System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

The interviewers from Feng County said: ”Director Liu, the leader in charge of publicity in our county expressed that we will send a thank you letter to Dr. Lu. We truly appreciate Dr. Lu’s assistance during the emergency.”

”After the rescue work was completed and evaluated collectively by many doctors from our County Hospital, we all felt that it was fortunate to have Dr. Lu’s timely intervention, otherwise, several patients would have been in life-threatening situations.”

”It was precisely because of Dr. Lu’s skillful hands that they had a window of time for rescue and the opportunity to be transferred.”

The head of the publicity department, with the surname Liu and a single character name Yi, said: ”Actually, Dr. Lu just joined our hospital, but Dr. Lu has a very sincere heart.”

”To be honest, in the current environment, we didn’t expect Dr. Lu would think about participating in emergency rescue without hesitation.”

”However, I believe that other colleagues in our hospital would also lend a helping hand as much as they can when encountering similar situations.”

The task of the publicity department is to promote all kinds of positive energy in the hospital, including but not limited to a department performing the first surgery in the city, treating some special diseases, or elderly patients.

”The State Hospital is the best hospital in our state, and also a learning target for many hospitals and institutions in our state. Actually, if the nature of this event wasn’t a bit special and inconvenient to publicize.”

”Our county’s publicity committee was planning to make a special interview video about Lu Cheng.”

”However, Director Liu, you also know that in the current environment, due to incidents caused by bride price or marriage events, ’storms’ are frequent, so we can only promote it a little.”

”Dr. Lu, you’ve worked hard.”

Lu Cheng quickly said: ”Not hard at all, it’s me who should thank you.”

Afterwards, the people from the publicity department and Feng County exchanged more pleasantries, and Liu Yi even invited them to stay for dinner.

But the visitors came with tasks and had to rush back to report, so they didn’t stay.

After the interview was completed, Liu Yi also gave Lu Cheng some symbolic encouragement, saying things like how aware Lu Cheng is, clearly positioned, and a kind-hearted doctor.

When Lu Cheng came out of the publicity department, it was only two in the afternoon.

At this time, it was just right to go back for a nap.

Lu Cheng quickly sent a message to ask Mu Nanshu, and after receiving the reply, Lu Cheng picked up Mu Nanshu from the lab.

Mu Nanshu hadn’t eaten yet, and she wanted to eat hot pot, so Lu Cheng quickly drove to Qianzhou.

While sitting in the passenger seat, Mu Nanshu suddenly asked: ”Is my state really that off? Why did they see it at a glance and then tease me?”

Lu Cheng seriously looked at Mu Nanshu, shook his head: ”I don’t know, did Xie Yuan’an also laugh at you?”

”Yes, Sister Xie laughed at me too.” Mu Nanshu said.

Lu Cheng shook his head faster, sniffed: ”You’re asking me this question? Are you trying to trap me?”

”Well, you can’t even find the position.” Mu Nanshu said surprisingly.

Lu Cheng got so anxious that he slammed on the brakes.

Before he could speak, there was cursing from the window behind: ”Can you drive or not? If you can’t drive, get off the road!”

Lu Cheng didn’t dare to curse back, he just hit the accelerator and drove forward.

”Let’s not talk about this, let’s go eat first. After eating, go back to take a nap and skip this afternoon.”

”I still have to go to night duty today.” Lu Cheng said.

Mu Nanshu opened her mouth, turned her head with a look of wanting to cry but having no tears: ”Alas, now I finally know what ’the more one covers up, the more one exposes’ means.”

Lu Cheng comforted her: ”Actually, it’s nothing. We’re all adults, not little kids.”

”If you’re not embarrassed, then others will be embarrassed.”

Mu Nanshu said: ”That’s what I thought too, so I kept quiet. I’m afraid the more I explain, the messier it gets.”

Lu Cheng then turned right into a parking lot in front of a mall…

When Lu Cheng arrived at the department for his shift, although everyone in the ER knew he had saved people in Feng County,

the formal announcement by the publicity department still made Lu Cheng a little famous in the department.

There wasn’t a big commotion, just a round of applause, even Director Xiao Zhaoxi came to the department to personally applaud Lu Cheng’s ’bravery’.

This way, after the people from the publicity department left, Zhu Yuanzhou from the second line shift said: ”Xiao Lu, congrats, with this one event, you’re sure to get a good evaluation in our hospital.”

”This kind of honor is a bonus item when it comes to professional title evaluation.”

”By the way, Xiao Lu, you’re about to be promoted to associate senior level, right?”

Lu Cheng nodded: ”According to the regulations, I should be able to apply in the middle of next year.”

Lu Cheng graduated from training in 2018 and entered the intermediate title in 2020.

A five-year cooling-off period is required, and by 2025 Lu Cheng can normally apply for associate senior level.

However, if his papers are published on time, he can try applying for an exception this year.

”Then keep it up.”

”The night shift in the ward is slightly busier than the rescue room. There’s work for the observation ward patients, you’ll need to establish orders and medical record templates, write admission records and primary case histories, and the remaining records can be completed by the day shift,” Zhu Yuanzhou instructed.

”Got it, thank you for the guidance, Director Zhu,” Lu Cheng nodded in thanks.

”Don’t be too polite, once you’re in the department, we’re all brothers, sharing the same trench hardships.”

”I’ll head back now, if there’s a special case, you can call me. I live close by, just a few minutes away,” Zhu Yuanzhou swaggered out of the ER.

Lu Cheng then comfortably went into the doctor’s rest room.

As soon as he entered, a notification appeared.

[By curing the mental worry of infertility in a patient through non-medical means, unlocking a long-standing knot in the patient’s heart, you have gained Skill Points: 1.2 points.]

1.2 Skill Points, barely anything.

But Lu Cheng was still very happy…

Lu Cheng took out his phone and sent a message to Mu Nanshu: ”I’m on duty, did you wake up from your nap?”

Mu Nanshu: ”Mm... just woke up, my parents came.”

Lu Cheng’s throat tightened, replied: ”It’s okay, we’re grown-ups now. But I still suggest you turn off the surveillance.”

”This house doesn’t have surveillance, otherwise how could Uncle Lu and they live here, they came to ask me to go back to our hometown for a while.”

”However, they happened to come today and indeed found out.”

”But…” Mu Nanshu hesitated.

”But what?” Lu Cheng asked.

Mu Nanshu: ”But they said we should have kids earlier, that summer is the best time for confinement…”

Lu Cheng: ”That fast? Do they think we’re just for breeding?”

Mu Nanshu: ”That’s a bit harsh.”

Lu Cheng said: ”Anyway, I’m not in a rush.”

Mu Nanshu said: ”I’m not in a hurry either.”
