System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

”It’s been almost ten times, right? Mainly because there’s no better series to watch at the moment, so just watch what you’ve got?” Mu Nanshu, dressed in pajamas and a robe, held a remote control in one hand and milk tea in the other.

”Today, Professor Chen Song came to see me. He said our animal experiment data is almost complete, and we can use this data to apply for clinical trials.”

”It won’t be long before the approval for the first phase of clinical trials is granted. Then you can start working on the spleen preservation surgery.”

”As for tendon suturing, although Professor Tong and his team started the project a bit later, they’ve collected data even faster.”

”Maybe tendon injuries don’t impact a patient’s life, so the clinical project for tendon suturing technique has already passed approval,” Mu Nanshu said.

Lu Cheng’s tone heightened: ”The clinical trial for the tendon suturing technique has been approved??”

Tong Yuan’an was ”resting” with Lu Cheng, although they didn’t go on vacation to Feng County together, they happened to cross paths.

How many days has it been?

Mu Nanshu said, ”Judging by the power wielded by the person behind them, it seems that the big boss behind Professor Tong might be more skillful.”

”Tong Yuan’an’s teacher is an old professor, he’s just aged, but his connections are still there, stronger than those of the younger professors.”

”That’s even better. Lately, I’ve gotten so bored I’ve started seeing things.”

”Professor Tong means you go to Long County, and he goes to Feng County, for a relatively small-scale multi-center clinical trial.”

”Sure! No problem on my end.”

”Regarding the procedures for collaborating on a clinical project with Long County People’s Hospital, will you handle it, or should I take care of it? I can make some time in the next few days,” Lu Cheng promptly responded.

Mu Nanshu has helped me a lot.

Suddenly, Mu Nanshu’s tone turned wistful, ”I said, Professor Tong has already completed all the procedures for the clinical trial.”

”This time, among the bids for our projects, only the vascular suturing and spleen suturing passed.”

”The tendon suturing technique you first developed didn’t win the bid. The project on neural suturing technique I hosted also didn’t make it.”

Lu Cheng had a total of four technique projects, with Lu Cheng, Mu Nanshu, Tong Yuan’an, and Chen Song as the hosts.

No surprise, the projects managed by Tong Yuan’an and Chen Song were approved smoothly, while the bids submitted by Lu Cheng and Mu Nanshu were dismissed.

Lu Cheng said, ”What about E Province?”

Mu Nanshu had also submitted a bid to E Province.

”It passed,” said Mu Nanshu.

”Got it, I understand.” Lu Cheng explained, ”You’re protected by local preferences, whereas I lacked any foundation.”

At this point, Lu Cheng added, ”Book Bag, do you think it’s possible that because I’m listed on both Chen Song’s and Tong Yuan’an’s projects, I can’t apply for projects independently anymore?”

Mu Nanshu said, ”The rule is like that. But don’t you also have your own host project? Hosting one and participating in another is not bad, right?”

”However, the Provincial Science Fund Committee prefers you to participate in two. They believe more in Tong Yuan’an and Chen Song to deliver the project.”

”That’s the advantage of having a track record.”

Lu Cheng said, ”In that case, it doesn’t matter... I’ll call Professor Tong and ask him when the clinical project can officially start...”

Lu Cheng acted immediately.

Tong Yuan’an’s side gave a clear response, that Lu Cheng could start anytime. The current procedures have all been completed.

Furthermore, even with the animal experiment-related projects, tendon suturing could barely yield a paper, but whether to publish now is up to Lu Cheng.

Tong Yuan’an’s idea was to wait, so they could publish together with the clinical trial data, aiming for a journal in the top tier with an impact factor of seven or eight.

Lu Cheng sought Mu Nanshu’s opinion, and Mu Nanshu thought Tong Yuan’an’s consideration was better.

As the project is about tendon suturing technique, it’s naturally impossible to exclude Xie Yuan’an, who clearly expressed his willingness to collaborate with Union Hospital.

Even though the project was initiated in E Province, data collection could still take place in county hospitals in Xiang Province, which wasn’t restricted.

Xie Yuan’an quickly arrived upon hearing the news.

Upon reaching the neighborhood, Xie Yuan’an immediately showed Lu Cheng the results of her practice, in the form of operation videos, as well as ”data collection” from the laboratory!

”Lu Cheng, with my current level, there’s no problem carrying out a clinical project in Long County, right?” Xie Yuan’an asked.

”Almost, but this suturing technique isn’t suitable for most tendon sutures. Can you handle other tendon suturing techniques?”

”You’re surely familiar with the indications for different tendon suturing techniques, Teacher Xie?” Lu Cheng complimented while asking.

Lu Cheng’s immediate praise prompted Xie Yuan’an to respond, ”I’ll learn it right away!”

Afraid that Lu Cheng would underestimate her, Xie Yuan’an added, ”The hospital we were at before focused more on nerve-related issues and flap, vascular transplant surgeries.”

”Tendons are a smaller category, just need basic knowledge.”

”And tendon transfer and tendon suturing are relatively different surgical techniques requiring completely different skills.”

”But I can learn it.”

In summary, Xie Yuan’an had her reasons for not mastering tendon suturing, but she was willing to learn.

Lu Cheng pondered for a moment and said, ”I suggest you understand it more thoroughly.”

”Afterwards, I won’t be there every day, but whenever I’m free, I’ll come over to perform some surgeries.”
