Surviving The Fourth Calamity

However, there is one thing Hill can still be sure of: that guy certainly isn’t dead, nor has he been handed over to the Sia Tower.

Otherwise, Asmodeus wouldn’t be so unprepared.

Lansendel’s Chosen, whether alive or dead, is a huge problem.

That Lord of Dawn, though he indeed trapped several billion of his own followers to death, no one can deny that he cares deeply for them.

His Chosen even more so; if one dies, Lansendel would go mad.

While the Lord of Hell doesn’t overly avoid the presence of that Lord of Dawn in his schemes, he also wouldn’t do anything that would provoke Lansendel.

The Great Peacock is actually not that difficult to manipulate, because often, he simply doesn’t pay attention.

Even if he belatedly realizes he might have been used, if the issue isn’t significant, he would at most cause some minor trouble for the other party, with the degree depending on the pleasure he derived from the matter.

He might even laugh it off.

But things like killing his Chosen or actions that allow High-level Followers to leave Toril and independently traverse the Stellar Realm, well, reaching the point of a God War wouldn’t be impossible.

However, the biggest problem is, Lansendel’s people, even imprisoning them doesn’t work.

Their ability to create chaos surpasses that of the Demon Lords of the Bottomless Abyss... A slight mishap, and the Great Peacock might just manifest out of thin air!

If the Bottomless Abyss tends to stand firm on matters related to Lansendel, the devils of the nine layers of hell, from top to bottom, are quite repulsed by this Lord of Dawn.

In the legends of Toril, there are many stories of devils encountering traveling companions who built Tower of the Dawn all over for the Lord of Dawn, preferring to abandon their roots established after tens of thousands of years rather than have contact with them.

That was just a small team led by a High Priest!

Lansendel followers traversing the Stellar Realm can certainly connect with their leader in mere moments!

Though devils are known for their myriad tactics... back in Gerns, the God of Singing’s avatar was forced to even impossibility to send information to his main body.

But, who would dare to wager against Lansendel?

The Abyssal Will and the Lord of Hell likely wouldn’t.

Yet, the one who conjured the ’Order Jewel’ does indeed have a style reminiscent of Lansendel... Regardless of what, he certainly hasn’t been captured.

Back in the day, the stellar visitor who was obtained by the Sia Tower due to the fall of the Defense Tower reportedly left only a corpse... likely just a diversion.

Thinking of this, Hill grew a bit absent-minded: with him suddenly being here, certainly signifies a huge stroke of Asmodeus’s bad luck.

And that Archmage Draculus, as long as he doesn’t truly fall for the devil’s tricks, is really suited for playing games like ’eye for an eye, spy game versus golden eye’ with Sia Tower.

Especially when there’s this Hider affiliated with the Lord of Dawn who’s been here for who knows how long...

In this world, what else can the Lord of Hell do?

Hill even started wondering if among those standing even firmer than the Tower of Dark Enigma, able to persist longer than the Defense Tower, and ranked among the ’Ten Great Magic Towers,’ if there aren’t some hidden things among them.

The Tower of Dark Enigma and the Defense Tower might truly be the most unfortunate ones.

Perhaps, as Ruth once murmured, prophecy magic injures others yet harms oneself even more.

Though Gilbert didn’t understand Ruth’s intent at the time, Hill had a slight guess: predicting others, if the prophecy’s power can’t suppress the opponent’s counter-spell, would instead allow the opponent to trace back the source of the prophecy.

With so many secrets in Sia Tower and unable to determine what exactly the prophecy mages of the Tower of Dark Enigma have perceived about Sia Tower, naturally, the first choice would be to eradicate them.

As for the Defense Tower... Hill furrowed his brow, suspecting if the Defense Tower is truly annihilated.

The Tower of Dark Enigma was able to rely on Ruth to preserve its lineage till now.

How could the Defense Tower, which has benefited from many prophecies from the Tower of Dark Enigma, truly be...

Even if the higher-ups were willing to sacrifice themselves, is it because their fearlessness stems from having no repercussions?

The one who conjured the ’Order Jewel,’ surely never really was just someone hiding alone, right?

Hill even harbored a bit of doubt towards Delphus.

Whether intentional or not, in the series of events that unfolded recently, the only one seemingly unscathed remains him.

Of course, outsiders might not see it that way, after all, even the Sia Tower doesn’t have that many of his Eighth Ring subordinates.

He managed to destroy two in one go.

One of them was clearly someone he valued greatly.

But if he indeed has issues... The source of his emphasis might not be clear.

However, Hill can see that Delphus’s actions all originate from the heart... He truly intends to kill Gilbert Hainarson.

And he indeed cherished his two war machines greatly, his regret in having to retreat was genuinely heartfelt.

If Hill weren’t accustomed to reverse-engineering the process from the outcome, then the role Delphus played in all this would have been concealed.

However, that unexpected move which caught Asmodeus off guard left Hill with a question mark in his mind.

Clearly, during that time, Delphus was muttering and hesitating... So when he openly fired, Hill was equally startled.

Judging from Delphus’s performance, he wasn’t someone who makes decisive and resolute moves.

Asmodeus, who possessed the Eighth Ring Mage, clearly had the same assessment as Hill, which is why Delphus’s sudden action caught him by surprise.

Was Delphus’s natural turn really unintentional?

Hill felt like his head was about to explode with thoughts.

If Delphus is fake... the role of the male protagonist in the espionage drama should truly be his.

Or maybe big noses are just adept at being double agents?

Hill was a bit dejected, leaning back on his deck chair, looking confused... Had he depended too much on instincts and intuition before, living like a happy Little Bear holding a honey jar, and thus was this world a means to torment him, consuming his brain cells?

Right now, he felt like a miserable child who just received a twenty-four-thousand-piece giant puzzle... and the gift-giver was pleased to provide a perfect holiday.

If this time, it was merely because he had been too fortunate recently, thus naturally being sent to this world as a test according to the principle of energy conservation, Hill would accept it... yes, he no longer thought that this world would truly have the catastrophic impact on Teraxil as he initially imagined.

Of course, there would still be immense dangers, but definitely not to the extent of destroying Teraxil.

Once the ’Order Jewel’ appeared, what was there to ponder?

Even the Styx would now be too occupied to mock Asmodeus’s misfortune... it had to first check the position of that Red Dragon.

The luck of that Ancient Red Dragon must also not be very good.

Otherwise, his world wouldn’t have been chosen by Coron as a training ground for the Undead Tribe.

But it’s not necessarily bad for him... can the so-called Spring Water of the Platinum Dragon King truly change a dragon’s innate gender?

If it could really be done, there wouldn’t be so many male dragons among the Metal Dragons and Chromatic Dragons remaining single for their lifetime.

Everyone knows the huge difference between having no partner and remaining single for life.

Thus, the Platinum Dragon King must have been just talking nonsense; the only thing he could achieve is to shift that dragon’s inherent evilness to kindness.

And the Chromatic Dragon Queen must also be aware that the other party is bluffing.

But she is always suspicious... although it sounds unbelievable, in the world of the Chromatic Dragon Queen, her male partners are responsible for hatching eggs.

One who inevitably has a poor relationship with her, turning into a child of the Kind Alignment, whether male or female, is a disgrace to her.

She never even wished to spare the child’s life.

As for saying this little dragoness would later compete for the position of Chromatic Dragon Queen... even if she truly couldn’t reproduce anymore, it wouldn’t be possible.

At most, when the little dragon grows up, she would become the so-called Dragon Mother Goddess... aren’t there enough chaotic deities among the Giant Dragons?

Indeed, the appearance of the little dragon would anger the Chromatic Dragon Queen.

After all, she embodies greed and selfishness; anyone attempting to take even a copper coin from her dragon’s claw is an eternal enemy.

But before this little dragon is born, even Tiamat can’t determine its gender... Eo, the Nine-Faced Dragon God, wouldn’t give her this ability.

He knows better than anyone what his daughter truly is.

Thus, the reason Tiamat must kill this little dragon can only be because she doesn’t want her dragon egg to hatch a child of the Kind Alignment.

It’s her disgrace, even if it results from failing to protect her egg.

Being part of her harem, that Red Dragon naturally understands the Chromatic Dragon Queen well, which is why he went mad.

However, it seems that this little dragon truly is a female dragon.

His child seems genuinely to be the prophesied Dragon God who could divide Tiamat’s power.

If not for the presence of the Undead Tribe, the cost for the Red Dragon to escape with his already born daughter would have been much higher than now.

Hill also didn’t realize this at first, but upon discovering how perfectly the Red Dragon had prepared a retreat for himself and the child, he concluded that indeed, the Chromatic Dragon Queen couldn’t determine her dragon egg’s gender.

As expected, those who don’t hatch eggs have no authority.

The peculiar luck and fate of the Red Dragon are the reasons the Styx took an interest in him.

But similarly... he’s bound to attract enough trouble.

Both the presence of the Undead Tribe and Lansendel have their own misfortunes.

Hill also doesn’t know which is more troublesome.
