Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 609: Chapter 407: The Hidden Enemy

Hill looked helplessly at Anbur, who was so angry that even her hair seemed to thrash about wildly, though it looked more like seaweed.

On her flailing arms were fins, which made her look even less human.

But compared to her true form, this Anbur, clad in a shell top and a seaweed long skirt, with an ugly appearance, was somewhat more presentable.

Hill lowered his head to glance at Alice, who could not even bear the sight of Anbur in front of her, hoping the small white cat had never encountered the true Goddess of the Near Seas.

Agleya would react even more frantically than Alice.

He remembered there was an organization of Great Sea Dreamers that crossed many worlds, and Hill planned to look for them when he visited other worlds.

Agleya and the deities there would likely get along well.

It was better than coming into contact with a goddess like the Sea Goddess Ambori right from the start. Although many sea deities could make Agleya question their divinity, starting off with Ambori was too damaging to her pride.

Seeing the curious look on the little white cat’s face, Hill couldn’t help but smile, ”This Goddess of the Sea...”

”Call her Sand, no~~Sand God~” Alice elongated her voice to stop Hill; she was very reluctant to equate such an evil being with Agleya.

”Alright~ alright~.

This Sand God’s illusion technique is usually used against mostly human sailors. She probably only makes people feel like they’ve fallen into the sea and are suffocating or shows them scantily clad beauties.

The fear of mortals has led her to overestimate herself.

The power of the Silvermoon emanating from the paintings alone can directly cancel out her mental interference, not to mention both you and I are unaffected by illusions of a lower level,” said Hill nonchalantly, ”Besides, she doesn’t know that illusions below god level have no effect on us.”

Alice was a bit puzzled, ”Even if Adrian came, he wouldn’t be affected, right?”

”Boen wouldn’t either,” Hill shook his head, ”Someone with a strong will would be fine.”

Alice, relieved, lay down, ”Meow~ With such a dumb creature, Agleya can just kill her without worrying about her divinity being snatched away.”

Only then did Hill understand why Alice harbored such hostility toward Anbur.

Compared to Hill, Alice could understand what being a deity meant. Even if they were not from the same world, deities under the same law would never get along when they met; instead, they would fight each other, trying to devour each other’s divinity.

Not to mention this was a deity requiring faith, an Evil God. If the original form of Anbur, the Goddess of the Near Seas, was stronger than Agleya, she would definitely kill Agleya without hesitation.

Although Hill was becoming familiar with deities, he had still overlooked their exclusivity.

Even those from Kind Alignments wouldn’t spare entities competing for their divinity.

Alice and Hill relaxed because they realized that those two truly felt constrained when it came to Hill’s territory.

Or rather, both of them didn’t plan to resort to all their tricks against Hill.

Hill gave it some thought and understood why; let’s not mention the God of Hunting that might be watching covetously from the side, but if the three of them truly followed their original designs, then this God of Hunting might not target Hill first after exposing a fatal weakness to his so-called allies, the goddesses.

He was a mindless beast, and he also enjoyed hunting Snow Beasts, which was why the relationship between him and the Goddess of Winter was very poor.

If the Storm God was not present, the only one who could mediate between them was Anbur.

But Anbur’s strength was not enough to suppress the desire of the God of Hunting to take action.

Hill, out of curiosity, waved his hand and summoned 12 Tornado Storms again, but this time he invoked sandstorms.

Probably thinking Hill was only capable of defense, Anbur and the Goddess of Winter were quite relaxed; they hadn’t seriously guarded against Hill’s move.

Although the Tornado Storms were powerful, Anbur was able to control the Wind Element Laws, and while she couldn’t dispel those storms, she could still keep the storms away from where she was.

But this time, Hill summoned a mixed spell of the Wind and Earth Systems.

He calculated the angles carefully and directed the 24 spells to rotate and converge in his Mental Sea.

Anbur watched the tornadoes that turned back towards them and confidently extended her claws, ”Foolish fellow! Do you think I can’t control them just because there are twice as many?”

Hill gave a cold smile.

Anbur let out a ’huh’ as she only managed to control the first 12 storms; the remaining 12 had already rapidly collided with the original ones and exploded instantly. The tornadoes and sandstorms merged directly.

However, it wasn’t just a one-time fusion. In the blink of an eye, these tornadoes turned into hurricanes scattered with sand and rocks.

”Damn it, Anbur!” The Goddess of Winter cried out as she was swept into the air by the frightful hurricane, completely unaware that her companion had blundered, as she diligently swung her axe.

”No~ It’s not my fault~” Anbur, in a panic yet managing to flee using a contrary wind, couldn’t control the rapidly-spinning great hurricane before her.

She couldn’t even get close; the sweeping winds and sand were too deadly.

The light of the Shield on the Goddess of Winter was nearly eroded away.

”Think~ think~ of~~ something~~~ ahhh~” the Goddess of Winter’s screams echoed across the sky.

”They’re really dumb, aren’t they, Hill?” Alice couldn’t help but jump in front of the window and sprawl out on it, ”Doesn’t she know that tornado storms will merge when they collide?”

But I didn’t expect 24 tornado storms to become this huge! All those trees have been swept away!

Oh! It hit the Goddess of Winter! Tch! It looks so painful, meow~”

”Ah, if they are tornadoes of the same type, there’s still a small chance they’ll protect each other and cancel out,” Hill replied with a smile. He hadn’t expected that Anbur would just raise her hand and control them without even a glance.

The sandstorm behind was actually very noticeable, you’d know to avoid it with just a glance!

But neither of them cared a bit.

Hill exhaled softly, feeling a bit nervous even though he thought he should be able to handle these two famously weak Evil Gods who rarely took action directly.

”List, keep an eye on the back of the Magic Tower,” Hill instructed the Tower Spirit, ”Are all the Magical Plants back inside the tower?”

”The Murderous Vine is still outside, the rest have returned,” List replied, ”He thinks that if the opponent is only the kind outside, there’s really no need to worry.

I told him there might be a False God who likes to kill hiding aside, and he became excited.

It seems he’s caught the scent of the God of Hunting.

Sir, after all, it is a Bloodsucking Vine, and if it can absorb the blood of the Lord of Beasts, even if it’s fake, it still benefits him greatly.”

Hill nodded, ”Then let him go. His main root is still in the pendant. If something really goes wrong, he’ll only sleep for a few years at most. It’s good for him to try once, being a Demigod for so long.”

The Murderous Vine could only advance by absorbing the flesh and blood of its prey, which was probably nature’s restriction on it.

Otherwise, this kind of Bloodsucking Vine would easily upgrade to a power capable of destroying the world.

Even though few people could control such vine, it wouldn’t stop various schemers from exploiting it.

The vine following Hill had actually reached Demigod Level before entering Hill Valley, but it was seriously injured at that time and took a long time to recover in Hill Valley.

It was truly tenacious; most Magical Plants, even the carnivorous ones, would not risk hunting Magical Beasts of the same rank when they reached Legendary Rank.

So Hill could understand it making this choice.

For Hill’s peace of mind, the vine had already given up absorbing the bodies of high-level humans and had never laid a hand on demon flesh; the former might cause Hill discomfort, while the latter would definitely turn itself mad.

But if it is the so-called God of Hunting who is touted as the Lord of Beasts, Hill really had no reason to stop it.

So Hill just flew to the entrance of the Magic Tower, summoned the vine over, cast Nature’s Blessing on it, and genuinely prayed for its success.

Hoping the Murderous Vine could seize the opportunity and successfully strangle its prey.

The door of the Magic Tower closed slowly, and Hill watched the vine twist its body and swiftly slither away along the ground.

Hill knew the vine couldn’t have smelled anything, but very sensitive to the scent of Magical Beasts, it must have sensed the presence of an enemy.

Hill flew back to the top of the tower, where outside, Anbur was still struggling to rescue the Goddess of Winter from the storm.

All of Hill’s magic carried the power to Strike Evil, and the Goddess of Winter was already wailing in agony.

Even Hill hadn’t anticipated that he would defeat a False God so easily. He lifted his right hand and looked closely, had he really become this strong?

Alice looked up, ”Hill, may I make a move?”

The white cat worried that her intervention would give the hidden enemy a chance, but she really wanted to throw a sphere at that Anbur!

Hill glanced at the scene outside and sighed with a nod, ”Yes.”

It seems, other than that God of Hunting, there’s also a stronger enemy hidden in the shadows!

Otherwise, even if Anbur is useless, she should have been able to rescue the Goddess of Winter by now.

This is luring Hill to use his killing move on the Goddess of Winter!

Indeed, if the Goddess of Winter died, Hill’s Ring of Winter could be used again.

Hill stood quietly, looking around. Where was the enemy?

He suspected that the enemy was the one who told the Goddess of Winter about Hill’s Ring of Winter.

Alice, not paying attention to Hill’s caution, narrowed her eyes and quickly waved her paw, directing her Mithril Sphere straight at the seaweed-covered head of Anbur.

Anbur, who was putting on a great show of earnestly trying to rescue the Goddess of Winter, never expected that the people in the Magic Tower would not attack the dying Goddess of Winter but instead target her.

So the heavy Mithril Sphere unsurprisingly struck the target, shattering half of Anbur’s head.

The rapidly spinning Mithril Sphere made a round and then sent out a torrent of Golden Light straight at Anbur’s blurred head of flesh and blood.

Hill squinted his eyes; the Golden Light was too dazzling.
