Surviving The Fourth Calamity

If Asmodeus is merely gambling on a possibility, then whether this world they inhabit exists or not is of little importance.

After all, since that statue has failed to absorb the nutrients beneath its feet, revealing divinity, it can be moved to another world at any time.

It’s essential to understand that not every statue can undergo Spirit Awakening, as this is unique.

Failure is the only possibility—there’s no risk of deviation.

And Glaysia has always been an impatient princess.

Humans bored her, so turning her attention to Fengo seems entirely normal.

Of course, he wasn’t willing, yet lacked the courage to stop it beforehand... Fengo is well aware that his status in the Lord of Hell’s eyes is no different from a dog at the palace gates.

The consequence of opposing Glaysia without evidence can only lead to one outcome: a dead end.

Bear in mind, Asmodeus’s entourage of fallen angels could easily eliminate several Great Devils out of momentary annoyance, or cause certain schemes of the Lord of Hell to fail, their punishment merely being enclosed in ice to ponder over, emerging after a hundred or eighty years... not even needing to admit fault, but merely promising to be more careful next time.

Ha~ whether to be cautious in not repeating the mistake, or not getting caught again, remains to be seen.

For Devils like them without solid backing, reliant on the Lord of Hell to survive, the best scenario would be a thousand-year confinement within an ice mountain.

But the more likely outcome is being crushed to dust, starting anew as a Soul Worm.

Fengo has witnessed the fate of those who believed their unwavering loyalty should make them more important to Asmodeus, deciding never to become one of those fools!

In the Lord of Hell’s mind, these Primeval Devil subordinates were with him solely for the power and rights they could acquire from him... and that’s not wrong.

Thus, Asmodeus has granted the Devils what they desire.

This is Hell’s survival philosophy, the Lord of Hell’s notion of equivalent exchange.

Yet having gained power and rights, dreaming of Asmodeus’s true feelings... those Devils were indeed courting death.

But perhaps because the Lord of Hell was so benevolent to his angels, so much so that some Devils can’t resist their desires... Certainly, winning Asmodeus’s affection would indeed be the highest delicacy achievable, unparalleled by any other existence, for a desire-driven Devil.

Fengo, however, won’t deem those desire-blinded Devils insane; anyhow, he wouldn’t be that foolish.

In Hell, where desires overflow, even Devils born and bred are tested by desire.

Fengo has lived long enough to understand that even the previous Lord of Hell had been reduced to ashes, his innumerable years of accumulated energy eventually devoured by Hell, due to failing to restrain his desires.

A small character like him is even less worth mentioning.

To survive, never consider oneself a bigshot.

Bizesoya, not aspiring to be Queen but fully supporting Asmodeus’s ascendancy—could it be she’s truly devoid of desire?

How impossible!

Though she indeed couldn’t stabilize her reign amidst the covetous eyes of many Dukes of Demons, she wasn’t incapable of it.

Otherwise, the foreign Lord of Fallen Angels couldn’t have become the Lord of Hell so effortlessly with Bizesoya’s assistance.

Bizesoya simply dared not indulge her emotions while the entire Royalty faced Hell’s consumption.

Before marrying Asmodeus, her personality wasn’t as cold and self-disciplined as afterward... she indeed didn’t want extended interactions with Asmodeus—not due to disinterest in romantic affairs.

She’s terrified that overwhelming desire might attract Hell’s awareness to an unconsumed Royal Family Member within.

Hence, even after granting many of her Princess of Devils traits to Glaysia, Bizesoya still ended up a corpse in her palace, under Asmodeus’s guarded palace.

Frankly, Fengo doubts Asmodeus can resurrect the Queen of Hell.

But, what’s to say... Whether the Lord of Hell desires the true Bizesoya or merely the name, Fengo can’t be certain.

If the Lord of Hell truly wished for the original Princess of Hell, how could he let Glaysia decide?

The Princess, inheriting Hell Devil’s most selfish nature, may not truly adore her biological mother.

No, it’s more accurate to say she might want her biological mother to return, but only if the returning one isn’t stronger than the Bizesoya who bore her... though unsure about the deities’ perceptions, in Hell, if parental powers are equal, offspring might inherit characteristics from both.

If the father’s power slightly exceeds, it depends on how much maternal capacity can accommodate paternal power and how much maternal power she’s willing to bestow... this greatly influences the attributes of their offspring.

Even when Asmodeus was gravely injured back then, he was still stronger than Bizesoya.

And to show his sincerity, Bizesoya indeed gave it his all.

Don’t be fooled by Glaysia’s seemingly careless demeanor, her fundamental attributes are actually incredibly powerful.

Her lax attitude is simply because she chooses to be, not because she can’t achieve otherwise.

That said, Fengo also thought that Glaysia might cause trouble but wouldn’t outright prevent Bizesoya’s return—definitely inheriting some of the worst traits of angels.

In this world, committing evil and being thoroughly bad doesn’t mean much, especially for demons who are inherently symbols of Hell... But being not bad enough, always leaving a thread of hope for others, that’s really courting death.

It’s just that Glaysia’s own abilities are strong, and the person backing her is indeed someone nobody dares to provoke, allowing her to live so freely.

Heh~ And through Bizesoya’s unexpected demise, Asmodeus ended up protecting Glaysia even more thoroughly.

Moreover, during the chaos, because Glaysia was Mamon’s wife, the most ideal path for that guy to meddle with hellish sovereignty, she was excluded from the hunting range and thus remained unharmed.

Yet, Fengo, who has seen too many devils, could sense that trace of abnormality: the one who killed Bizesoya had no good relationship with Mamon.

He dared to rebel, so would he leave such a big advantage to his opponent?

Therefore, he surely must have attempted to move against Glaysia too.

Then, Bizesoya, staying deep within the palace under layers of protection from Asmodeus, was eliminated.

Mamon, who dared not openly make a move against Asmodeus, only dared to sneakily wait behind the scenes for a fisherman’s gain, yet ended up safeguarding Glaysia.

Who would believe that?

Also, on that day, it was practically heaven’s will... even if there was an insider, it was excessively smooth.

Bizesoya truly met his destined end.

Asmodeus also understood this, otherwise, he wouldn’t have just sealed the murderer in the ice cave... He had a remarkable tolerance.

If the Lord of Hell had killed that guy, the tiny trace, possibly the only trace, of living will of hell he possessed might return to its main body.

Then, slowly grow again.

However, Asmodeus didn’t make a move, he just devised means to drive that guy insane... Even if it came out, it would probably live like a brainless stupid demon.

Therefore, the Lord of Hell could so easily wield hell’s primary control... in the absence of resistance from the deep consciousness of the nine layers of hell.

To this day, Fengo still hasn’t figured out whether Asmodeus’s intention to resurrect Bizesoya is genuine... he dare not take a single step further, nor would he meddle in whatever Glaysia is scheming with that ’Aislin’.

He hasn’t even explored what exactly Aislin is about.

After all, some things can only be faintly glimpsed by demons like him who serve closely beside Asmodeus, and even then, Fengo couldn’t be sure if this is what the Lord of Hell intended for them to see.

The master he follows is too enigmatic... Even if you think Asmodeus has prepared eight hundred possibilities for one thing, once you block all eight hundred, the outcome might just be the eight hundred and first possibility.

For such an existence, avoiding psychological games with him is the only way to survive.

He just needs to prepare for whatever may come and at most, caution his mages from the Black Faction to stay away from Miss Aislin.

Even if it means postponing many prepared plans against Ruth and the Tower of Dark Enigma behind him, it’s better than letting Glaysia catch them in the act... That princess is quite willing to eliminate these loyal dogs of her biological father... Just because she is displeased.

Or, accidentally taking one misstep and winding up dead by their master’s trap is definitely stronger.

If enduring some hardship could win favor with the Lord of Hell, Fengo would naturally be willing to take some risks.

But under the current circumstances, playing dumb is his only choice.

As for the always scheming Glaysia who wants to play tricks with him... in this aspect, she has indeed inherited some angelic attributes.

A bit too straightforward.

Standing on the deep dark Black Tower... Thanks to the towering White Tower, even though his Black Tower is quite tall, the difference between under and above the white clouds is noticeable by everyone, affirming who the real master of the Sia Tower is... Above, Fengo stared intently in another direction with deep eyes.

Compared to his Black Tower, only a few kilometers from the White Tower, standing in a clearly submissive posture, several kilometers away, a dozen Magic Towers of similar height and varying colors form an unmistakable tower group.

Fengo’s lips tugged slightly: After nurturing them for so long, they’re finally of great use.
