Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Fengo’s decision was quite good for most people.

Ruth’s Aislin didn’t need to worry about how to hide her presence... because of Fengo’s sudden move to drag the neutral faction into the water seemed a bit odd, Glaysia’s attention noticeably shifted from her.

Otherwise, that bored Princess of Hell would have been observing how her soul might develop in another world, in another environment.

When Rosero advised ’Aislin’ to live as she had in the past, his tone was strange, so ’Aislin’ quickly realized Glaysia’s true intention and deeply felt her mind was not quite right.

If she really has that kind of thought, then don’t wake her real soul!

Let Aislin herself stir things around; wouldn’t Glaysia be able to observe more clearly?

But ’Aislin’ had to admit: this was indeed something she herself could do.

Glaysia is forever the most selfish.

She can accept that her soul lives happily due to different circumstances, but she won’t accept that this happiness appears right under her nose.

She wants to see the potential that’s acted out, not the reality that’s shown.

And with the heavy attention temporarily shifted away from overhead, ’Aislin’ would naturally give more space for the false mask that unexpectedly hadn’t faded.

She certainly knew the reason it had reached such an uncontrollable level was because Glaysia insisted that Aislin’s body advance to the Eighth Tier.

Resonating with that law was Aislin at that time, so the law also became the fine thread stitching together that mask shattered into countless fragments.

It’s not completely untearable, but with every piece torn off, a chunk of soul’s flesh is taken away... it is painfully unbearable!

Thinking of the countless pieces she couldn’t count made ’Aislin’ shiver.

She was also Glaysia!

The greatest pain over the years was being thrown into her palace by her father and getting hurt on her bottom.

She simply didn’t want to endure that pain.

But she knew her nature... ’Aislin’s’ experiment’s success was Glaysia’s credit.

However, if the experiment failed, regardless of whether it was due to her own willfulness, it would be because something unintended mixed in when a chunk of soul was torn off during the making of ’Aislin’.

Next time when playing this game, she must be more careful.

As for whether it’s real, just make all related existences disappear, wouldn’t that solve it?

So, she doesn’t want to die; she has to satisfy ’Aislin’s’ desire, let her express herself more.

At least she could try to consume some of the mask’s soul power... although not all fragments would disappear, any reduction is welcome!

For Aislin, during times without needing to act, she’d definitely prefer to be with Ruth... she finally learned the preciousness of time, but unfortunately, there’s no longer an opportunity for the teacher to see her shine.

Being able to make the teacher feel she’s still alive now is already the greatest comfort.

However, Aislin feels she might have inherited a bit of ’Aislin’s’ careless personality, not caring about anything... since she’s alive, she should seize the time to do what she wants.

Now she doesn’t need to compete for territory with others; naturally, the teacher is the most important.

Ruth also sensed Aislin’s sentiment, so unless there are things ’Aislin’ absolutely cannot know, he would always keep her by his side.

But it’s because of his behavior that many Archmages at Sia Tower think he’s truly loyal.

Otherwise, who could accept such an Aislin, being inseparable?

As for Oliva... unless the trouble finds him, he remains oblivious.

He’s happily playing a test game with Koyl!

Even Koyl is doing good, since Aislin is the one most vicious and sinister.

Leaving only Oliva, though annoying, is manageable.

-----------------

The only victim of this was the unfortunate Hilbert.

Hill naturally wouldn’t entrust his safety to others’ words; his eyes hidden among those hundreds and thousands of sparrows granted him sufficient control over the realm outside his Magic Tower.

Not to mention Lady Pet’s implicit probes.

Archmages of the neutral faction, lacking external pressure, naturally didn’t understand the concept of unity.

Richard Dreyfus’s character, despised even by devils, let alone Lady Pet who considered herself somewhat humane.

Especially as one who could maneuver freely within the neutral faction, Pet’s only open enemy was that guy.

Generally, as a top-tier existence like a Ninth Ring Mage, even if shameless, one would powder their face with a thick enough layer of white powder.

But the powder on Delphus’s face seems to be bluish-black.

He wishes not to be seen as a villain, yet wants every advantage.

During the Defense Tower incident, the main handler from Sia’s side explicitly requested sparing some uninvolved nobles to avoid inciting collective anger from other Magic Towers... those with top-tier resources, immovably linked to the Defense Tower, didn’t have one survive.

But families like the Hainarson clan, with a couple of Mid-High Rank Mages in the Defense Tower, naturally fell into the type to spare.

As a family that could withstand tests from both white and black robes, Pet doesn’t see any problem with the Hainarson clan: considering so many years, only Gilbert barely becoming a Seventh Circle Mage indicates the clan had no hidden plans.

However, Pet herself hadn’t paid much attention to the Hainarson clan’s plight back then.

Though Delphus’s greed to occupy even a small Cat’s Eye Ore Mine was contemptible, who would care about the defeated’s misery?

Still, Pet couldn’t understand why Delphus insisted on eliminating the Hainarson clan.

Even if his plan to monopolize a mutated Cat’s Eye Mine failed due to Hainarson’s unexpected escape, so what?

Regardless of whether Gilbert would seek revenge... the actual downfall of the Hainarson clan was due to Sia Tower!

If he truly harbors resentment over the past, how could he only target Delphus?

For Sia Tower to rest assured, Gilbert would likely choose to forget the past.

There’s also the possibility that Gilbert is foolish, directly directing all hatred towards the one who expelled the Hainarson clan and secretly hunted them down, leading to the deaths of their few remaining Low-rank Mages... this whole thing was quite laughable.

What kind of idiot would lead a family to another Magic Tower’s territory, only then remembering to silence them?

Moreover, it wasn’t even successful, and some mages at the brink of life’s end chose to perish together... claiming a life from their supposed kin.

During that time, the incident was practically a source of amusement for Sia Tower’s Archmages.

Yet Gilbert was only Seven Rings.

Even if his expertise in Strange Objects allowed him to rely on the Magic Tower’s power to fend off Delphus’s attacks, he lacked the capacity for retaliation!

Rosero’s indifferent response to that damage was naturally because he saw through Gilbert’s facade, understanding there was no need to regard this Seventh Circle Mage seriously.

Otherwise, Pet wouldn’t dare to trade with Gilbert.

She knew well that Sia Tower’s core existence would always be the will of the Master of Sia Tower, and Rosero’s attitude embodied this will.

Since even the white robe side accepted Gilbert’s presence, between the likable, beneficial Gilbert and the contemptible, always stealing her weaving formula Delphus, Pet would naturally choose Gilbert.

So, as Hilbert secretly searches for ways to tackle Richard Dreyfus, he welcomed the enthusiastic, hospitable Archmage Pet.

Hill listened somewhat confusedly to the charming female mage across from him ranting on and on.

Before sitting down, she directly handed him a list of Delphus’s enemies at Sia Tower... surprisingly long, but also seemingly unsurprising.

Really, Hilbert knew after Delphus started stirring again after Rosero’s warning, he carefully dug into Gilbert’s memories and even flipped through the Hainarson family biography.

Only then did he realize, the other side wanted to eliminate for a mere trivial reason.

Hill even hoped to find something in the biography about an eternal enmity with the Delphus family, however melodramatic that would be.

At least, it could be understandable.

”So, Lady Pet, are you planning to collaborate with me?” Hilbert couldn’t help but interrupt the female mage still verbally humiliating Delphus, ”Can you provide a reasonable motivation?”
