Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Aislin pursed her lips: ”But I estimate that many people will want to probe my true identity.

So, Delphus, we should be able to find some allies.”

Ruth shook his head: ”The mages here in Sia Tower, those who have reached high-level, must have gone through rounds and rounds of purges.

This place indeed allows many people to live quite freely... but definitely not including the top tier.

Think about it carefully, and you’ll understand.

The lower-level mages, if they just want to protect themselves and not get involved in the battles of the upper-level mages, usually, the resources and external magical energy are enough for them to survive and advance.

When they reach intermediate level, they can be a bit more flexible, but they must be mindful of their interactions with others, within a certain range.

So, you should be able to see that people in this Magic Tower are accustomed to guarding against each other and even harming one another.

No matter who they are, even if just cooperating, they will backstab the moment cooperation ends.

If not for their lives being as scattered as sand grains, no, even less significant than sand, why else would there be so many Ninth Ring Archmages, thousands of Seven Rings, hundreds of Eight Rings...”

Ruth snorted mockingly: ”If you say that in the initial period, they looked at their peers, who might very well be spies for certain white or black robed individuals, with disdain or even vigilance, now they only carefully avoid them, and most people even flatter them.

Just like seeing your Pet.

She doesn’t know that the real instable factor here is you?

Of course, she knows.

But she prefers to figure out a way to approach Gilbert, even going through Delphus in a roundabout way... How many people will discover her purpose, and how many will want to get involved to gain more benefits!”

”Wait...” Aislin blinked, ”Teacher... Isn’t Pet’s goal the wealth of Delphus?”

”She won’t gain any wealth!” Ruth couldn’t help but look at her, ”Did you only understand half of what Gilbert said to you again?”

Seeing Aislin’s embarrassed smile, Ruth couldn’t help but press his forehead again... He felt that if this continued for another two years, he’d end up flattening his frown lines himself.

Oliva and Aislin, truly, each has their own uniqueness, each has their own deafness.

It seems Gilbert also realized she didn’t quite understand, which is why he brought out that Moonlight Rose Wine.

Ruth sighed lightly: ”You, repeat word for word what Gilbert told you!”

Fortunately, Aislin’s brain doesn’t turn quickly, but she hasn’t lost the memory abilities that an Eight Ring Archmage should have.

After hearing her word-by-word recount, Ruth furrowed his brows slightly... Gilbert’s emphasis seems to be on moonlight, yet, not quite.

That’s right, Gilbert kept insisting that Aislin’s preference for colors is very special, yes, peculiar.

If Gilbert also believes the soul within Aislin is Sia... then there’s one thing that is very interesting.

Ruth and Gilbert, alike, can feel that Aislin genuinely loves vibrant colors.

Although she paired bright purple with bright red for fun, these two colors are indeed her type.

So, why does the main soul, Sia, love white so much?

Gilbert’s persistent mention of moonlight... although moonlight is like water, often with a blue hue, yet, in their world, in human legends, moonlight is white.

White is the color most easily associated with moonlight.

After all, ordinary people have no chance to see what water-blue looks like, right?

Ruth gently turned his head, looking at the White Tower up in the clouds: his vision was sharp, naturally he could see the rotating, round observatory under the slender tower top.

Because of the Tower of Dark Enigma’s past, Ruth knew very well, such observatories used by Prophecy Mages can rotate... once those stargazer machines are installed, they cannot be moved again.

Yet the stars do not remain in one position.

So, observatories are usually movable facilities.

Nicholson’s original tower actually had one too, just not as big or as luxurious as the one on the White Tower, it’s just a small platform that can revolve around his spire.

Rather than the one on the White Tower, which almost automatically rotates according to the movement pattern of the stars.

So, Ruth hadn’t paid much attention to the sphere-like structure atop the White Tower... from Sia Tower’s act of eliminating all external Prophecy Mages, it can be seen that they have their own understanding of prophecy, and they trust it greatly.

Therefore, Sia Tower naturally has a tremendously powerful Prophecy Mage.

Prophecy Mages, such existences, don’t possess strong combat power, but they excel at evasion, even capable of confusing fate’s probing of them.

If it weren’t the case, they wouldn’t be able to make successful prophecies.

If they don’t proactively show themselves, truly powerful Prophecy Mages are actually not easy to capture.

But their biggest weakness is that when they disturb the Circle of Destiny, their aura will also be left behind.

A prophecy mage stronger than them... at least strong as the gap between Ninth Ring and Seven Rings... can use these auras to locate them.

So, either do not make true prophecies at all, or risk getting caught.

The Tower of Dark Enigma’s perfect defenses couldn’t block Sia’s prophecy mage’s gaze at them, Ruth didn’t think there could be any prophecy mage alive in the world.

If there really is, then it would only be a trap.

Therefore, no matter what prophecy comes from the Tower of Despair related to salvation, Ruth would never believe it... that’s just fooling the naive.

Fortunately, there are fewer fools than wise ones over at the Tower of Despair.

They can always stand in front of the Tower of Dark Enigma, blocking a lot of troublesome gazes.

Ruth glanced again at the White Tower: So, what is the relationship between the Moon and Sia?

Right, Bisozeya came for the name of the World Master, then, the clearly somewhat unknown relation with Sia, could it be Sia wants to become the Lord of the Silvermoon?

In this world of theirs, did only the original World Master, a deity, appear before?

Wait a minute, Ruth quickly refocused his thoughts to reality... those troublesome matters can be contemplated later, anyway, they are already deeply involved, and the enemy’s strength wouldn’t be affected by another moon.

After all, they couldn’t defeat them, they can only endure, endure until sometime, maybe something will come up.

Living long is good, living long, and anything is possible to see.

Ruth has always thought openly.

He is now more concerned with another hint from Gilbert: Not to attempt to use Moonlight Rose to make something like that fragrance candle which could enhance Aislin’s soul power, right?

Ruth knew clearly that if he discovered this Moonlight Rose indeed benefitted the soul, he would definitely try to give it to Aislin.

But, if this Moonlight Rose essentially came from Sia’s will... then the enhancement would only be the strength of another soul.

Ruth sighed secretly: Indeed, Gilbert’s observational skill is meticulous, and it seems he has done related experiments.

The final answer is, it is only fit for drinking as wine, right?

No, it can only be used for winemaking, nothing else should be done... Gilbert also asked for Aislin’s recipe, which proves that other ingredients are fine.

Only this Moonlight Rose.

Strange... why is winemaking not an issue?

-----------------

Hill stood quietly by the window, the steam-gray inner curtains danced with the wind, occasionally entwining and then separating from the smoke-gray outer curtains embroidered with gray-purple feather grass patterns, creating a serene and unnoticed corner for him.

Although the hall had windows open on the east and west sides, allowing the outside to easily sense the situation within the Magic Tower, the corner where Hill stood was the only isolated area.

He was never one to endure discomfort and certainly did not want to be watched while reading or eating in his own home.

Therefore, Hill finally chose this method: obscurity under the lamp, which should still be effective in this rather straightforward world.

The outside world could see Hill’s presence in this location.

But every angle at which the curtains were blown by the wind was carefully calculated by Hill to perfectly obscure his hand and face when he sat in the recliner.

Hill had no other way.

If indeed, as he speculated, part of the Silvermoon above had already been controlled by Sia, then most of his precautions were actually meaningless.

Moonlight is an existence that can invade everywhere invisibly and formlessly... unless you live in a place with absolutely no light.

Hill had always suspected: in a world like Teraxil, which was more complete from the beginning, the first deity born was the Earth, then the Sun and Moon.

In fact, their emergence time should be about the same, only because the Goddess of the Earth had her core early, she was born a bit earlier.

Thus, since the Earth appeared first, Teraxil’s Sun even appeared slightly before the Moon in darkness.

Generally speaking, the beginning of a world is tranquil and silent, only with the darkness does the Moon arise to give birth to deities first.

While in Toril, a somewhat flawed world with holes in its crystal wall, the first to be born were the twin moon goddesses.

The reason Toril naturally lacked a sun was because the world was destroyed by war before it fully formed, and then discovered and repaired by AO who left home over some trivial matter in Heavenly Mountain.

Though AO was powerful, he couldn’t allow a world that had stopped growing to develop again.

Therefore, Toril’s true native deities were only the twin moons.

However, regardless of whatever kind of world, Sun and Moon, there must be one.
