Surviving The Fourth Calamity

The outer defensive magic array of the Hilbert Territory is quite easy to be breached.

After all, although he received abundant resources sufficient to create a powerful array, the energy baryte in Hilbert’s hands couldn’t withstand such colossal consumption.

So, the outer array mainly serves as an initial defense, and the moment it gets damaged, it triggers the full defense mode of the Magic Tower.

And it also activates an alarm.

When Delphus and a Ninth Ring Sorceress behind him, along with three Eight Ring Male Mages, waved their hands spiritedly to break through this thin layer of the defensive array, they were shocked by the terrifying and ear-bleeding noise.

Not to mention, the fact that Gilbert, as a Seventh Circle Mage, having such an unreasonable first reaction to an attack to seek help... Mages, few are willing to owe favors, including from their own teachers.

So generally, when faced with a malicious attack, they would try to struggle on their own.

What if the opponent is someone they can actually defeat?

Owing personal favors isn’t much better than owing high-interest loans! Especially for mages.

Isn’t Gilbert Hainarson worried that this might be a probing attack?

What if Delphus decided to let someone else make a move first?

Why would an Archmage set up such an instantly blaring distress signal... What on earth is Gilbert thinking!

Where is his mage pride?

And what the hell is this sound!

How can it be so excruciating to hear?

Even high-level spells using sonic waves to attack others aren’t as damaging as this!

With his ears feeling a little itchy, Hilbert tilted his head and felt very satisfied inside.

Ever since getting acquainted with Little Golden Dragon Terry, he realized just how much surprising impact terrifying noise can have on people.

Although these guys aren’t worthy of the Golden Dragon’s snoring bell, the noise Carpenter makes when practicing the violin, stacked together, is enough to make anyone feel numb all over: Even though it’s the same tune, Carpenter could play every single scale with the same violin, and seldom make repeated mistakes.

What made Hill utterly incredulous was that if listened to carefully, Carpenter’s piece was actually played correctly.

Of course, he only listened a couple of times before completely giving up on investigating Carpenter’s artistic training.

Having money solves everything, doesn’t it?

There are so many art teachers at Sia Tower eager to make money! Why should he suffer himself?

However, Hill later discovered that when these noises are layered together, the damage to the eardrums grows exponentially.

If you understand a bit of music, it’s really... You might even have the urge to burst your own eardrums.

But for Hill, who had endured Terry’s terrifying snores, it wasn’t unbearable at all.

Besides, he had excellent ear protection.

They were premium enough to filter even Little Golden Dragon’s snores down to only one-third!

With arms crossed and a mischievous smile, Hill watched the group of Archmages frozen at the edge of his territory... How is Hainarson’s welcoming ceremony?

Isn’t it worth enjoying?

It’s a musical welcome, after all!

Feeling that the dreadful noise finally stopped, Hillbert, his ears well-protected with fluffy earmuffs, barely affected by the Magic Tower, smiled as he took the little earmuffs off.

Meanwhile, in an auxiliary tower a distance away, someone else suffered the same violent impact... Ms. ’Aislin’, waiting by the window for a chance, listening intently, was about to lose her mind.

As for whether Gilbert had considered the particularly art-loving lady, he knew deep down.

”Gilbert, are you crazy?” ’Aislin’ looked absurdly at Rosero, who was also covering his ears, ”Is he asking for help or for death?

Now, more than Delphus, I just want to beat him to death, okay?”

”Hmm... think about it, everyone at Sia Tower who is paying attention here will hear this noise, maybe you can take some solace from that?” Rosero suggested meaningfully.

’Aislin’ was stunned, suddenly turning to look at the towering White Tower... Knowing Glaysia as she did, that guy must have prepared thoroughly, waiting to watch the whole show.

If she had not had her own plans, ’Aislin’ wouldn’t have rushed onto the stage to be this actor?

Although she had suffered quite a lot, just the thought of how it must hit Glaysia with ears centered at the battlefield, ’Aislin’ could almost laugh out loud joyfully, couldn’t she?

Although Gilbert set her up, the one suffering the most, undoubtedly, is the perceptive Glaysia, and that Fengo!

No matter which of these two has bad luck, it would bring her immense joy.

Aislin raised an eyebrow: ”Sounds pretty good, I listened this time.

Hehe~ Speaking of which, Gilbert always manages to surprise people when he’s setting them up.”

-----------------

Although he appeared calm, Hilbert had been constantly focused on the bright full moon hanging high in the sky.

Tonight, the night sky was brilliant with stars, and the moonlight flowed like water.

The round full moon seemed to be hanging above the tall White Tower, even the clouds usually covering the top of the White Tower stepped aside for this full moon.

At this moment, the White Tower looked like an elegant goddess in a white robe holding a round moonlit lamp, gently watching over the believers on the earth.

However, the horrible noise rising into the sky caused ripples to appear on that moonlit lamp.

Although it soon calmed down, and the exterior still looked as smooth and perfect as a crystal lampshade, Hill had already confirmed his hypothesis.

Glaysia, using some special means, had successfully bound herself to the Silvermoon.

Her approach was actually similar to what Teraxil’s Goddess of the Hunt and Lord of the Moon Elves did in the past.

However, the Goddess of the Hunt did have the right of succession to the moon... as long as the Silvermoon Goddess truly fell, the moon without its master might not relay control to her, but would still grant her some control power.

As for the Lord of the Moon Elves, she was significantly lacking, but with the help of the Elven God King, setting up a brainless Goddess of the Hunt to seize most of her power wouldn’t be too difficult.

Don’t be fooled by the Elven God King; although he seems pretty silly, he knows very well how to maneuver within the god system... just like those spoiled brats who, although they might trouble their parents, definitely know how to operate their trading accounts.

In soap operas, there’s always some fool whose brain is like a puffer fish and can’t use a credit card without a secretary, but normal spoiled brats know how to spend money and wouldn’t genuinely be unaware if they’ve swiped a card or how much they’ve spent.

In short, their schemes are brutal but not impossible to execute.

This was a sin the Teraxil Silvermoon Goddess brought upon herself; otherwise, she wouldn’t have been so compliant later on.

Although she seemed to pass all the blame to those Silvermoon Elves, everyone knew in their hearts who was truly at fault.

However, this is why the current Teraxil has the most compliant Silvermoon Goddess.

Having caused a catastrophe that almost wiped out her entire family right after birth, the Teraxil Silvermoon Goddess didn’t even want to see a single tree in her Divine Kingdom.

Hill quietly watched the full moon, completely ignoring the figure rushing towards his Magic Tower.

He had more important matters to consider... just how did Glaysia gain control over the Silvermoon?

Even if the world’s will is on the brink of collapse, it’s not completely shattered yet!

Moreover, devils could parasitize upon a subordinate deity and slowly impersonate them if they are Faith Gods...

For an innate deity like the Silvermoon Goddess, connected to the world’s aura, it’s easy to kill but not to replace.

Unless a deity from another world, even if they couldn’t directly control the moon of this world, could still gain certain privileges, gradually intruding into the core of Silvermoon through faith power.

Just like in Gerns, where Shaer could control Dark Moon, while Rose, also hiding on the moon, could do nothing.

So, what method precisely did Glaysia use to acquire Silvermoon’s aura?

Hill was compelled to focus his gaze on a not-so-normal clone.

In crafting the clone ’Aislin’, Glaysia used a soul shard... no, divine soul fragments aren’t so easily merged into a human soul.

Aislin, although slightly extreme, wasn’t genuinely insane.

Her personality more closely resembled Glaysia’s, and any differences could only be attributed to the soul shard used as filler for Glaysia’s sliver of soul, hiding some of its spiritual flashes.

Amidst the spell-illuminated sky, Hill couldn’t help but pinch his fingers, as he finally discovered his greatest weakness.

Due to his innate purity... including spiritual... he had no interest in some evil spells and especially loathed memorizing those nasty alchemical recipes.

He used to think that knowing a little bit was enough to avoid trouble in case things went wrong.

Now, however, faced with the current situation, he found himself at a loss.

There must be something he overlooked, but he really couldn’t figure it out at the moment.

Frustrated, Hill raised his head to look at the ugly man wielding a giant crossbow: You’re asking for it, aren’t you?
