Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Rojas carefully recalled things related to Koyl: ”Clearly lacking presence, but able to build a good relationship with someone like Gilbert, and he can even have Archmage Ruth choose him over those stronger Seventh Circle Mages.

Even when both Oliva and Aislin are around, he isn’t suppressed to the point where he can’t speak. How could such a person be easily dealt with?”

Sonia seemed confused: ”Isn’t the teacher’s goal just to ensure peace and safety?”

Rojas nodded and then shook her head: ”I am, but he isn’t.

Koyl clearly stepped up for his ambition, to advance further and faster on the mage path.

He will surely try to tear off some benefit from those two.

Oliva and Aislin, I somewhat understand them. I know how to avoid things that overly catch their attention.

Moreover... those two, especially Oliva, are well-disciplined by Archmage Ruth.

As long as we don’t proactively provoke him, it should be fine.

And Aislin... we can temporarily ignore her.

Don’t be fooled by the recent uproar she caused, in reality, her interests have shifted away from our side.

Although we don’t know what’s really attracted her interest at the Sia Tower side, given her usual temperament, until matters over there are resolved, she’ll only occasionally glance our way when she wants to kill time.

Just be careful, and there won’t be any problems.

Speaking of which, Aislin at least doesn’t hate young, pretty girls like some female mages in power do.

Even if the women involved with her due to those handsome men, she will deal with them based on whether they’ve participated in persecuting her or whether they know the truth.

This might be because Archmage Ruth has always hated infighting among his people, but at least she has a baseline.

Though her baseline is often rather odd, outsiders often think she surely has countless wronged souls in her hands.

There surely are, given the Eight Ring Archmage’s temperament...

Furthermore, even when she differentiates, it’s always based on her understanding.

Some people just have bad luck.

Aislin is someone who would never show mercy.

Yet, no matter what, female apprentices in our faction indeed have the best lives.

Just lucky, our teacher is Master Ruth Tower.

In our world, having a relatively upright leader is such a rare thing!”

Rojas was deeply touched... she had witnessed countless beginnings and ends, life and death, plunder.

A pink-clad female mage standing behind Sonia tugged at her elder martial sister’s sleeve: ”Sister Sonia, teacher seems to really like reminiscing lately...”

Sonia cautiously responded in a hushed tone: ”With pressure building, the teacher likes to reminisce about the past.”

Rojas couldn’t help but roll her eyes: ”You might as well say I’m old!”

”Teacher, forever young, beautiful, and elegant!” The lovely girls shouted together with a laugh.

Rojas shook her head: ”Really...

Forget it, too lazy to argue with you.

Just remember, for now, Koyl still needs to be guarded against; except Sonia, it’s best for the others not to appear in front of him.”

The pink-clad girl answered crisply: ”We’ve agreed, at least for the next three years, not to step outside this Auxiliary Tower’s gate.”

Rojas turned to look: ”Sonia, can you advance to Seven Rings within three years?

Last time I asked you, didn’t you say it might take 10 years?

We’re still relatively safe, don’t push yourself too hard.”

Sonia’s graceful and dignified face showed a hint of a smile: ”The magical energy at Sia Tower is relatively abundant.

Moreover, maybe it was the lack of urgency in the past that accustomed me to a slower pace, now I’m feeling invigorated...”

She glanced at the tall Ruth’s Main Tower outside the window and calmly said: ”Don’t worry! Teacher, I am not forcing myself.

If it weren’t for recent events, I would have almost forgotten that I entered the Tower of Dark Enigma earlier than Mage Koyl!”

Not to mention that extraordinarily talented Mage Gilbert, who entered the Tower of Dark Enigma when Sonia was advancing to the Sixth Ring.

Sonia naturally knew that there was a significant talent gap between them... otherwise, she wouldn’t have had to become just a student of Ruth’s students.

And was even chosen in the last batch.

Yet she’s not really that bad, at least she still had the opportunity to be chosen by Ruth’s direct students.

It’s just over the years, being too well protected by the teacher, and coupled with her always serious personality and her looks not being the most popular type in this world, she never felt that sense of urgency.

So her days, truly, passed too peacefully and happily.

So peacefully that she forgot how frightening the world she lived in was. Before entering the Tower of Dark Enigma, she had been so on edge... In this world, whether one’s aptitude was good or not, pretty girls always faced many troubles.

Even if one’s aptitude was good, living under an unlucky teacher would still lead to a difficult life.

Otherwise, there wouldn’t be so many pretty junior sisters willing to embrace Teacher Rojas: not every girl is willing to sacrifice things that may be insignificant to gain a seemingly bright future.

Sonia seriously looked at her Teacher Rojas, who seemed to have aged a few years in just six months... Clearly, after becoming a Seventh Circle Mage, the radiant face no longer bore the marks of time, sincerely saying, ”Teacher, for all these years, it’s been you sheltering and guiding us.

Now, we no longer want to see you bearing all the pressure alone.

I’m not like Mage Gilbert, who fights recklessly.

I just need to work harder, be more driven; it might be a bit tough... but what does that matter?

Compared to what you’ve sacrificed for us...”

Sonia clenched her fist: Rojas is someone who loves freedom and is too lazy to compete with others!

Her teacher, who loves them even more than their own mothers... They should have stood up earlier to help their teacher weather the storms!

Fortunately, it’s not too late now.

Thank goodness, it’s not too late.

”Teacher~” Observing the sadness on the faces of Rojas and Sonia, the girl in pink immediately stood forth, ”Don’t worry, we’ll work hard too!

Although I’m not as strong as Sonia, I’m about to advance to Fifth Circle soon!”

”Tsk~ Get out of here.” A girl in a light green robe pulled her back, then smiled at Rojas, ”Teacher, I promise, within three years, I’ll definitely advance to Sixth Circle!”

Rojas looked at her with a hint of surprise, ”Really? Are you sure, Laisa?”

Although the Seventh Circle is a firm standing, the Sixth Circle is the foundation.

If among her students, another could reach Sixth Circle, at least when facing Koyl, Rojas would have more confidence.

”Yes!” The green-robed girl Laisa Fexil nodded vigorously, ”I didn’t expect it myself, but after seeing Mage Gilbert’s puppet falcon combat style, I suddenly felt inspired.

At first, I wasn’t sure, but... later I realized, it’s indeed a path that suits me.”

”Huh?” Rojas looked puzzled, ”Do you mean, strange objects crafting, or...”

Although she dabbled a bit in crafting strange objects, it was merely a pastime because she couldn’t advance to the Eighth Ring, purely following others’ blueprints without any personal thought.

Rojas couldn’t believe that one of her students could see through Gilbert’s puppet methodology.

”How could it be strange objects crafting!” Fexil shook her head decisively, ”The metal exquisite sphere you made back then, I played it until it shattered!”

Rojas looked stunned... although that thing indeed shattered because her craftsmanship was poor, so the mechanism was easily broken, but that was made of fine steel!

How did she manage to break it?

A disbelief suddenly emerged in Rojas’s mind, but she quickly dismissed it... No... That’s impossible!

Yet, her firm denial quickly vanished under Fexil’s crisp and straightforward voice.

”Teacher, I found that casting lots of auxiliary spells on myself and then fighting directly with hands suits me best~”

”Uh? Hmm?”

”My strength is already quite substantial.” The girl in green did not notice her teacher’s slightly defensive expression, ”What the eagle claws can do, I can too!

First, boosting spells on myself, then throwing some negativity at the opponent, and then whacking directly with a stick... Teacher, you see, as long as it’s unexpected, even a Ninth Ring Archmage...”

”Shut up!” Sonia quickly intervened, slapping the back of the green-robed girl’s head, ”You’ve got a bit carried away!”

Rojas opened her mouth and then quickly closed it: forget it, she didn’t want to know which spell foundation her student actually used.

She wasn’t unaware of some Mages with naturally great strength choosing mage armor like spells as their foundation.

After all, compared to a bright future, low-rank mages prefer to form combat abilities as quickly as possible.

But in the Magic Tower, especially under Mage Ruth’s command, such choices rarely appeared, since when lives are guaranteed, people do think of the future.

Of course, Rojas had heard of some, because of overly unique talents, simply choosing ’Master’s Touch’ or ’Sniper’s Strike’ for weapon attack enhancing auxiliary spells.

Hmm?

Rojas suddenly realized, Fexil seemed to have reported that her spell foundation was prophecy-like spells... from her tone, did she actually use ’Master’s Touch’?

For a moment, Rojas lost the courage to question.

Wasn’t she raising cute and beautiful girls?

Looking at Fehashi’s sweetest and most adorable face among the beautiful girls, Rojas fell silent.
