Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 619: Chapter 417 What Happened to Teraxil?

Hill did not plan to speculate on Bane’s thoughts; the minds of the Three Gods of Death were all a bit problematic.

Bane was already the most normal among them, but someone like Hill still could not understand his thoughts.

However, when the enemy was the likes of the Prince of Lies, Cyric, it was understandable that Bane would do some illogical things.

If he were not so cautious, he would have died again long ago.

Sometimes Hill felt that Cyric was letting this person who was coveting his divinity roam free because he had no idea how much bloodline Bane still had scattered out there.

If Cyric could kill all the humans who bore Bane’s blood, he would have long taken action against him.

The ability to resurrect through one’s own descendants was truly troublesome.

As for the mastermind behind the scenes, Hill could already confirm it was a dragon.

The reason the gnolls in this world were so arrogant, even having their own God of Thievery, was because the Dragon Race was backing them.

A dog with a master supporting it dared to be arrogant.

Hill just did not know exactly which one it was.

Although the Dragon Race had always been arrogant, even daring to oppose the gods if they were not dragon gods, for someone to act so brazenly and offend so many deities at once, could it be one of the Chromatic Dragon Queen’s consorts?

Hill did not believe it was the Evil Dragon Lord Tiamat; with her personality, she would not leave a single gemstone within her realm of power.

She was the Greedy Mistress whom even the most devout followers did not dare enshrine in their homes, lest they lose all their gold and silver jewelry to her insatiable desire. Unless she was still asleep, otherwise, it made no sense.

Unfortunately, Hill was really not familiar with the Dragon Race; he could only wait for the outcome.

After all routes of escape were completely sealed, the two Gods of Thievery did not hold out for long.

Half an hour after the Undead army returned, they were thoroughly dead.

But Hill was still a little fearful; under the siege of tens of thousands of mages and magicians, those two thieves had almost escaped several times.

Their equipment’s antimagic properties were indeed quite impressive.

If crafted by the Dragon Race, it was understandable; a dragon living for tens of thousands of years could shed skin enough to make a set of legendary-level antimagic gear.

Hill always felt that the dagger in the dwarf’s hand was more threatening than the pair of curved blades; it was probably not just his imagination.

If it were a Dragon Tooth Dagger.

Hill furrowed his brows; he absolutely did not want to become an enemy of the Dragon Race.

For most mages, the Dragon Race was indeed a troublesome existence.

However, he had to make this dragon realize that becoming enemies with Hill would be a hassle; the Dragon Race, whether kind and neutral or evil, bullied the weak and feared the strong.

If you were weak, your property was theirs.

Even dragons of the kind alignment were the same; their greed for treasures was insatiable.

The stories of dragons were too complex; even the Chromatic Dragon Queen herself might not remember how many consorts she had, and these male dragons, in an attempt to please Tiamat, had caused numerous troubles throughout the multiverse.

Any one of the Chromatic Evil Dragons conducting an experiment that humiliated most deities was quite normal.

They wouldn’t care whether human gods would hunt them down; as long as Tiamat was happy and gave them an egg, it would be worth it, even if it meant spending tens of thousands of years under divine pursuit, all the way to the Abyss.

”Sir, it’s the Human God of Thievery and the Gnome God of Thievery,” List returned. ”The Undead tribe examined the corpses of several legendary gnoll thieves but couldn’t determine their factions.

This time, the ones that came to our side were all thieves and assassins, at most a few warriors.

Even if they had attributes, only the magical system among gnolls could determine which dragon race they were under.”

”Gnolls indeed have a God of Thievery,” Hill asserted. ”He has the highest success rate in theft in this world.

With the world’s alchemy capabilities, there’s no defensive array that can stop him.

Ask the Undead tribe if they will sell the dagger and curved blades. I’ll pay a high price for them.”

List nodded and went directly to find the Undead tribe.

Hill pinched his pendant and asked Alice if she would come out to help him with potions.

Alice quickly shook her head; if Hill couldn’t accompany her, the little white cat preferred to play in the vast space inside the pendant.

She had already explored the Magic Tower thoroughly during this period.

Hill had been taking time these past few days to check the situation inside the pendant, discovering that though Alice still liked to play, now she would conscientiously complete her daily exercises, communicate with her Mithril Sphere to store spells, and follow the puppets in harvesting magical plants and various fruits.

Only after finishing all her tasks did she indulge in play.

Watching such a sensible Alice, Hill felt a bit uneasy, but growth was not necessarily a bad thing.

List soon returned; the Undead tribe had straightforwardly sold all three weapons to Hill.

”They said they couldn’t wield these weapons.” List said with a smile, ”150-level weapons aren’t something weaklings at level 100 can use.

If possible, please exchange them for some level 100 weapons. They also asked if you would like anything else; His Majesty the King’s exchange rates are too harsh.

They cursed His Majesty a lot, calling him heartless and ruthless.”

Hill couldn’t help but laugh: ”The deities’ weapons in this world should be at the demigod level. I didn’t feel any divine power pressure from those weapons.

If demigod-level weapons are at level 150, based on the current upgrade speed of the Undead tribe, it would be at least 100 years before they reach that level.

I don’t think the Undead tribe would be crazy enough to play the same game as their grandparents.

It appears His Majesty the King intends for the Undead tribe’s pinnacle to be pseudo-legendary.”

List nodded: ”I noticed the Undead tribe seems to prefer shields and priest hammers. Longswords are also okay. I remember there are a few magic wands you created based on the Undead mages’ weapons in the warehouse; we can use them for exchange this time.”

”Do as you see fit.” Hill said with waning interest, no longer focusing on the legendary-level equipment in his hands.

If needed, Hill could make several in a day.

After mastering the Law of the Earth, Hill could match his outsider grandfather in weapon crafting almost instantly.

After all, holding any metal, Hill knew exactly how to treat it to reach the material’s optimal state.

During those years with the Earth Bear Tribe, Hill, in boredom, created numerous alloys. He combined them however he wished, losing interest in research over time.

The metals would tell him the best ratios themselves.

List soon had puppets deliver the three demigod weapons to Hill.

Hill immediately perked up and went straight into the lab.

He decided not to leave until he fully understood these three items; besides, he did not dare to leave the Magic Tower anyway.

While Hill was engrossed in researching the newly acquired pseudo-artifacts, List noticed the Undead tribe seemed to be discussing matters related to Hill.

Moreover, they appeared to be trying to keep it secret from Hill.

Glancing at the closed laboratory door, List decided to investigate first.

Given the habits of the Undead tribe, things they wished to keep secret were not necessarily legitimate.

List needed not to reveal himself to eavesdrop.

Just outside a window, List, now invisible, stood quietly listening to those inside. It seemed peculiar how the Undead tribe, who had entrusted the entire camp’s arrays to List themselves, attempted stealth.

Unless they only discussed things within their Alchemy Hut, there was no place in the camp List couldn’t reach or overhear.

Even inside the Alchemy Hut, if they spoke with windows open and without activating the Soundproof Array, it was no different from speaking outside!

Smilingly, List stood outside a window listening to the conversation inside. In his invisible state, the Undead tribe noticed nothing.

Applauding himself quietly, List observed that several family managers had huddled in a small room, confirming the Undead tribe likely could not resist gossiping.

Especially within the Black Rose, Hill had specifically pointed out a few top gossipers to List once.

He was deeply impressed by ’Romantic Drunk Red Dust’, who dashed out holding a tablet, leaving behind the woman who brought him shopping, just to hear some gossip.

Moreover, List recalled ’Cunlü’ and ’Old Age Striking King’, especially the lady ’Cunlü’.

The Duchess, that sow from the Earth Bear Valley, was unforgettable for List, who managed the valley for many years.

Anyone who could get along well with the Duchess and bring her entire family to another world deserved to be avoided by List at all costs.

”Who is that person with such audacity?” Old Age Striking King asked his companions incredulously, ”Hill is kind, not temperless!

Do not let him ruin our friendly relationship with Hill!”

List frowned instantly, what did they mean? Had someone done something to Hill’s territory in Teraxil?

”I remember him.” Cunlü answered loudly, ”When we stirred up some trouble to get Saral’s great nobility and those idiots fighting, he was involved too!

He’s called ’Self-Cultivation of the Working Class’.

Usually running errands, not keen on leveling up; otherwise, with his military exploits, he would have passed the Star Gate long ago.”

”Has he always been active in Central City?” an unfamiliar person asked.

”He loves fighting that foreign bunch of idiots, fights really recklessly. Later, he went to the Abyssal Gate!” Cunlü answered quickly.

”If that’s the case, I probably know who he is.” Romantic Drunk Red Dust said lazily, ”That guy could have come over in the last world, but got sealed for a month fighting with a foreign family, missing everything.

I truly admire him; he dares to do anything.

Not afraid Hill will throw him into the Abyss.”

”The Abyss may be unlikely, but sending him into a never-landing cyclone would certainly be possible.” Old Age Striking King affirmed.

List was getting anxious; why hadn’t they gotten to the point yet?
