Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

After making sure Yoshino had taken refuge at a safe location, Fang Zheng approached the battle scene.

As Fang Zheng turned the corner, he quickly saw an intense battle unfolding in the parking lot on the other side.

One side of the battle were the magicians wearing that Seltin armor, bombarding the parking lot with their weapons, and in the midst of the artillery fire, a shadow moved through like a ghost and then lightly landed on a nearby lamppost.

”What’s the matter, Magicians? Is that all you’ve got?”

As the gunsmoke cleared, a girl appeared there. She was a beautiful girl in a one-piece dress mainly red and black, with her hair tied into uneven pigtails on either side. Her left eye was obscured by her bangs, revealing only the faint smile in her bright red right eye.

”I really didn’t expect you to discover my presence. I thought I could rest for a while longer, but since you’re here, there’s nothing more to say.”

As she spoke, the girl raised both hands, holding two old-fashioned firearms adorned with ornate decorations. Seeing the girl’s movements, the magicians flying in the sky quickly took action, launching another attack on the girl. In response, the girl shot back while swiftly fleeing toward the street next to her. From her effortless demeanor, it was clear that these magicians were not causing her any harm.

That was to be expected, though; while magicians possess strength beyond ordinary people, elves are non-human beings. It’s like sub-dragons and giant dragons; both might be able to instantly kill a human, but that doesn’t mean they are evenly matched.

Among these magicians, Fang Zheng did not see Zhenna’s figure. Perhaps she had left the city, otherwise, she would definitely have shown up.

”Block her! Surround her! Don’t let her escape!”

However, the magicians seemed completely unaware of this, even splitting up to attempt to encircle the elf from behind. But the elf, unlike Yoshino, did not just try to flee; instead, she moved through the barrage and smoke with such ease and grace as if she was dancing in a ballroom.

But Fang Zheng knew what she planned to do. In fact, faced with such a situation, he would have made the same choice. Rather than let these pesky spirits endlessly follow him, it was better to knock them all down in one go.

However... did this girl have that kind of power?

”Boom!!”

The sound of an explosion rose again, and the girl stopped in her tracks as the magicians had blocked all her escape routes from all directions.

”You have no way out!!”

Soon, the leading magician declared loudly to the girl and then raised the weapon in her hand.

”Prepare for Death’s Embrace!”

Accompanied by these words, the other magicians also raised their weapons, aiming once more at the girl in front of them. But they did not see fear or unease on the face of the girl; instead, her lips curled into a slight, cold smile.

”Hehehe... you really are unlucky. If it had been another ’me,’ you might’ve had a chance. But who asked you to stumble upon ’me,’ huh?”

The girl’s speech was somewhat eerie, making it somewhat puzzling to those listening. However, the girl didn’t care; she just narrowed her eyes and let out a light chuckle.

”But after all, karma is retribution, and since you’ve come here, you can only lament your own misfortune!”

As she spoke, the girl raised her right hand high.

”Come forth... Chronos!”

”Click!”

Accompanied by the girl’s voice, a giant golden clock face appeared behind her, and those Magicians were clearly shocked at the sight of the enormous timepiece manifested behind the maiden.

”Attack, attack now!!”

Although the Magicians did not know what the girl planned to do, the mere revelation of an Elf manifesting an Angel was enough to fill them with extreme tension. Thus, promptly following the command, the Magicians launched another attack on the Elf before them.

The battle continued, but at that moment, Fang Zheng wasn’t paying attention to it. Instead, the instant the girl manifested the Angel, a strange feeling suddenly surged within him.

He yearned for her!

Indeed, the Elf maiden before him possessed dazzling beauty and form, attributes enough to attract the male gaze and provoke an impulse to claim her. But what emerged from Fang Zheng’s heart was not mere male conquest and desire for a female.

Rather, it was mostly like a fervent gamer stumbling upon a legendary rare collectible game disc that had ceased production, or an otaku seeing a limited edition figure, one of only ten in the world, placed before him—or like an antique collector beholding an exceptionally rare and coveted ancient relic—the longing and desire were immense!

This woman is mine! She must be mine! I’m staking my claim! No one will contest with me! I dare anyone to try—I’ll be furious!

”Out of my way!”

By the time Fang Zheng snapped back to reality, he had already roared and leaped from the corner, and quickly, flames burst forth around him, once again forming armor. At the same time, a pitch-black Greatsword emerged from his right hand, with dark thunder leaping along the blade. Then Fang Zheng raised the Greatsword and swung it forward!

Call forth the Lightning of Death!

”Boom!!”

With a deafening roar of thunder, countless streaks of black lightning descended from the sky, transforming into wild, rampaging serpents of electricity. Those Magicians had not anticipated a surprise attack from behind, and they were sent flying by the thunderous lightning, crashing heavily onto the ground, silenced.

With just a single strike, Fang Zheng easily overpowered all the Magicians present. The sight clearly astonished the Elf maiden; her eyes widened in surprise as she turned toward Fang Zheng and then revealed an elegant smile.

”I really didn’t expect to meet you here... Are you the rumored Knight? Such formidable strength... I never thought I’d need someone else’s help. But... no matter what, thank you.”

”No need for thanks. In fact, I saved you because I have my own purpose.”

As Fang Zheng spoke, he walked toward the Elf maiden, flames emerging from him once more before the armor disappeared. By the time Fang Zheng reached the Elf maiden, he had returned to his original attire.

Watching Fang Zheng approach, a hint of nervousness flickered in the girl’s eye, yet her face retained its gracious smile.

”So, may I ask what is your purpose, Mr. Knight?”

”Very simple.”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng seized the Elf maiden’s hand, gazing into her crimson eyes.

”From today onward, you belong to me.”

”...Huh?”
