Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Rosero has always been a clever and witty Devil, otherwise he wouldn’t have been able to live so comfortably around someone as brainy and unpredictable as Glaysia, whose thought process even her parents fail to comprehend.

In Glaysia’s palace, as long as you don’t show too much interest in certain information, you can slip away when needed, and when you can’t, just hang around those slightly more curious colleagues, and you can pretty much survive.

Although there are always people cleaning up Glaysia’s harem, they never clear it all at once, instead, they first deal with those who are the most problematic.

And given Glaysia’s speed at bringing in new favorites to the palace, as long as you’re careful enough and steady enough, you’ll never stand out too much.

Anyway, Asmodier wouldn’t care about who his daughter’s palace harbors, and when he cleans up, he wouldn’t care whether the trash he sweeps out has been seen or not.

So, even though Rosero dodges those highly secretive pieces of information rather quickly, he actually knows quite a bit about the top-tier existences in Hell.

Especially those that aren’t too secretive, just small rumors that the lower-level Demons don’t know.

Like some things related to fate... Although the Lord of Hell himself doesn’t have that power, he has entities he can leverage: Asmodeus is quite familiar with several Gods of Destiny from the Evil Faction.

He seems quite interested in destiny, so he has found quite a few friends who can analyze and explain it to him.

With the abilities of those Evil Gods, playing with a Moon Goddess who had just been born and acts purely on instinct is definitely not a problem.

Tsk, and still a Chaotic Faction Silvermoon Goddess, really wonder which Creation Star Spirit went so crazy to dump the Power of Destiny on her.

Imagine~ if they let Celene gain Tai Ji’s power, what a terrifying scenario that would be!

Who knows, the entire Multiverse would probably explode.

Toril having two Moon Goddesses, even if one is the Evil Moon, is still their greatest redemption.

Of course, maybe AO committed too many sins, so when Celene wasn’t destructive enough, he brought forth another Lansendel.

The unprecedented commonality between the Bottomless Abyss and the nine layers of hell was broken when facing these two: just hope that if they truly walk down the path of evil, they move to the other side.

Of course, the best outcome would be if those two never fall.

If they do end up on the other side... although they are always the most destructive to their own kind, when they stir up trouble, their enemies aren’t spared either.

Think about Shaer, that’s a sister who has shared hardships for tens of thousands of years!

Think about the Elf Empire, that’s tens of billions of devout believers!

Even in the Abyss, that place which never cares about the lives of Demons, experiencing something like this would make the Bottomless Abyss shudder.

Just in case, even when making hypothetical scenarios, Devils would speak from the other side’s perspective.

Just the thought of it gives shivers, so the bad luck of this world was probably decided from the start.

Rosero happened to be serving by Glaysia’s side at that time, so he overheard a bit... the greatest danger beside Glaysia is this.

She never guards against her beloved pets, letting them in on all secrets.

However, are some things meant to be heard by existences of their status?

Rosero figured if he hadn’t reacted quickly enough, knowing that this world needs some Devils to settle in and constantly displaying unwavering loyalty to Glaysia, he’d already be living another damned life starting from a soul Worm striving to become a Duke of Demons.

It was only after he made it to this point that he truly understood why Glaysia’s favorites are consumed so quickly.

If some races naturally have strong desires and can’t accept falling out of favor, then for a Devil race like the one he was born into, which is inherently cold-blooded and emotionless, relying solely on imitation, how could they suddenly act foolish?

Turns out it’s because after falling out of favor, they were destroyed for knowing too much they shouldn’t have known.

Truly... being Glaysia’s male pet really requires constant vigilance, because the Princess of Hell truly doesn’t care about anything.

No wonder Rosero despises Fengo the most, he estimates the unlucky ones before him were cleaned out by this Hell Prosecutor.

Sometimes when Glaysia gets angry and shouts curses, it confirms this point.

So, a clever Devil like Rosero would never directly provoke Fengo over a small matter.

If, by any chance, when he’s in charge of cleaning the harem, he finds Rosero displeasing, he might just toss him in the trash to take out.

Fengo would absolutely do it!

Even if Glaysia would be unhappy, under the circumstances where this matter comes from the will of the Lord of Hell, she wouldn’t turn against her once beloved male pet.

Besides, what can she do, at most stir up some trouble for Fengo, cause a bit of chaos, she can’t actually kill that Hell Prosecutor.

Heh~

Asmodeus really doesn’t want to see his daughter have a harmonious relationship with his important ministers!

Hiss~ this matter within is probably very complex.

Forget it, anyway, it has nothing to do with him, he just needs to stay quietly on the side.

Instead of worrying about the headache-inducing future, he might as well find a way to get some benefits from Delphus.

Even if he can’t kill him, he must make him shed several layers of skin.

At the very least, the energy mine must be handed over.

This way, he can cultivate those particularly cute, pretty, and soft little boys under his command and divert Glaysia’s attention.

He will work hard, but at this time, the Succubus Queen had better have a new favorite.

Truly, Rosero is now terribly afraid of the inevitable reckoning with Asmodeus.

The one who is always by Glaysia’s side had better not be him... At this point, even if that newly ascended one is another selfish jerk who loves to play ’exclusive devotion’ games and banishes them all to some godforsaken corner, he would accept it.

After all, Glaysia usually tires of such games after a hundred years or so.

Except for the first encounter, which was overly intense and cost quite a few unwilling ones who didn’t want to leave their lives, afterward, Glaysia only drove people away, without killing them.

After all, it would be quite a challenge for the Succubus Queen, who can never be short of attendants.

So, it’s just wandering outside for a while.

By that time, Glaysia will still summon these honest people back... However, if it really comes to that, Rosero will still need the Energy Stones of this world.

He can choose to leave but absolutely cannot rely on past glories.

The importance of Delphus becomes evident at such times... Rosero believes he should be able to make use of him.

Not just for that energy mine.

When wandering in this world, it’s best to carry the soul that belongs to this world.

Moreover, although Delphus’s talents do not lean towards the Defense System, he must surely know many of the Defense Towers’ inherited spells: he should be quite adept at finding mines.

”Are you implying that I can’t really kill him?” ”Aislin,” who was silent and deep in thought for a while, asked with a reflective look, ”Does Delphus have any essential value?”

”Yes.

Although he is very foolish and selfish, what does that have to do with us?” Rosero answered candidly, ”His identity, though that most secret part is known to few people, is well-known for having been born of the Defense Tower yet choosing to completely defect, completely turning to Sia Tower, yet almost everyone knows about it.

We can look down on him, torment him, but it’s best not to let him die.

It’s easy for some with similar identities to overthink.

The reason we leave that dragon to wander outside is actually for similar reasons.

We must give those who want to rely on us of the Sia Tower a target they can use to claim credit... And those who have remained committed to their stance until now, either genuinely possess their own beliefs and can be sent to their deaths with respectful ceremonies.

The other kind are cautious individuals comparable to us devils, who will absolutely not present themselves until the final step, until the time of maximal benefits.

And these people, able to keep swaying, definitely have enough strength.

Therefore, individuals like Delphus, who are most notorious, with the worst character, and not accepted by either of our factions, must stay alive.

Don’t ask me why, this world is so important, it requires so much effort.

As long as the goal is not completely achieved, we must maintain this world’s last breath.

This is the order from the Lord of Hell, whether or not we understand it doesn’t matter, obeying is enough.”

He glanced again at ”Aislin”, who seemed to be pondering something... Although Asmodeus’s choice between Glaysia and her would be Glaysia.

But between him, Rosero, and her, no, it’s as if his mind has been burned by recent troubles to even dare mention such an utterly impossible comparison.

What does he amount to?

In the eyes of the Lord of Hell, he, a court Little Duke without the backing of power, is no different from a pit full of worms.

So even though Rosero knew that this lady must have some less-than-decent thoughts in mind, he still spoke with exceptional warmth: ”So, Miss Aislin, do you intend to allocate a portion to Mr. Gilbert Hainarson?”

”Just call him Gilbert.” ”Aislin” said indifferently, ”There are three Hainarsons in his tower!

Besides, although it was originally to avoid misunderstandings, we people from the Tower of Dark Enigma have grown accustomed to calling him by name.”

”The Hainarson Clan is not of such great importance.” Rosero smiled, ”Those who truly merit attention naturally disappear.”

”Aislin” cast him a sidelong glance: ”Why say such dull things?

We certainly understand that the Hainarson Clan is not really in the view of those with real power in Sia Tower, otherwise, they couldn’t survive at all.

But, we are also well aware that some petty people like to play tricks like uprooting enemies to show their loyalty.”
