to engage in a fight with an unbeatable enemy; that would only bring shame upon themselves.

Walking on the busy street, Fang Zheng and Yoshino admired the scenery on both sides, while he checked the signal on his terminal. Since arriving in the Present Realm, aside from taking Yoshino sightseeing, his goal was to find clues that would lead to some gains. He had already hacked into DEM Corporation’s computer database from his personal terminal and successfully obtained a lot of information.

For example, Fang Zheng knew that ”Elf” wasn’t the only Yoshino, so he hoped to find other Elves and exchange some words with them, perhaps gaining something valuable.

Of course, Fang Zheng also wished for the assistance of the native residents of this world, but unfortunately, he had left in such a hurry that he hadn’t noted down the phone number of the girl named Mana Suginomiya. Otherwise, if he could have contacted her...

”Ah!”

Just then, a girl rushed over from around the corner and bumped right into Fang Zheng, falling to the ground. Fang Zheng quickly stopped in his tracks and reached out to help the girl.

”I’m sorry, are you alright... um?”

”Ah, I’m fine, very sorry...”

While apologizing, the girl took Fang Zheng’s extended hand and stood up. She had a lively ponytail and a tear mole near her eye that left a memorable impression—um?

”So, I have something else to attend to, so...”

As she spoke, the girl was about to leave, but when she saw Yoshino curiously poking her head out from behind Fang Zheng, her expression subtly changed, and she stepped back.

”Hermit?!”

”This really is a strange coincidence, Miss Mana.”

Looking at Mana Suginomiya in front of him, Fang Zheng smiled slightly, while Mana stared at Fang Zheng, her eyes wide with surprise.

”Could it be... you’re Knight?!”

”What kind of nickname is that, both Yoshino and I have names... My name is Fang Zheng, and this girl is Yoshino.”

While speaking, Fang Zheng reached out his hand to Mana again.

”It’s really unexpected to meet you here, it’s been a long time, how have you been, Miss Mana?”

”Uh...”

At this moment, Mana Suginomiya became visibly nervous; she clenched her teeth, looking at Fang Zheng and Yoshino, unsure of what to say. Though logically, as one of the most powerful magicians of DEM, Mana should have attacked them right away, but since this was not a deserted area, any battle started here could harm innocent bystanders.

Not to mention... with the overwhelming formidable power of the Elf in front of her, even if Mana manifested her CR manifestation device, she likely wouldn’t fare well.

”What are you... doing here?”

”As you can see, we’re enjoying the exotic atmosphere, but it’s good timing that you arrived, Miss Mana...”

Saying this, Fang Zheng narrowed his eyes looking at Mana Suginomiya.

”I have some things I’d like to ask you, do you have a moment?”
