Chapter 602: Chapter 601 Sudden Attack

While Fang Zheng was enjoying a peaceful everyday life with Ester, a serious meeting was taking place within the headquarters of HELLSING at that very moment.

”So, Intagura, you mean to say that this series of vampire incidents didn’t just occur naturally?”

The man in a suit watched Intagura with a cold gaze, and Intagura nodded in response.

”That’s correct. Based on the autopsy results of the vampire corpses, we’ve discovered this within their bodies,” said Intagura as she raised her right hand, holding what appeared to be a chip.

”What is that?”

”A transmitter, or something similar. We’ve found these devices embedded in various parts of the vampires’ bodies. We suspect they can collect a range of information, including combat data and mental states, and then transmit it.”

”What?”

Upon hearing this, the people seated around the round table were instantly shocked.

”There’s such a thing!?”

”Yes,” Intagura confirmed with a nod.

”Moreover, we’ve encountered problems with the ghouls as well. As you should all be aware, ghouls are non-virgin males and females who have had their blood drained by vampires. However, after this series of incidents, we’ve investigated the identities of these ghouls and found that in these events, even the clearly virginal boys and girls had been turned into ghouls rather than vampires. Not only that, normally, when we defeat a vampire, the ghouls should naturally perish. Yet in the recent incidents, even when my subordinates targeted the vampires first... the ghouls continued to fight,” said Intagura.

”So, what you mean is...”

Listening to Intagura’s report, the faces of those present grew even more grave.

”The people or organizations behind this series of events are very familiar with vampires and ghouls, and I suspect they are attempting to experiment with the creation of artificially enhanced vampires and ghouls. The events we’ve encountered before are merely part of their trials!” Intagura clenched her fists as she spoke.

”This is a provocation to our British Empire... to our Puritanism! We cannot let this slide; we must find them and completely eliminate these bastards!”

”Boom!!”

However, before Intagura could finish her words, a dull explosion suddenly sounded from outside the window, causing everyone to be stunned. Intagura quickly pressed the internal communication button beside her and asked.

”What’s happened?”

”Master Intagura!”

Soon, a somewhat panicked voice responded from the other side.

”We’re under attack!”

”What?”

Upon receiving the response, everyone present was shocked.

”The enemy has already breached the main entrance! We are engaging them in combat!”

”The enemy? Who are they? How many are there? Report the situation!”

”The enemy is... ghouls! The number is unclear! We’re barely holding on!”

Ghouls!? How is that possible?

Shocked by this answer, Intagura, like Fang Zheng, had also considered the possibility of the enemy militarizing ghouls. But Intagura had not anticipated that the target would be HELLSING and that they would so brazenly launch an assault in broad daylight. How dare these bastards be so audacious? What exactly do they want to do!

”Organize the defense immediately! If we can’t fend them off, delay them. Also, notify Fang Zheng to return as fast as possible!”

”Yes!!”

Meanwhile, Fang Zheng, completely unaware of everything happening at HELLSING headquarters, was enjoying his everyday leisurely life.

”Huah... Buns are still the best. Even though there’s no soy milk custard, these pastries taste quite nice, definitely better than eating bread. If only the darn HELLSING place wasn’t so far away, I’d just ask Intagura if I can move out. If I found a place to live here, at least I wouldn’t have to worry about food every day... But finding a house nearby is probably not that easy...”

While speaking, Fang Zheng looked towards Ester at his side.

”Ester, how does it feel?”

”The food is quite peculiar.”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s inquiry, the silver-haired beauty replied expressionlessly.

”I’ve never had anything like it before; it’s quite fresh, and...”

While saying this, Ester extended her right hand, making the gesture of holding chopsticks.

”That strange utensil is also quite interesting.”

”I’m glad you like it.”

Watching the adorably clueless Ester beside him, Fang Zheng smiled and reached out to pat her small head. In fact, earlier in the teahouse, Ester seemed more interested in the chopsticks than in the breakfast itself. She appeared to really enjoy this simple and convenient eating tool, continuously trying to pick up all sorts of things with it, even applying her swordsmanship skills...

”Master.”

”Hmm? What is it?”

”Why are people on the street staring at me?”

”Because Ester is cute and very beautiful.”

Fang Zheng wasn’t lying; it was indeed the truth. Even on the streets of London, a girl as lovely and beautiful as Ester was extremely rare, not to mention her striking snow-white long hair that attracted even more attention. But, unfortunately, the kind of scene Fang Zheng imagined, where street thugs would hit on her, did not happen. At most, people would point or take a photo with their cell phones... Such things only seem to occur in urban fantasy novels and anime.

Hearing Fang Zheng’s reply, Ester looked up at him.

”Really? Master.””Of course.”

”In that case, there is something I wish to ask of you, Master.”

”Oh?”

Hearing Ester speak, Fang Zheng gave the girl in front of him a slight smile.

”What is it? If I can do it, then there’s certainly no problem.”

”It’s not really a big deal...”

At this point, Ester suddenly lowered her head, her gaze shifting uneasily as she looked at the ground, then softly began to speak.

”In my world, formalizing an Elf contract involves a very official ceremony, which I have yet to conduct with you, Master.”

Is that so?

Startled by Ester’s reply, Fang Zheng paused for a moment. But after thinking it over, it made sense. Although he didn’t know exactly what world Ester came from, it appeared to host Elves in human form, which suggested that a very formal ceremony was indeed necessary for signing a contract.

”So what exactly is this ceremony...”

”It is...”

”Ding-dong dang...”

Before Ester could finish her sentence, suddenly, the ringtone of the cell phone sounded, and Fang Zheng sighed helplessly, picking up the phone to answer the call.

”Hello? Yes, it’s me... What?!”

Hearing the information coming through the phone, Fang Zheng’s expression subtly darkened, then he set down the phone, turning to look at Ester.

”Ester.”

”Yes, Master, what is it?” freewёbnoνel.com

”It seems our date will have to be postponed; someone’s come to cause trouble.”
