System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

”Here’s the data comparison between the experimental groups.”

Lu Cheng is the designer of the technique and is considered to have the highest ’accomplishment.’

The general consensus in the industry is that whoever creates a technique has the best command of it.

Xie Yuan’an and Tong Yuan’an are all ’secondary learners.’

The reason for this kind of horizontal comparison in the project is to verify the repeatability and transmissibility of the technique, so as to characterize them.

Is it personal handling skills, or a suturing technique, or eventually promoted to a surgical technique.

This also integrates the teaching project to confirm its teachability.

If there weren’t so many professionals involved in the project, Lu Cheng certainly wouldn’t conduct such a detailed study alone.

But now with Mu Nanshu around, many spin-offs of the project happen naturally.

Moreover, the master’s and doctoral students brought by Tong Yuan’an and Chen Song can create some marginal projects based on this technique, and there’s no issue in publishing papers in the first or second tier.

It’s all new stuff.

More people, more power.

It was nearly ten at night when Xie Yuan’an left.

Lu Cheng initially suggested giving her a ride, but Xie Yuan’an laughed and said, ”No need, Lu Cheng, Xiao Mumu, someone has driven my car over from Han City for me.”

”I can drive myself around in the future.”

Mu Nanshu asked, ”Sister Mu, aren’t you still in your probation period?”

”One in Ji City, one in Long County,” Xie Yuan’an replied boldly.

”Xiao Mumu, I think you could prepare a few more cars too; it’ll be more convenient.”

”See you, Teacher Xie!” Lu Cheng quickly urged Xie Yuan’an to leave.

If you can’t take the highway, just have one car ready in each place, right?

Lu Cheng didn’t want to chat with these two rich women anymore.

After Xie Yuan’an left, Mu Nanshu did not leave, clearly planning to spend the night here.

Of course, Lu Cheng had no untoward intentions.

However, without any motive of ’sitting and being upright’, Lu Cheng held her and squeezed into the quilt together.

Winter in Ji City is very cold, but apparently this winter will not be so cold.

”Let go of my hand, I’m not used to it,” Mu Nanshu tilted her head, voice stern.

”It’s okay... habits start from nothing!”

Lu Cheng tightened his embrace!

Normally, just watching didn’t make you notice the full grip. But over the years, as Lu Cheng held on, he still felt he had scored big.

Future kids would benefit too.

Just as Mu Nanshu was struggling, Lu Cheng swiftly changed the subject: ”Can you get surgery to reconstruct the function of your hand?”

”I see that Union Hospital and Huashan Hospital are also doing function reconstruction surgeries. Is there a chance you might return to frontline clinical work?”

Mu Nanshu was startled, then said with a somber tone: ”Not right now, I’ve asked. Even if surgery is done, muscle strength recovery won’t be great.”

”My main issue now is muscle strength, not mobility.”

”It’s okay, I’ll stick to the research path.”

”Let me tell you, people like you are just the hands on a project.”

Lu Cheng replied quickly: ”I’m the hand? So I’ll leave?”

Mu Nanshu instantly realized she misspoke: ”Alright, you’re not just a hand, you’re a leader too, it’s Xie Yuan’an and others who are the hands.”

”Xie Yuan’an is truly your good friend.” Lu Cheng chuckled softly.

Mu Nanshu’s body gradually softened, but she persevered: ”I just wanted to tell you, a project also has a CPU.”

”The brain is the most important; hands are easy to find and replace, but the core is crucial.”

”As long as you have the ability and certain connections, you’ll find more good people around you.”

”And this positive feedback will continue continuously.”

”This situation has progressed at least five years ahead of my expectations.”

Seeing Lu Cheng silent, thinking he had other concerns, Mu Nanshu raised her head and tilted it: ”Do you feel a bit let down? After all, your involvement wasn’t as strong in these projects.”

Lu Cheng shook his head: ”No, the essence of medicine is to solve problems for patients; it’s derived from patients and must benefit them.”

”Seeing these techniques help patients makes me happy.”

Lu Cheng didn’t mind not operating the projects himself; rather, he thought, when Tong Yuan’an and Xie Yuan’an moved into clinical operations, his skill points would increase rapidly.

It would be clear who’s the worker and who’s the boss.

He inadvertently hired two substantial teams to ’work’ and earn skill points for him.

That’s the most essential thing.

”Do you enjoy sitting on a hill and watching tigers fight?” Mu Nanshu asked.

Lu Cheng responded: ”What sitting on a hill fighting tigers, I’m the big director behind the scenes, okay?”

”What did you mean by your last sentence?”

Mu Nanshu asked, ”Don’t you think Xie Yuan’an has a very laid-back personality?”

”Remember, she represents Union Hospital.”

Lu Cheng nodded slowly: ”So that’s it; it seems even in the lab, Teacher Xie wasn’t very honest.”

”Of course, Xie Yuan’an always dreamed of somehow transferring these projects back.”

”But her accumulation and strength are too shallow, she’s not a match for Professor Tong Yuan’an.”

”This is normal; when qualifications are similar or equal, the age gap is the biggest weakness.”

”Moreover, Xie Yuan’an’s qualifications are at least a grade below Professor Tong.”

Lu Cheng knew Mu Nanshu was indirectly complimenting him, and responded confidently: ”So you’re saying your research potential isn’t average as you once said, but possibly one or two levels higher than Xie Yuan’an’s?”

”Is that right?” Lu Cheng’s voice softened.

This was private talk in the room, so a little aggression was acceptable.

Mu Nanshu said nothing, which was an implicit acknowledgment.

Lu Cheng said: ”We’ll gradually improve; able to perform on stage and teach too.”

”Yeah.” Mu Nanshu nodded gently.

Lu Cheng whispered again: ”Do you want to make a move without any reason?”

Mu Nanshu was puzzled: ”What do you mean?”

Lu Cheng said: ”Wield a sword horizontally, and we’ll move the mountain ourselves. One cut severs the river, flowing by my will.”

Mu Nanshu pushed Lu Cheng away, seriously locking eyes with him: ”Still don’t understand.”

Lu Cheng’s tone was calm: ”I want to carry on the will of the old academicians, to further broaden the indications for Liver Preservation Surgery! Not just limited to liver suturing techniques.”
