Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 603: Chapter 401 The Ambition of the Undead Tribe

After Hill returned to the Magic Tower, he read all the newly acquired books, focusing particularly on the legends of the Goddess of Gold Coins.

Although this Goddess of Gold Coins does not even have her own country and claims to never contest for worshippers with gods from other countries, she only has a city of commerce as the location of her Main Temple. Yet, she remains one of the few deities that have existed since ancient times!

The reason why human kings in this world have little notion of coin minting rights is largely because humans seem to have used the transaction method bestowed by the Goddess of Gold Coins since their appearance.

The people of this world might be kept in the dark, but the outsider, Hill, was well aware that each transaction with these currencies greatly benefited the Goddess of Gold Coins.

She is named after gold coins, but in reality, she primarily presides over divinities related to trade and commerce.

This Goddess of Gold Coins could certainly not be just an Intermediate Divine Power.

The three most powerful deities in this world are those of War, Judgment, and Justice.

However, these three deities live as if they were merely symbols.

Although they are mighty deities that have existed since the inception of the world, their existence is so illusory.

If there were a true God of Justice, although his rigid and tough style makes many people dislike him, he would definitely not ignore Lady Venom, who blatantly preys on humans.

People can criticize those deities who call for the eradication of evil without sparing any mercy as ruthless and heartless, but they would certainly not ignore the blatant existence of evil demons just because the evil lands are far from their own countries.

But those three mighty deities of this world seem to only act when the Evil God attacks their Alliance of Light, and it can only be said that any Evil God who provokes them will undoubtedly have no resting place for their corpse.

Or maybe they only intervene when several neighboring countries fight too fiercely, triggering a true battle between good and evil, and they then thoroughly suppress the evil forces.

Then the world returns to peace once again, and the Evil God just recuperates their strength slowly under the eyes of all deities.

Hill deeply suspected that this world was created by an enemy of the God of Justice.

Many books subtly express dissatisfaction with the God of Justice focusing only on his own country.

Most people think that these three deities do not deserve respect from all over the world, and many humans hence worship their own national deities more, even if such deities possess only Lower Rank Divine Power, which is still far more useful than a God of Justice who is far-reaching and practically useless.

Hill felt that the mastermind behind the scenes wanted humans to curse the God of Justice, otherwise these books could not possibly have been written.

However, the existence of the Goddess of Gold Coins left Hill somewhat unclear whether the mastermind wanted to eliminate the Goddess of Wealth, or if some deity had secretly become a collaborator.

The aforementioned Goddess of Wealth, Valkin, had previously been in serious trouble, her Divine Power having fallen to Lower Rank, and she had been desperately trying to return to Intermediate Divine Power.

And as an absolutely neutral goddess, she does not mind colluding with Evil Gods. If she had not been tricked by a Lord of the Abyss and become a famous joke in the Stellar Realm, she would have willingly cooperated even with demons.

”Is the Goddess of Gold Coins that Valkin?” ’Junqi’ asked thoughtfully.

”I don’t know, the deities of this world are somewhat like avatars of many god systems, not just Ferun’s,” Hill replied nonchalantly, ”Which one is a real being and which is just a simulation by the laws, I don’t have the ability to distinguish.

After you gather the information, just inform His Majesty the King.

He didn’t come along, did he?”

”Who knows?” a knight laughed heartily, ”If William disguised himself as Undead, probably nobody would recognize him! Maybe he is somewhere flirting right now!

His physique could make many young girls drool! We couldn’t mimic it even if we tried!”

The ’Old Age Striking King’ stood on a chair and fiercely smacked the knight on the head with a book: ”Shut your filthy mouth! No need to expose your perilously bad character in front of Mr. Hill!”

Watching the knight cradling his head and groaning in pain, the Loli Priest in a white dress tidied up her skirt and smiled at Hill: ”Sorry, Mr. Hill, but you must be used to this by now, our Undead tribe always has such fools who have nothing but their mouths!

Take a look at this book! Our Black Rose has emptied several Magic Towers!”

Hill shook his head helplessly: ”I don’t mind, I’ve gotten used to it over time.

The purchase price for the books has been set up; just take them to the Puppet.

I don’t come here every day, this world is a bit strange, I also need to hide.

I don’t have many gold coins in this world, so let’s settle with crystal stones!

If you need money from this world, you can buy the crystal cards I offer, I’ll take Teraxil and this world’s currency.”

The ’Old Age Striking King’ happily took out all the books from his person and handed them to the Puppet, exchanging them for a large crystal pouch.

’Junqi’ narrowed her eyes with a smile: ”Mr. Hill, if we made the countries we’ve occupied use our own currency, would that be slightly beneficial?”

”His Majesty the King might not necessarily want the divinity of trade and currency.” Hill thought for a moment before answering carefully, ”This world almost assumes that anyone who issues currency possesses those two types of divinity, and it seems, commerce as well.”

Although many deities possess various divine roles, trade and fairness still seem somewhat incompatible; it would be best for you to consult with His Majesty the King before making a decision.

Moreover, matters such as trade and commerce fall within the realm of divinity of the God of Contract in our world. His Majesty the King indeed still has to return to Teraxil.”

The Undead Tribe were all stunned; it took them a while to grasp Hill’s meaning.

The ’Old Age Striking King’ suddenly gasped, ”Wait, I need to talk to Old Dog about this! For so long, we have been using our own Gold Coins to buy things!

Especially in the former Spring Country, where people have already started trading with our Gold Coins, Silver Coins, and Copper Coins!”

She was fervently typing, her hands almost blurring, looking very anxious.

True enough, the ’Snow Cloud Peak’ alliance, always closely following behind William, had gained many benefits. They certainly wouldn’t want to cause trouble for William from their side.

After so many years of diligent mission completion, no one would want their favorability with William to be docked over such a trivial matter.

Hill curiously glanced over, knowing that for someone like him who seldom dealt with ordinary people, Gold Coins were almost the smallest denomination. It was the first time he realized the Undead Tribe also had many Silver Coins and Copper Coins!

No, it means William also issued minor currency to the Undead Tribe!

The currency of the Undead Tribe was always created by William and the God of Time and Space themselves; the currency from Saral was only provided for the residents of their own country.

Otherwise, with the number of the Undead Tribe, Saral’s minting capacity could barely supply one tenth of the demand.

Speaking of which, Hill had only seen mountains of Gold Coins; he had almost forgotten what Silver Coins and Copper Coins looked like.

In the past, when he was still a lower-rank mage and also a noble, little purchases were always made by Boen and his parents; Hill rarely bothered with such trivial matters.

By the time he started buying things on his own, he was already using Gold Coins for change.

’Junqi’ suddenly asked Hill curiously, ”Mr. Hill, is ascension to godhood possible just by possessing Divinity and Divine Fire?

Can our Undead Tribe also become deities?

A few days ago, the former boss from Doomsday came looking for Old Dog; he wanted to take advantage of William’s absence to try and seize a divine position.”

”You found a fragment of Divinity?” Hill suddenly realized.

When a deity falls, even those false deities, their Divinity shatters and their Divine Fire scatters.

”Is it those pieces of golden-red Crystal Stone?” ’Junqi’ replied, ”Every time a big boss dies, many small fragments splatter about, and many people have picked them up.

The boss from Doomsday somehow obtained the largest piece, claiming that holding it gave him the illusion that he could also become a deity.

So, he wanted Old Dog to help him try it out, willing to pay a huge price.

The ideas of these young nobles are always so unexpected.

Playing too many role-playing games, as if William can’t hear the foolish things he says.”

”Old Dog told him not to daydream,” the ’Old Age Striking King’ said without looking up. ”We have been pursuing Legendary Level for several years, and by the time we reach Divine Rank, who knows if there will still be so many people coming to this world!”

Hill understood what the Female Priest was saying; even if one day William gave them the opportunity to become gods, it would still be 10 or even decades later.

These members of the Undead Tribe don’t even know if they will continue to play this game years from now; they simply wouldn’t bother about something so distant.

To seize the initiative a few months in advance is timely; a few years in advance is madness; decades in advance, and even a madman wouldn’t join him.

Besides, the current William couldn’t possibly achieve it.

Unless, decades later, he and the God of Time and Space both reach Intermediate, or even greater, Divine Power, could they play a game with virtual divinity like the masterminds behind this world.

”Old Dog said he understood and asked us to buy back the Crystal Card from Mr. Hill’s place first.” the ’Old Age Striking King’ breathed out softly, ”He’s now investigating whether those Mage Knights from Spring Country who came under our wing have any issues.

But we used Mr. Hill’s painting! It feels like they told no lies.”

”That painting also has its limitations,” Hill softly reminded, ”If the person speaking truly believes in their words, the painting will judge them harmless.

This Felunryel, the world rules are slightly flawed, and people who grow up in this world can easily be influenced by its laws.”

The Undead Tribe exchanged glances and stood up, ”We should go back for now and discuss these matters with everyone. We’ll come back to Mr. Hill’s place in a few days; hopefully, Mr. Hill won’t mind our books being too voluminous.”

Hill smiled and shook his head: ”Each book is valuable.”
