Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 642: Chapter The Shadow Behind the Chaos of the Magical Beast

Alice, as a Spirit of Nature, cannot tell a lie.

Moreover, she cannot tell a lie in front of Hill.

Although the Natural Will of Felunryel does not care for Hill as attentively as Teraxil does, Hill would still be warned if someone lied in front of him.

So even if not all of her complex emotions had been expressed, Alice’s heart truly felt this way; she did not wish to reconcile with the Leopard just yet, but if Merkel was willing to be her Magical Beast, she was willing to accept him.

Perhaps this was why she had fallen for the black panther. Despite their many conflicts, Merkel understood her too well.

Alice initially chose to become a cat instead of a deer like most Spirits of Nature, probably because of the stubbornness and possessiveness that filled her heart.

Hill glanced at the dead leopard on the ground, still unable to comprehend the reason behind Merkel and Alice’s actions.

In his mind, a breakup should be clear cut, and forgiveness should be granted unequivocally without dwelling on the past.

The worst outcome Hill had imagined was Alice easily forgiving the leopard, considering their breakup had been tainted with too many conspiracies and deceptions.

Neither Alice nor the black panther would be content with that.

Hill had no interest in playing Juliet’s Dad.

Once upon a time, Hill was someone who greatly disliked others meddling in his romantic life, so he wouldn’t interfere with Alice’s choices either.

All he could do was provide a home for his self-released child to return to and heal whenever necessary.

Therefore, Hill was also prepared to strike the leopard with eighty-one slashes if needed.

Even so, it wasn’t that Hill couldn’t understand; at most, he would vent his frustrations.

If his daughter’s heart was no longer in it, could he, as a father, forcibly keep her confined at home?

Moreover, the leopard previously did not have time to learn the Transformation Spell. Without several decades, he could only stare blankly at Alice.

Of course, the best outcome would be for both of them to part ways completely, one returning to Teraxil to weep at the moon, and the other accompanying Hill on adventures across the world.

If that were the case, Hill wouldn’t intervene and would simply use a whirlwind to send the leopard away.

But what was this situation?

Why would Alice prefer this outcome?

Was this a breakup or not?

Hill sighed softly, perhaps still too influenced by his previous life; even with his carefree attitude, he had a conservative take on some matters. Alice, even though he raised her, her thoughts still belonged to this world.

Just like those Goddesses of Love and Beauty, if they were in Hill’s previous country, they would only be considered wanton and shameless; now, Hill respected them but dared not approach.

But in this world, this represented the freedom of nature and the release of divine essence.

Hill was somewhat worried; would Alice’s future path also lead down this road?

Spirits of Nature were never strictly orderly or kind!

”Hill’s Dad! What do you think about making Merkel learn a court dance?” Alice’s thoughts were so jumpy that Hill became a bit scared, ”Marsha taught me yesterday, and it was very difficult for me!

If I’m tired from learning, I’ll just have him dance to cheer me up.

Now, he absolutely must listen to me!”

Marsha quietly appeared, quickly directing the puppets to take the leopard downstairs.

Hill shook his head and lowered his voice, ”Once he has recovered, clarify the identity of that person who was secretly instigating the Magical Beast.”

He definitely hasn’t told the humans.”

Alice smiled and agreed, then also slipped away.

Hill watched her excitedly retreating figure with annoyance, deciding not to ponder the girl’s way of thinking anymore.

This was Alice’s choice, and he wouldn’t interfere too much.

But Alice, if you continue to be so capricious, you may lose your identity as a Spirit of Nature and become completely human.

Her heart is now becoming very complex, almost to the limit of what a Spirit of Nature can handle.

Hill worried that the day she became a Demigod would be the day she lost the favor of the Natural Consciousness.

Hill sat back down in his place, lost in thought.

Who was this hidden enemy?

It couldn’t possibly be the Devil or Demon, let alone a minion of the Evil God.

To tempt those Magical Beasts, it couldn’t be a day or two’s effort; it would require a long-term plan, and Alice, who was stationed in the Royal Palace, would definitely not fail to sense any evil presence nearby.

Hill sighed; how could a Petrification Spell just appear out of nowhere? Now, he could only wait 12 hours before questioning the leopard further.

This was because the leopard was a Demigod Level Earth System Magical Beast; otherwise, it would have been 48 hours.

Merkel, even if he wouldn’t seek revenge against the Human God, would definitely not kindly inform them of other hidden enemies.

He indeed wouldn’t add trouble to the world while Teraxil was still in danger.

Regardless, Merkel was a beast of the Earth System, and if he continued, he might harm the Goddess of the Earth.

Even if she had given up half of her divine soul, it still belonged to the Goddess of the Earth; she simply could no longer use the power of that half.

However, Merkel was not so kind-hearted as to remind the gods of humankind.

After all, when trouble arose, humans would eventually find out.

Hill could actually understand Merkel’s actions, to keep back one move was a display of significant rationality.

But Hill could not do the same.

If the human gods offended him, he would directly retaliate against the God of Nobility.

But the enemy in the shadows, judging by their manner of doing things, was targeting humans as a whole.

The deities above, manipulating situations, opposed one another, but it would not affect their lives.

Even if they suffered a major setback, at most they would lose some strength, which they could regain later.

But for ordinary humans, every plot against their race could mean the loss of countless lives.

Hill would never use those lives to manifest his rage.

Merkel would never bother thinking so much; he was naturally cruel and was only slowly changing himself because of Alice.

But in such times, he definitely wouldn’t concern himself with the life and death of humans.

Hill sighed and slowly walked to the window. Merkel had thrown the choice into his hands, knowing that there was a hidden enemy, whether he would inform William or maintain silence as well, that leopard would just watch indifferently.

Seated at the window, Hill looked down at Mage Hogan, who was organizing the crowd below, seemingly communicating whether they should return to Reyes City.

”List,” Hill said indifferently to the Tower Spirit that appeared, ”have the Undead Tribe spread the word about the affairs of the gods of Ferun. Let the common folk below know that even if Reyes City has now turned into ruins with no food, the followers of the gods who took over will surely not leave them destitute.

Ferun certainly has divine food, and those from the Kind God Church are used to preaching at any time, it’s impossible for them not to have any.”

”Also, when I leave, I will only leave the original parts of the Magic Tower.” Hill smiled, ”Most of the magic arrays in the camp down there, I will dismantle.

Including the obsidian.”

Hill smiled at the surprised List: ”If I’m happy, there might be favors. If I’m not, then why should I?”

List immediately disappeared to deliver the message.

Hill suddenly felt a bit more relieved.

Since leaving Teraxil, he always felt he had matured, and his actions had become much more restrained.

He always wanted to maintain a steady image.

Now, he no longer thought so. It was better to follow one’s heart, at least he would be happy.

Hill didn’t want to stay here any longer. After Merkel explained things clearly, he would write a letter to William and then go wait at the Star Gate to shift to the next world.

Although he no longer had any desires or knowledge he wanted, he might as well treat it as a vacation.

He really didn’t want to get trampled on by a rampaging dragon.

The crowd below began to stir, and Mage Hogan looked up towards the tower with a panic-stricken and incredulous gaze.

From that look, Hill could tell that he had indeed heard a lot of generous and kind tales about himself from the Undead Tribe.

Hill sneered coldly, no longer intending to manage the affairs here.

Even when at 3 a.m., a pregnant woman secretly found the Magic Tower and performed a bloodline test.

Hogan, it turned out, was only trying to count her among his subordinates, but he couldn’t manage to do so.

If it were before, Hill might have curiously observed this family saga, but now he no longer cared about these stories.

In any world, regardless of family size, the drama of power struggles was constantly unfolding.

List appeared with a message: ”Merkel said that it looked like a weird beast. Although it’s a fox, it feels like a human.

But among fox beasts, it’s very popular, and the high-level female fox beasts of the Beast Kingdom even prefer that strange fox.”

Hill fell silent for a moment: ”Does he still think that it’s a magical beast now?”

”After coming to this world and learning of the existence of Beastmen, he understood.” List shook its head, ”He wants to know, can Beastmen transform into both magical beasts and humans?”

”Not every litter of Beastmen is humanoid.” Hill said coldly, ”Those in beast form can only be mounts for their humanoid siblings or be abandoned.

If there are both, it must be the work of the Beastman God.”

”But why would a Beastman take interest in Teraxil?” asked List, puzzled.

”Coron’s emphasis on William and the Undead Tribe would surely catch the eyes of the Chief Beastman God,” Hill said helplessly, ”It’s an eternal hatred that can’t be resolved, and anything he does to create trouble for Coron is normal.”

”Does he want to stir chaos in Teraxil and then have His Majesty the King bring the Undead Tribe back home?” List pondered before speaking, ”He wouldn’t need to take back so many, one-third would be enough.”

”Not now,” Hill shook his head, ”Clearly, that fox is planning to first establish itself in the Beast Kingdom, then slowly beguile these fellows.”

Unfortunately, it met a God of Nobility who is overly sensitive and would rather kill wrongly than forgive.
