System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

The emergency department is mainly responsible for emergency diagnosis and treatment of acute trauma, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular emergencies, poisoning, and other sudden diseases...

”Dr. Lu, thank you for your hard work. Although this new machine belongs to our internal medicine department for now, we are not good at starting it up normally yet,” Xiang Xiaonian politely thanked Lu Cheng as he came out of the resuscitation room at 4:40 pm.

Lu Cheng shook his head lightly, ”It’s nothing, I’m not busy on my end either.”

”Xiaonian, you can go in and get busy first. Director Dai might still need your help.”

The ECMO is new equipment introduced by the emergency department, it is the last line of life-saving defense in emergency resuscitation and is only available in the Intensive Care Unit.

Although this machine is expensive, it is quite useful, so the emergency department has introduced one too, and many people are interested in learning about it.

Dai Jinzhong was among the first batch of people to go out for ’ECMO’ training, but it seems that Dai Jinzhong’s skill level is not quite as proficient as Lu Cheng, who just returned from study.

”Dr. Lu, did you really just learn these skills recently? You look very skilled. Director Dai privately said that he thinks you might be playing dumb,” Xiang Xiaonian’s eyes sparkled.

Xiang Xiaonian’s looks are only average, but her beautiful eyes can add at least five points to her appearance.

”That’s just Director Dai overestimating me. If I were playing dumb, I’d end up being a real fool,” Lu Cheng took out his phone to check the time.

”Well, Xiaonian, you should get busy now,” Lu Cheng cut off the conversation again.

Reluctantly, Xiang Xiaonian turned and ran back.

Lu Cheng returned to his office to start writing the handover log and prepare for his off-duty procedures.

Of course, after finishing the handover log, Lu Cheng followed up on the transfer outcome of the recently resuscitated patient!

The patient was still in the operating room. Although it was only a lesion of the popliteal artery, the soft tissue damage was quite severe. Currently, the nurse in the operating room had proposed a medical order to perform a lower limb amputation at the knee joint area.

In layman’s terms, amputation.

There’s no other choice. If the patient’s local tissue blood supply is inadequate, Lu Cheng can only choose amputation.

But carefully consider if this patient possibly can solve the problem without amputation?

Let’s just say there is an opportunity, one that can be pursued.

After work, Lu Cheng drove directly to the laboratory.

Having received a research group member in the hospital, he had to share the news with the other group members no matter what.

Upon arriving at the research group’s laboratory, he first found Professor Chen Song, as Dai Linfang was about to enter the general surgery-related projects.

Mu Nanshu’s operating ability is somewhat lacking; she mainly manages simple experimental operations, the planning and progress of the overall experiment, and timely data organization.

So, Mu Nanshu didn’t have much to do. Maybe influenced by Xie Yuan’an, she took out her phone and chatted with Xiang Xiaonian.

Lu Cheng summed it up: ”This is the situation now, Teacher Chen, I still have some leeway to wriggle out of this, but it mainly depends on what you think.”

”My opinion is, if you go to Long County People’s Hospital, leaving Nanshu and me in the lab makes us seem slightly understaffed.”

Chen Song nodded gently and laughed, ”The way you’re like a sow reproducing incessantly, ordinary people really can’t handle it. There aren’t enough people to help with the births.”

”I was initially contemplating whether to discuss with you about calling Union Hospital, or I might bring a few people over.”

”But since you’ve identified Dai Linfang as a suitable choice, I will certainly follow your advice.”

”Even a sow has the right to choose the doctor for delivery.”

Lu Cheng quipped, ”Teacher Chen, why have you been so fixated on sows lately?”

Chen Song lifted his chin, responding in exasperation, ”That’s something you should ask yourself, why you’re so fixated on sows?”

”What are you doing? Are you letting me go or not?”

Last national holiday, when Chen Song was all set to return and become a professor, Lu Cheng kept him here.

Now that the project is nearing completion, Chen Song plans to finish the clinical project before returning.

Well, a new project has appeared again.

Chen Song feels trapped, but he is unwilling to give in, so he could only gain a little mental satisfaction verbally.

Mu Nanshu glanced at Chen Song and then continued editing a message as if assuming Lu Cheng’s identity to send to Xiang Xiaonian.

Nonetheless, after sending it, she handed the chat interface on the phone over to Lu Cheng.

Lu Cheng glared at Mu Nanshu, ”We don’t meddle in matchmaking!”

Xiang Xiaonian hoped Lu Cheng could find out if Dai Linfang has a girlfriend. Unsure of how to respond, Mu Nanshu gave the phone to Lu Cheng.

Chen Song roughly saw the message and stood up, ”In any case, handle it yourself.”

After walking away, Chen Song turned back and seriously emphasized, ”Lu Cheng, I’m telling you clearly, this is the last time.”

”Hmm, alright!” Lu Cheng replied.

Only then did Chen Song walk away.

After thinking for a while, Lu Cheng raised his voice, ”Teacher Chen, if you have something to do, you can go ahead and deal with it.”

”I can call someone else to work on the follow-up project.”

Chen Song stumbled a little and quickened his pace to escape, fearing his disguise would fall off.

After Chen Song was out of sight, Mu Nanshu said, ”You’re quite the troublemaker; why do you have to expose Professor Chen’s facade?”

”Wouldn’t it be better to leave some dignity?”

Let’s face it, compared to the Liver Preservation Surgery, the Spleen Preservation Surgery is indeed much less significant, both for the patients and the industry.

Chen Song is a person who cares a lot about his reputation and has a bit of a proud ego.
