System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

The rescue room in the emergency department during the day shift is really quite leisurely when it’s slow.

After all, only traumatic, life-threatening conditions are handled by the surgical group in the rescue room; the rest are handled by the internal medicine group.

Lu Cheng was quite lucky, so he spent the morning reading.

But before long, a brother from the internal medicine group brought in another brother.

This brother had good looks, was gentle in appearance, quite tall, just a little inferior to Lu Cheng.

”Thanks for your hard work, Dr. Xiang.” Dai Linfang politely thanked Xiang Xiaonian from the internal medicine group.

Xiang Xiaonian was the attending physician in the internal medicine group, still very young, just on a regular shift in the emergency rescue room’s internal medicine group.

”I’ll head over now, Dr. Dai.”

”If there’s anything, contact me on WeChat.” Xiang Xiaonian was really busy, and after leading Dai Linfang to the office, she quickly left.

But before she left, she didn’t forget to take one greedy look at the two handsome guys, Lu Cheng and Dai Linfang.

Lu Cheng recognized from Dai Linfang’s voice that he was the oncology doctor who called him last night.

”Brother Dai! It’s me, Lu Cheng.” Lu Cheng did not shy away but courteously invited him to sit down: ”This rescue room’s break room is quite small, please make yourself comfortable while I get you a cup of tea.”

The guest is a guest, no matter what, he is still a colleague from the hospital.

Dai Linfang first closed the door of the break room: ”Brother Lu, no need to be so polite, I came in a hurry and might be a bit presumptuous.”

Lu Cheng, who got up, smiled and said, ”No, no, Brother Dai, I’m happy you could come, maybe I have gained a new friend. I do love making friends.”

”Brother Dai, you look so young, am I calling you too old?”

Dai Linfang said, ”I’m a year younger than you, Brother Lu, I really am. I just graduated not long ago.”

Dai Linfang told Lu Cheng about his identity, and he was actually a Ph.D. holder.

”Dr. Dai, nice to meet you.” Lu Cheng extended his hand.

Dai Linfang, indeed a polite person, after introducing himself again, started explaining earnestly: ”Brother Lu, you don’t know, the reason I came here is because I got sabotaged when interviewing at Xiangya.”

”Ran into an absolute tough nut, I was really down on my luck.”

”That was a formidable person, with SCI publications and project participation rates that eclipsed mine. I had an agreement with a professor there, even my mentor spoke to him, but then...” Dai Linfang flipped his palm, feeling quite helpless.

After hearing Dai Linfang’s description clearly, Lu Cheng also felt that Dai Linfang was quite pitiful.

Not to mention his background, a Master’s and Doctorate from Zhongnan University Xiangya Medical College, except for the non-eight-year-system super exam talents, all other educational credentials were maxed out.

He had overseas experience, SCI papers, mentors, background, and connections.

But he was taken down by a ’background novice’.

Turns out, the other guy was a ’genius’ from Kyoto Union Hospital’s general surgery department, who felt he couldn’t survive in Kyoto and had a poor family, so he ran back to Sha City.

Once his resume was submitted, Dai Linfang’s mentor and the department director didn’t dare refuse him.

Naturally, love for the talent was genuine.

Dai Linfang was abandoned by his mentor, also had no choice but to give up, nothing could be done.

Lu Cheng could understand Dai Linfang and said, ”Then Brother Dai, why didn’t you consider trying other units?”

Besides Xiangya Hospital, there are also the Second Hospital and Third Hospital.

”I’m not that outstanding. Without relying on my mentor, getting into Xiangya Hospital was a bit of a stretch. I was somewhat depending on being sensible, hoping to serve my mentor.”

”Currently, my file has come to Xiangzhou People’s Hospital, and going back is almost impossible.”

”So, there’s no way, I can only take on projects by myself.”

”But you know, this damn place, I, damn it, wanting to find a lab, I have to pay for it myself. My cells, all come from my mentor’s place.”

”Our department director? Constantly exploiting me, wanting me to work for him.”

”I haven’t even managed to settle my own side yet, and the hospital, the medical college there wants to load me with various tasks and titles, I’m really in a tough spot.” Dai Linfang’s voice was sincere.

Lu Cheng earnestly looked at Dai Linfang for a while and thought this might be what it’s like for Mu Nanshu going back to work in a municipal hospital.

The department director wants to take advantage of you, the higher-level leadership wants you to hold up appearances, and the higher-up departments need you to provide educational data...

”Brother Dai, I can understand you, but? I really have no authority.”

”You also came out from Xiangya Hospital, you see.”

”I, Lu Cheng, am an attending physician in the emergency department. Does that count for anything???” Lu Cheng flipped his hand and spoke honestly.

Dai Linfang said, ”Brother Lu, I know you have your difficulties, but it’s not that I’m asking you to get me in, I just want you to fight for a chance for me.”

”Actually, my mentor is familiar with Director Tan from hand surgery and the emergency department’s director at Xiangya Hospital. He inquired for me, and this is the opportunity my mentor provided.”

”But my mentor can only provide information because it’s crossing specialties.”

”How about this, Brother Lu, I thought about it all night, I volunteer myself, can you take my resume over?”

”After all, I’ve been involved in a few projects, asking me to help write some data is fine, let me create a team atmosphere, can I?”

”Here, damn it, it’s impossible to produce projects fighting alone.”

”I thought our department’s people would really help with the projects, only to find out each one is a slacker, if I didn’t bring out the person behind me, I might have been eaten by them.”

”Of course, there are benefits to bringing them out, I have plenty of time now, I feel very free!~” Dai Linfang said.
