Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 633: Chapter 431: To be able to speak freely, we are willing to give our lives!

Hill was not aware that his Tower Spirits were criticizing his aesthetic sense.

He had already tried to restrain himself.

Otherwise, Hill’s true feelings were that girls would like to wear red, pink, or perhaps tender yellow and willow green.

Hill also didn’t think there was anything wrong with his intuition, believing that it was simply because he had been working on construction sites, building bridges and roads for years, that he had fallen out of touch with what was fashionable.

As for what is fashionable and what looks elegant, straight men have always felt that a pretty face is enough.

With the time that could be spent fussing over appearances, Hill would rather bury himself in work.

He had finally found a direction and was working hard to patch things up.

Unfortunately, in both these worlds, Hill did not dare to summon Elemental Spirits, as they were far from Teraxil, and summoning old acquaintances was too troublesome.

Even though Elemental Spirits could directly break through space to come to the Prime Material Plane, it still depended on how far away they were from the summoner in the Elemental Realm.

The Crystal Walls of different worlds also had a bit of an effect on them.

However, Hill was rather reluctant to summon Elemental Spirits from this world at random.

The personalities of Elemental Spirits are actually quite influenced by the worlds they come from, and not all worlds’ Elemental Spirits are as adorable as those from Teraxil.

Being hot-tempered and easily angered is also quite common.

In the two worlds Hill had experienced, the Laws themselves had some issues, giving birth to Elemental Spirits that would definitely be affected.

Therefore, Hill could only resort to laboring himself.

He only hoped that the next world he encountered wouldn’t be so one-sided.

Sometimes, even if a world is on the brink of destruction, it’s not necessarily because there are problems with its Laws; most of the time it’s due to invasions from the outside.

Like Demons, or beings like Rose, who have destroyed countless small worlds.

”Hill!” The guy who had been following him around all this time suddenly called out to him.

Hill looked up with an indifferent face; he absolutely could not show these people a friendly expression, because if he did, these guys, almost resembling the paparazzi, would dare to ask any question and make any demand.

”Those False Gods discovered by the people of Ferun have started to flee!” The little paparazzo said excitedly, waving his hands, ”They acted at first as if they were determined to fight us invaders to the end, but then, with just one look at the Righteous Knights’ five-hundred-man force, they suddenly ran.

They have asked me to inquire whether the Righteous Knights do seem quite strong, but they aren’t as powerful as us, right? Why did they run only when they saw them?

We thought they would really stick to their role forever, unwavering!

Tyr, himself, wouldn’t be so useless!”

”The Righteous Knights, huh!” Hill sighed, ”They are the most loyal followers of the Three Gods of Justice; any of them can cause a Divine Descent of the Three Gods.

For that mastermind behind the scenes, fighting us does not harm his foundation, as gods from small worlds don’t have the guts to offend the forces behind them.

It’s a good opportunity to test the limits of these False Gods’ abilities; he can just switch to another world afterward.

But the Gods of Ferun, they don’t care who is behind them.

The Goddess of Magic has already been replaced twice; what is there in Ferun to fear?

They are unafraid of anyone looking for trouble.

No matter what the mastermind wants to hide, one careless move could get him killed outright.

So he has to place the False Gods in the most crucial positions; at this point, they are no longer merely test subjects or cannon fodder, but expendables that can be used to fend off attacks for a while.”

Hill looked at the little paparazzo desperately typing on his tablet, and asked with some confusion, ”Shouldn’t His Majesty the King give notice about this sort of thing? The Undead Tribe doesn’t need to take the lead in charging anymore.

The people from Ferun who came here don’t care if they accidentally harm your lives.

Even those from the Kind Alignment are the same, after all, they know you won’t really die.”

”William is in seclusion now!” the little paparazzo shrugged, unconcernedly, ”We suspect it’s because the deities that came this time are too chaotic. William is afraid of causing trouble. Otherwise, why was he so active during the last event with Shaer?

He has even sealed off the Royal Palace hall now, and Spencer is only issuing orders.

As for the matters concerning Ferun, he said that for the time being we should keep our distance from those people from Ferun and also show some respect for their religion.

The doctrines of some deities seem absurd, but since the world of the Ferun Great Land, where they reside, has emerged, it must have its essential significance, and we had better not spout nonsense.”

He couldn’t help but mutter, ”So many more taboo words have been added; William is really annoying.”

Hill shook his head in wonder; he didn’t think William would be afraid of the human deities from Ferun.

His bringing the Undead Tribe this time was not his own doing, but rather it was a joint invitation from Coron and the World Tree; regular deities would not make an enemy of him over such a trivial matter.

Moreover, most of the deities who had come over this time belonged to the Kind Alignment, and even if they were Chaotic, they would only seek some minor amusement and not truly make a move against William.

To be honest, Hill felt that the threat to William’s life was far less than the threat to his chastity.

But William shouldn’t be such a self-doubting person, should he?

Could it be that he thinks he’ll be seduced?

Had William realized he was being targeted? Could it be because his adoration for Shaer had gotten out?

It was quite possible that Lady Fiery Hair had set her sights on him; she would never accept being second to the cold and heartless Shaer.

However, despite her beauty and fiery nature, Lady Fiery Hair wasn’t the type to force herself on someone unwilling.

William was being too full of himself.

Hill sneered at the thought and then made a concerted effort to strengthen his protective shield.

He was actually a bit worried—he was still just a child!

When the Undead Tribe found Hill again three days later, they had come to inquire if any of the new, attractive men and women were willing to sing, dance, play music, or perform for money, and if they could hire them.

Hill remained silent for a few seconds before nodding, ”You’ve met the God of Singing, Miliel. Most of Gerns’s followers are bards—singing and performing are part of their daily life, even for those who become worshipers of legendary stature.

The other likely belongs to the followers of the Goddess of Joy, Lyril. Most of them are performers, whose jobs are to sing and dance, bringing joy to people.

You may hire them freely, just don’t attack their beliefs.

Didn’t Spencer say it was okay?”

”Spencer, that guy, as soon as William is not around, he fears me causing William trouble, so he keeps silent unless he’s issuing a mission. He won’t answer no matter how much we ask.”

Hill felt something was off; the reaction from Spencer seemed as if William was in big trouble.

Otherwise, for these matters, even if not entirely certain, Spencer would be able to inquire from William.

William, what has happened that even Spencer can’t see him?

Hill pondered to himself while asking about the events that had transpired.

As for Valkin, after so many of the typically neutral and uninvolved followers of the Goddess of Joy surged into this world, it was clear that she had played herself to death again.

Even though she and Lyril had their differences, the Goddess of Joy was still her friend and knew where her Divine Kingdom was.

The desperate dispatch of her followers signalled that Valkin’s situation didn’t look good!

”Ah!” the Undead suddenly cried out, ”We’ve reached the Red Country!”

It seemed that the knights of the Three Gods of Justice had already led others into the territory of the Red Knight.

”What’s happening?” Hill quickly asked, ever curious as to why the War Goddess known as the Crimson Knight chose that persona.

She was definitely not a False God but rather a future caretaker and bodyguard for the newborn child of the Dragon Queen.

”Oh, Hill! That’s a dragon!” The Undead waved his arms, ”About ten meters or so! Looks quite large, and though it can use ice spells, it prefers physical attacks!

But it got killed by the followers of the War God, Tampas of Ferun.

There was this female knight, so fierce! She grabbed the dragon’s tail and smashed it into the ground.”

Hill was speechlessly stunned; he hadn’t paid much attention to the Red Knight’s nation, but he knew instantly who was responsible for the deed.

A common Holy Knight couldn’t possibly manhandle a White Dragon all alone unless they were a Child of God, no matter how strong they were.

And yet, the enemies of this Evil Dragon were truly numerous, and his schemes were grand enough; this was beyond malevolence—it was utterly ruinous!

To have a White Dragon pose as the Crimson Knight was indeed a bold idea!

”That was a White Dragon?” Hill asked, refusing to give up hope. ”Did it say anything?”

Maybe it was another dragon in disguise?

”Not a White Dragon, right? Its scales seemed a bit gray-blue! Isn’t that a Blue Dragon?

It never spoke, just roared!

But how odd, that place was right next to a volcano, yet it turned into an icy tundra. Those Ferun people had a tough fight.

We followed along mainly to kill its minions, all sorts of oddly shaped mutts and gray-white Dragon People.”

Hill simply responded, ”Blue Dragons prefer deserts.”

Now Hill could understand why the Crimson Knight would make a personal appearance—the mere existence of the White Dragon was an insult to her.

He then lapsed into deep thought, wondering if it was the White Dragon that coveted his Ring of Winter.

As for the real father of the Little Prince in the volcano, Hill of course knew he couldn’t be a White Dragon, but his power was also surely high. Even though White Dragons weren’t known for their intelligence, they couldn’t be controlled by just anyone.

Wait, Hill suddenly realized something, ”He? Are you saying the White Dragon is a male?”

Hill inhaled sharply; the followers of the War God had a serious fight on their hands!

”What’s wrong?” The Undead looked at Hill, perplexed. ”Isn’t the Red Knight supposed to be a very strong King of Knights? A physically attacking dragon actually seems quite fitting, doesn’t it?”

”The original is a Goddess,” Hill explained as succinctly as possible. ”You would do well not to discuss this matter too much, for if you’re killed, even His Majesty the King can’t argue for you.”

”Ah, running our mouths is at the core of who we are; it’s our sole joy in life. It is the lifeline we absolutely cannot be deprived of,” the Undead declared unhesitatingly. ”Dying for it is our pride.

Don’t worry about us, Hill! At worst, it’s a free trip back to the city.”
