System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

But Xie Xiao managed to seamlessly integrate several techniques Lu Cheng had developed.

The nerve and blood vessel suturing techniques can be applied in Spleen Preservation Surgery, and even proposed an additional surgical layer on top of the Spleen Preservation Surgery, which is the Spleen Function Reconstruction Surgery.

Functional reconstruction surgery in hand surgery is based on limb preservation surgery!!!!

Preserve the limb first, then you can have functional reconstruction in hand surgery. If it’s amputated, what’s the point of discussing?

”So, Xiao Lu, there’s no conflict.”

”Although I’m just in hand surgery.”

”But clinical hand surgery will always exist, there’s no reason why functional reconstruction surgery can’t exist.”

”Right?” Xie Xiao smiled modestly, but also with a bit of mischief.

Xie Yuan’an was already confused by Xie Xiao’s words, while Mu Nanshu was only half-understood, so he turned to ask Lu Cheng’s opinion.

Lu Cheng quietly replied: ”Teacher Xie’s meaning is that the Hand Surgery Functional Reconstruction Surgery is about optimizing motor function based on the limb preservation surgery in hand surgery.”

”But Professor Xie also mentioned that limb preservation surgery and Spleen Preservation Surgery are equivalent, so what’s equivalent to hand surgery functional reconstruction is spleen function reconstruction.”

”When we consider the scope of the topic and the dimensions Professor Xie considers, there’s a gap of several levels.”

”Of course, Professor Xie’s point is that although hand surgery is an elective condition, in clinical settings, not only hand surgery is elective, but general surgery and cardiology have elective conditions too.”

”There are countless patients with impaired spleen function with no place to turn for treatment, not even a single outlet for release.”

”Teacher Xie, is my understanding correct?”

Xie Xiao nodded: ”Lu Cheng, you’re a smart person, you catch on quickly.”

”But one thing you didn’t mention is that you have to refer to what other surgical technique we have in hand surgery?”

”It’s called the Nerve and Tendon Transposition Surgery.”

”The essence of this technique is the ectopic pathway of functional conduction. It’s particularly suitable for the functional reconstruction of visceral organs.”

Xie Xiao did not directly praise Lu Cheng, but rather directly pointed out Lu Cheng’s cognitive shortcomings.

Lu Cheng said: ”Nanshu, give Professor Chen Song a call and ask him to join us for dinner.”

Mu Nanshu was slightly puzzled.

But after Lu Cheng insisted on his expression, Lu Cheng said: ”Teacher Xie, I admit that your idea is very correct, but I can’t discern whether it’s metaphysical.”

”So, I need to consult my teacher. Teacher Chen is my guiding mentor.”

Lu Cheng spoke frankly.

And made clear to Xie Xiao who Chen Song was.

Xie Xiao’s voice was earnest yet teasing: ”One of them.”

”The things after that, he won’t.” Xie Xiao’s words were even more direct.

Lu Cheng didn’t refute Xie Xiao.

After all, Chen Song had just been promoted to a professor; he used to be just an associate professor, what does he know about ’guidance’ and research topics?

Of course, in a horizontal comparison, Lu Cheng actually understood even less about research!~

When Chen Song answered the call, he initially refused directly.

But after Mu Nanshu said a few more words, Chen Song agreed to come.

By the time Chen Song arrived, Lu Cheng and the others had already started eating. Chen Song had already had a boxed meal, and after a courteous exchange, he said: ”Teacher Xie, I’ve already had a boxed meal, so I’ll just join you for a bit.”

Xie Xiao’s eyes sparkled and immediately took Chen Song seriously.

What Chen Song meant by having eaten was not just having a meal, but he had absorbed Lu Cheng’s learning. No nonsense talks for him as he claims to be full.

Xie Xiao said: ”Three meals a day, moving your chopsticks a few more times won’t overeat you; how many times do you eat in a year anyway?”

Before Chen Song could react, Xie Xiao added: ”What you ate before and what you’re eating now must have some difference.”

”Is the food not to your taste? Do you want to order a bit more?”

What did you eat? In practical terms, it’s takeout or a boxed meal.

And what are we eating?

If not considering quality, as long as there’s rice, you won’t starve, you can survive a day on one dollar, can’t you?

We’re talking about the future.

Chen Song immediately realized that the ”technology” he obtained from Xiang Dongshan was nothing, he wasn’t someone to lead the major scheme, and couldn’t compare with mature professors like Xie Xiao.

Chen Song said: ”Teacher Xie, perhaps you should just talk with Lu Cheng, I’m not well-versed in these matters either.”

”No need to add more dishes, it’ll just be wasted if we can’t finish it.”

Chen Song’s words didn’t have further implications.

Xie Xiao continued with Chen Song’s cue: ”We are three families sitting here, originally supposed to be four families.”

”But since Xiao Lu and Xiao Mu have a good relationship, they’ll soon be a family.”

”Parents are parents, your own family is your own family, you can’t do without parents but something will always be lacking.”

”On the contrary, everything a person experiences is what constitutes his own life, including the joys and sorrows.”

Neither Lu Cheng nor Mu Nanshu understood this perfectly, and even Chen Song only half understood: ”Teacher Xie, I’m wrong, perhaps you should just talk directly.”

Xie Xiao earnestly said: ”The head of your department isn’t your father, how filial can you be? Right?”

Being a professor and leading a group in a top institution is not for the faint-hearted!

Lu Cheng quickly said: ”Teacher Xie, I’m not sure if my understanding is correct, but you mean.”

”Your research group wants to collaborate with our research group, but the scope of the collaboration includes but is not limited to hand surgery functional reconstruction?”

Xie Xiao earnestly smiled: ”Correct, to be more precise, it’s the functional reconstruction department!~”

”Our hand surgery originally didn’t exist, but developed based on limb replantation.”

”Therefore, functional reconstruction surgery should also develop from nothing.”

”That’s my personal thought.”

Lu Cheng looked at Chen Song, whose chin was now almost touching his chest: ”Xiao Lu, don’t look at me, I’m just a novice. Even entering the chopping block, I have to wait for the fish.”

Chen Song realized that he and Xie Xiao were not on the same level.

He was just aiming to become a better professor, to be a master within the existing framework, but Xie Xiao was not just thinking about establishing a new school!

He wanted to single-handedly carve out a unique path.

Could this be a topic on the same level?

Lu Cheng was bewildered for a moment…

Even now, Xie Xiao could propose things he’d never considered.

This world has so many talented people, just one Xie Xiao, and it’s beyond extraordinary.

Lu Cheng cautiously asked: ”Teacher Xie, how about we take it a bit slow? Step by step?”

Xie Xiao said: ”Of course, it has to be step by step, the first step for you, Lu Cheng, is to free yourself, then you can free the patients, free the research topics, and free the constraints and frameworks of clinical practice.”

”But the path has to be accurate, and the direction has to be refined.”

”You don’t have to worry that I will take advantage, there’s enough advantage here to fill everyone sitting here to the brim and still have plenty left over.”

”Although I’m a bit chubby and might have a big appetite, I’d still be overwhelmed.” Xie Xiao decisively concluded.
