Surviving The Fourth Calamity

If there is something in this world that can attract their attention the most, it must be the wealth of Delphus.

The vast resources and money collected by that Archmage are all entangled with complex desires.

Especially everything obtained from the Defense Tower... the people from the Defense Tower will undoubtedly be filled with resentment towards Delphus for his actions.

Indeed, Delphus was mistakenly sent to Sia Tower due to family turmoil, but likewise, he wasn’t taught how to hide his existence, nor was he expected to excel.

If he resents the people of the Defense Tower and his family, wouldn’t just being the Archmage of Sia Tower suffice?

Not everyone knows the true identity of Delphus... even those who do, cannot understand why he would have the terrifying thought that since the Defense Tower wouldn’t belong to him, it might as well not exist.

In most people’s hearts, Delphus merely took another path... and it wasn’t necessarily a bad one.

Having entered the resource-rich Sia Tower, he doesn’t need to carry those heavy burdens. With Delphus’s qualifications, becoming a Neutral Archmage like Pet is definitely not difficult.

Frankly speaking, many mages in the Neutral Faction of Sia Tower have similar backgrounds.

That’s why Delphus’s choice even astonished the Devils.

It is precisely because of his excessively crazy desires, and the endless resentment surrounding him... while the smell on Delphus may be foul, the scent of money flowing from his hands is fragrant.

If it were only those resources, letting Rosero handle them, Fengo’s subordinates wouldn’t really feel anything.

But that wonderfully tempting aroma... who wouldn’t want a taste of such a lavish feast?

However, although Fengo can understand their lack of self-control, he absolutely does not permit facing it in his name.

As for a personal feud, the people on Rosero’s side should also be psychologically prepared.

The reason he must notify in advance is that he does not want to provoke a conflict between the two major factions.

In fact, Fengo must thank Rosero for extending a friendly hand.

After all, if he’s not careful, he might get dragged into that heap of Graysia’s mess again.

Fengo is well aware that his desire to protect himself without wanting to get involved is practically written all over his face, held high above his head.

So, it’s normal for Rosero to see through him; after all, that guy is also good at running away... Over the years, just Fengo alone has tidied up Graysia’s Royal Palace over a dozen times, and that guy always manages to avoid those thorough purges.

Rosero must undoubtedly be a Devil who isn’t greedy and knows his limits well.

But does Fengo think he’s a fool?

In the past, he couldn’t run because the will of the Lord of Hell was upon him, otherwise, he would certainly have fled faster than that guy.

Fengo lightly tossed the pen in his hand onto the desk... he knew he was getting a bit too restless.

With his understanding of that guy Rosero, if he were his normal self, in times of escape, he would only choose to give Fengo a kick, causing Fengo misery to bring himself joy.

The hand that Rosero extended can only prove that the situation Graysia stirred up this time really has that guy in disarray... even forgot about past grievances, with even thoughts of wanting to join forces with him surfacing!

Fengo took a deep breath.

What did the Princess of Hell do this time?

What could be more terrifying than her thinking that her beloved Mamon is more important than her own father and qualified to become the Lord of Hell?

After all, Rosero can drink and make merry without changing expression while listening to Graysia curse her own father on the throne every day!

To have him panic like this... did Graysia really do something with her hands this time, rather than just saying something?

Could it be, collaborating with a certain Abyssal Lord... hehe~ haha... fortunately, no man matching Graysia’s preferences grows in the Bottomless Abyss, as their innate chaotic aura would only disgust the Princess of Hell.

What else can Fengo do?

Fengo can only choose to drown himself in work.

Clenching his fist, the Hell Prosecutor resolutely initiated the most dreadful and maddening work mode: a thorough inspection of all his controlled intelligence agencies... whether in the infinite planes or the ever-changing nine layers of hell.

Only this way, when Asmodier settles accounts, can he easily pass... even the Lord of Hell deeply understands that this work will wear a Great Devil down to an Old Witch.

Asmodeus would rather painstakingly handle subordinates who develop excessive ambitions due to too much power than take back this job onto himself.

”It seems that our Black Artist indeed understands the art of living.”

Standing on the Cloud Realm terrace of the White Tower, Rosero smiled and spoke, his exquisite white silk robe embroidered with patterns in the same color fluttering in the wind, while the silk cape of the same color billowed like swan’s wings.

The Female Mage standing behind him, hidden within her disheveled long hair, had a pair of brown eyes that revealed uncontrollable admiration.

However, the cold wind abruptly awoke her to where she was standing and whose presence she was in.

So she immediately lowered her head and calmly replied, ”Yes.

But he did not stop his subordinates from taking action privately.”

”That’s enough,” Rosero sneered, ”I might actually lose to that bunch of fools already blinded by greed?

When even their superiors dare not stir, they still dare to act... tsk, Fengo, does he want me to help him clean his house for free?

”Damn~”

Although his tone was cold, the female mage listening felt that Rosero was not as angry as he appeared.

Though the reason was unclear.

But as a wise individual who could become a direct subordinate of Rosero in the White Tower, she absolutely believed that this shrewd and capable Archmage had not suffered a loss.

Since that ’Black Artist’ chose to remain silent while Rosero took action, it must be because he knew Rosero could gain enough benefits from it.

Rosero was just displeased about not being able to gain more advantage, rather than having to work for nothing.

She had followed Rosero for over a thousand years and had never seen him truly suffer a loss.

”Spread the word about my dealings with the Black Tower,” Rosero calmly instructed, ”Make sure everyone in the White Tower knows.”

”Yes.” The female mage paused for a few seconds before asking softly, ”Don’t you need to warn them not to make a move?”

”When I’m about to take action myself?” Rosero chuckled, ”Who needs warning?

The wise will naturally know what choice to make.

And the unwise...”

Aren’t they exactly what he needs?

Rosero didn’t care about the fools from the Black Tower trying to meddle, but it would be nice if he could save some effort.

As long as someone in the White Tower dared to interfere, he had absolute confidence to have them fight each other first.

In that case... he would even be spared the little trouble of cleaning up the aftermath!

Rosero absolutely believed in the devils’ sensitivity to money.

”The weather today is really nice!” Hill muttered softly.

”Teacher? What are you talking about?” Russell walked in from outside, looking at him in confusion... how was the weather with those gloomy clouds outside nice?

Hill smiled at him, ”The wind is quite refreshing.”

Russell reached out his hand, feeling the strong wind that made the thick drapes flutter wildly and almost stick to the walls, and couldn’t help but blink.

What kind of shock had their teacher experienced?

”Carpenter has returned to his room.”

Considering that their teacher’s thinking was always unpredictable, Russell decided to temporarily stop thinking and shift the topic to a more realistic matter, ”Teacher, should I... should I stay here?”

”The safest place in the Magic Tower is your rooms,” Hilbert looked at him with a smile, ”Rather than staying with me to face formidable foes, the best decision for you is to stay somewhere that puts me at ease.

I don’t want to enact a melodrama of ’Put down my student, and we can talk about anything.’”

Russell sighed helplessly, ”It seems like teacher is in a really good mood today.”

”Do you know, Russell,” Hilbert said very seriously, ”Preventing a power struggle in the name of love from happening is a virtue.”

Russell blinked, suddenly a strange thought came to his mind: Why did he feel like what the teacher said had something to do with him?

Could it be... someone had taken a liking to him?

He couldn’t help but shudder: a powerful female mage related to his teacher would either be Pet or... Aislin.

Pet only made him feel cold, but Aislin... Russell couldn’t help but glance at the open window.

Unaware of his student’s thought about a tragic end of ’in worse trouble, better jump out the window,’ Hilbert was still happily smiling: ”Ah, destiny~ truly wonderful.

So, Russell, hurry back to your room and stay put~”

Russell nodded, decisively choosing to obey.

Hmm?

Hill was a bit surprised watching Russell’s back as he turned and walked towards the corridor.

He thought Russell would argue with him for a while!

Why was the kid so obedient today?

With Russell’s intelligence, he certainly knew that Hill had a very high chance of winning today’s battle.

He and Carpenter wouldn’t face much trouble even if they stayed here.

Hilbert chose to let them stay in their rooms to guard against any potential sneaky observers.

For example, that Graysia who was surely squatting on top of the White Tower, watching his clone’s combat strategy.

If the original development model proceeded as Hill imagined... Tsk, better not to think about it.

Anyway, the current Russell absolutely wouldn’t become a heartbroken, weak man in need of rescue due to being tormented by fate, hunted by enemies, or oppressed by his mentor.
