Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Rosero was truly impressed by Ruth’s insight.

Never mind Oliva, at least with that guy’s talents, he could rank among the top in Sia Tower as well.

Aislin, though the former one was insane, was at least loyal and adept at handling miscellaneous matters... As someone responsible for similar work, Rosero knew very well that someone who could handle daily chores both internally and externally, upward and downward, without complaints except for being domineering and unreasonable, was definitely not simple.

Whether this ability stemmed from Glaysia’s soul, or from those soul fragments of top-tier powerhouses, it at least proved the complexity of this woman in front of him.

The always rampant Glaysia would never circle around like ”Aislin” does.

If he really treated ”Aislin” and Glaysia as the same person, that would be truly foolish.

This was the main reason why Rosero absolutely dared not act rashly... In the devil’s rules, striking without understanding the opponent means that the miserable death is your own fault.

And that Gilbert, who had exceptional talent in magic arrays, was not someone to be trifled with.

Rosero initially thought the sharing of Delphus matters with Aislin was due to his obvious backing relationship with her.

Of course, this is indeed a significant reason.

But it is not the most important one.

After all, the resources Pet used to entice Gilbert seemed more useful for Seventh and Eighth Ring Mages... But in reality, for the Ninth Ring Archmage, especially Ruth, who doubles as the faction leader, those items were worth taking action for.

Even if it would cause some dissatisfaction from Sia Tower, it didn’t matter; if it could bring out two more Ninth Ring Archmages from the Tower of Dark Enigma, wouldn’t their confidence be stronger?

This is an open scheme.

As long as Ruth takes action himself, regardless of whether the other calculations succeed or not, at least this archmage’s combat style and even some defensive spells will be exposed... Delphus’s strength is still undeniable.

Indeed, no one believed the rumors that Ruth only knew one or two Ninth Ring Spells.

And Ruth, as a foreign archmage, even if he won this victory, could not entirely monopolize these resources.

Fighting hard, even exposing his secrets, yet still having to voluntarily cede his spoils due to external pressures... Such suffocation is enough to prevent that archmage from progressing in the short term!

A very simple open scheme, unless Ruth can remain completely untempted... But if so, what about Gilbert?

Even if Ruth immediately rushed over to protect Gilbert upon discovering he was attacked, in the mage’s world, merely taking hits without retaliation only meant they willingly took a lower position.

An overly weak Ruth, could he still hold his ground before other archmages?

Would the other two Ninth Ring Archmages from the Tower of Dark Enigma still respect Ruth as they did before?

That Gilbert probably understood the real purpose the moment Pet spoke.

Understanding it is fine; Rosero thought he just didn’t think it through carefully, otherwise, his intelligence wouldn’t have missed that point.

He didn’t mind that his thinking wasn’t thorough... After all, Rosero rarely paid attention to the so-called Neutral Faction.

In his heart, those people, the longer they live, the worse their end, and they will eventually die without peace.

A person destined for demise, no matter how splendid their struggle before death, is merely a magnificent performance on stage.

On the contrary, those from the Tower of Dark Enigma might live to the end.

After all, in this world, as long as the Lord of Hell needs their faith power, a portion of human powerful individuals with independent souls must remain.

The external rebels must be killed, and as for the submissive within their ranks... Ha~ how can slaves have free souls?

The Tower of Dark Enigma is quite suitable.

Knowing one’s identity and status well, being sensible, and not crazily pursuing power, they can be put to use.

But for Gilbert to think, after understanding, of pulling him into the water through Aislin is indeed too shrewd and capable.

Indeed, having him take action is the best way.

Delphus, though daring to strike Ruth’s newly arrived student, would never dare to resist when Rosero stands forth.

He understood very well that to live so freely despite being loathed by most people, achieving the position of the main force attacking the Defense Tower, was all due to the favor of the real rulers of Sia Tower.

Even if this favor was based on his shamelessness and ruthlessness.

But now, Delphus would become even more unscrupulous instead.

He really had no other choice... If he couldn’t make himself the most conspicuous of the world’s renegades, he would find himself in a life-threatening situation.

Just like now, how could the magic towers on the continent, especially the Great Magic Towers like the Tower of Despair with some resistance left, not detest this Delphus?

They too have sent out quite a few infiltrators.

If everyone were like Delphus, resulting in being unwillingly sent out and even abandoned by parents and family, and willing to completely destroy the home that once sheltered them, then what hope would they have?

Although, the future Magic Tower will certainly strive to ensure that those they send out are willing to sacrifice nobly for the family and the world, but, how to put it... there will always be those who are passionate just because they are foolish.

At the critical moment, they will realize what path they have truly chosen, and at that moment, it will feel as if they were deceived, forced to choose this path, which is only human nature.

Such people appear from time to time in the Sia Tower.

Although they became much fewer after Delphus appeared, there are still some.

Especially since these people actually quite hope they could be like Delphus.

But even devils from Hell are actually more willing to accept people like Delphus.

Though he also betrayed his family and the world, and was quite ruthless and ungracious, at least there was a bit of reason.

Hell creatures can actually understand people like Delphus: just like their devil contracts, they don’t break them without reason, do they?

But later those kinds of people, even devils don’t want to deal with those souls, they’re too foul, only fit to be ground into sludge and thrown into ponds to feed worms.

This is the main reason Delphus has instead gained a very decent position in the Sia Tower... If he were gone, would they expect the noble Glaysia to meet those foul souls?

Delphus may not be pleasant, but at least he can be tolerated for a short time.

Of course, all of this is on the premise that Gilbert confirms Ruth will not resent him for being excluded and denied those expensive resources.

And, Gilbert himself must have no trace of greedy desire... If it was Ruth making the move, then he naturally would qualify to take a share.

Also, Gilbert doesn’t care at all about his status in the Ruth Faction.

This matter, in the end, will inevitably be no secret... whatever happened, Pet and the others will definitely not conceal it.

Rosero doesn’t believe that all of Ruth’s students have such strong rationality and clear judgment.

They won’t hate or dare to resent Aislin for dragging Rosero into the battle, only resent the overly clear and understanding Gilbert.

But they can’t do anything else, at most just form a small group to ostracize Gilbert.

To be honest, Rosero, having thought through all this, quite admires this Seventh Circle Mage.

The speed of reaction needed to find a method of breaking the impasse instantly is almost comparable to those big shots from Toril who emerged from circles of moral ambiguity.

Rosero certainly knows that Gilbert, though not very old, has experienced enough complexity.

All these indeed can let a person grow swiftly... The people of Toril also learned how to quickly drag the most suitable people into their predicament after facing countless cruel hands.

But, there’s a basic requirement, which is that this person must innately be very clever and shrewd.

Otherwise... hmm... although ’Aislin’ can think of Gilbert’s motives so quickly, it’s because they know each other too well, and this lady absolutely refuses to believe any goodwill from Gilbert, which indeed comes from good intentions.

But it also proves her ability to think is very outstanding.

How to say... Rosero doesn’t know whether to hope it’s because Glaysia is inherently excellent, just raised into this bizarre temperament by scheming and calculating parents. Or must he admit, even when sliced like sashimi, a powerful and inherently excellent person still glows and radiates.

He always feels that either is a humiliation to Hell.

But it seems it can’t be said that way.

Right?

To enable the family’s princess to live worry-free and freely in such a terrible Hell, filled with darkness and scheming, is not something anyone can achieve.

Just, it would be good if whoever raised her would bear the consequences, not let outsiders share this ’sweet torment’.

Rosero gently closed his eyes before asking calmly, ”Miss Aislin, can you give me a certain time?

Three days, or five days?

I also need to deal with some small troubles that may arise.

For example, Fengo’s subordinates.”

”Fengo? He doesn’t need resources from this world, right?” ’Aislin’ raised her head and asked puzzledly, ”He also needs to sustain... um... wasn’t it said that his eyes are being nurtured on the Neutral Faction’s side?”

Rosero rolled his eyes helplessly... he certainly understood the underlying meaning of the words this lady took back.

Every time he felt the excellence of ’Aislin’, that princess’s rashness would recklessly surface again.

”He has raised quite a few like those from Kamente Tower.” Rosero answered frankly, ”Though they are completely controlled dogs, when they bring back prey in their jaws, you still have to give some dog food.”
