Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 608: Chapter 406: The Enemy Hill Did Not Want to Meet

Alice meowed happily at Hill, very satisfied by the harsh curses coming from outside.

Seeing the troublemaker meeting his misfortune, Hill was actually quite pleased, although it was somewhat unexpected; but, it was indeed a successful strike.

Striking directly at the enemy’s cheek was something Hill truly had not anticipated; he had never considered the face a weak point. If it were him attacking, he would likely target the Goddess of Winter’s heart or head first.

But those areas were generally where the Divine Crystal and Divine Fire resided, so the Goddess of Winter might have been able to defend against it.

Hill smiled and raised his hand; he had no interest in showing mercy or playing fair with his enemies. Taking advantage of someone’s weakness was his choice.

Outside the Magic Tower, golden lights arose, and countless Arrows of Light shot towards the still cursing Goddess of Winter.

Although he did not know where she had gotten his information from, she had certainly underestimated him.

Hill sneered. If she truly regarded him as one of those Legendary Mages in this world who were only legendary in name, the Goddess of Winter wouldn’t have an easy time going back.

He observed the Magic Aura shimmering around the Goddess of Winter, who knew so little about Hill. Most of her defenses were aimed against the Fire, Wind, and Thunder Elements.

As for the Water and Ice Elements, the Goddess of Winter surely didn’t think she could lose to an outsider, with the laws firmly in her grasp!

Then, right upon meeting face to face, Hill gave her a powerful blow, which she didn’t even know could alter the weather with the Ring of Winter.

Hill was partially relieved; the one who had leaked his secrets was not from Teraxil and had nothing to do with the real Frost Maiden.

He hung the Holy Relic Painting at the top of the Magic Tower. Relying on the strong power of the sun god contained within the painting, the Goddess of Winter wouldn’t think of breaking Hill’s defense.

The Goddess of Winter, unsure of what to do, began summoning her minions again; numerous snow beasts born from the heavy snow rushed towards the Arrows of Light, using their sturdy bodies to shield the Goddess of Winter. These beasts, lacking even a Legendary status, could only end up becoming puddles of water.

Hill felt it was a bit of a pity that those one-time traps had all been triggered by the minor creatures; otherwise, accompanied by the delightful explosion sounds, the brilliant display of fireworks amidst the resplendent golden light would have been even more dazzling.

The splendid fireworks finally came to an end; Hill twisted his wrist, and the always-present Crystal Fan in his hand began to wave, creating twelve Tornado Storms in front of the tower, which swept up those odd-looking snowmen and snow beasts into the sky.

Although the snow beasts were huge, their weight was insufficient; the tornadoes effortlessly sent them flying into the sky.

The Goddess of Winter had no other choice but to stand there continuously summoning snow beasts, lowering the temperature, and fiercely chopping at the Magic Tower’s Defensive Magic Array with the huge grey axe in her hands.

After all, this place was close to her domain. Although it no longer snowed, forcing the Goddess of Winter to summon snow beasts from dozens of kilometers away, she could still easily communicate with the snow there.

Summoning was quick; they just had to run over. If she were ever slow, it would embarrassingly end up with the snow beasts dancing in the sky, while the Goddess of Winter stood alone, wielding her axe.

But she could only swing a few times before she had to dodge the incessant Arrows of Light, which carried the power to Strike Evil, causing her significant damage.

Moreover, the large hole on her face continuously emitted golden heat and was unable to heal.

Even with only Hill as an enemy here, the Goddess of Winter couldn’t help but continuously cover her face with ice and snow.

Hill glanced at List, and the Tower Spirit smiled faintly at him, ”Don’t worry, Sir. With the attack power of the Goddess of Winter, even doubled, she can’t break the Magic Tower’s defensive formation, and we have enough Crystal Stones reserved to let her hack away until the end of time.”

”That won’t be necessary,” Hill said slowly, ”Just wait until the Undead Tribe returns. I certainly won’t go out and fight her; she behaved too foolishly, and there must be an ambush outside.”

”Didn’t they say that these deities are all very rigid?” Alice asked curiously, looking up.

”These deities usually need to interact with their followers; how can they be that rigid?

The humans of this world are indeed devout but not fools.

They were just slow to react in the battle against the Undead, because no law, no matter how powerful, can observe the actions of hundreds of thousands of people at once, not to mention that the Undead may attack with millions or tens of millions at once,” Hill explained calmly. ”That kind of overly complex environment would cause these false gods to crash.

So they’ve smartened up: if one watcher isn’t enough, they simply team up, dividing the numbers of the Undead, believing they can handle even tens of thousands of Legends.

The idea isn’t bad, unfortunately, they wish to exterminate all the Undead outside and guard the corpses at the Star Gate.

It’s a nice thought, but the more relentless they are, the more excited the Undead become.

Who knows, we might see hundreds of high-level professionals in action together, including at least 10 million Legends.”

Alice meowed in surprise; she was somewhat eager to see that.

”No worries, we just need to hold on for a while,” Hill waved the fan in his hand, making the twelve columns of wind rotate more evenly, ”It’s just a matter of staying indoors; surely I won’t feel lonely?”

Alice was a cat-sleeper who, if no one called her, could sleep forever. She agreed vehemently, ”Exactly, just sleep a lot, meow~”

The Goddess of Winter, who had long failed to achieve any feats, suddenly howled up at the sky, startling both the person and the cat.

”Meow~ that sounds awful~” Alice muttered, ”What is she howling about?”

”Summoning friends?” Hill said with a pale face. The Goddess of Winter’s friends, could it be the Goddess of the Sea?

Once again, the weather changed, turning from bright sunshine to a continuous light rain.

”Ah? Why hasn’t it turned into a storm?” a hoarse female voice rose, ”Is the Divine Artifact so powerful? No wonder you wanted to steal it.”

”Anbur,” the Goddess of Winter shouted, ”Come help me! Drown this place with your ocean!”

”Meow~~~~~~~~” Alice’s white fur stood on end as she stared incredulously at the Goddess of the Near Seas, dressed in tatters and covered in seaweed, looking bizarre and waving two claws, screaming unbelievably.

”Oh, Alice.” Hill sighed helplessly, ”Don’t panic, there definitely are Goddesses of the Sea in other worlds!”

”But why does she have to be so ugly? Does she even qualify to be called the Goddess of the Sea?” Alice stood on her hind legs, a cute little paw scratching, ”Agleya would freak out, wouldn’t she?”

”She’s just a Goddess of the Near Seas. Above her is a Main God: the Storm God,” Hill explained dryly. ”Moreover, the Sea Gods in many worlds are male, and the Goddesses of the Sea are Divine Subordinates. Agleya is different.”

”Then why does she dare to call herself the Goddess of the Sea?” Alice said, unable to agree, ”She should just call herself the Goddess of the Beach!”

Looking at the relentless white cat, Hill blinked his eyes: ”She is so ugly because her faction is chaotic and evil, naturally becoming more and more demon-like in appearance.”

Alice finally understood. Following Hill, she had also encountered demons, most of which were uniquely ugly and disgusting.

”In the future, we must ensure Agleya keeps her Kind Alignment! It’s better for girls to look pretty and feel happy about it.” The white cat pressed a Mithril Sphere with one paw and gently licked its other paw in front of its mouth, ”I still really want to kill her.”

”It shouldn’t be a problem,” Hill replied quietly, ”but be aware, their God System should include four deities. If the top-tier Storm God isn’t projected, there should still be three.

Though that one doesn’t get along well with these two, they are still part of the same God System and might come to help.

That guy deals in assassinations, so it’s best we stay out of the Magic Tower.”

”If we could only kill one, Hill,” Alice widened her eyes, looking emotionally at Hill, ”shall we kill this Beach Goddess first?”

Hill petted the earnestly cute-seeking white cat: ”Of course, no problem. The Goddess of Winter can be handled by the Undead Tribe. But, Alice, you need to be a bit patient.”

Hill touched the Ring of Winter in his hand, wondering if those outside knew the ring could change the weather again in a day.

However, Hill actually had no problem with the ongoing light rain; he raised his right hand adorned with the Crystal Flower Ring, and the Water Mist easily mingled into the rising steam.

”What’s going on?” the Goddess of Winter finally shouted a few minutes later, ”Anbur, why is the rain hurting me?”

”He mixed the power to Strike Evil into the rain,” Anbur, crouching, glared at the Goddess of Winter, ”Are you stupid? Didn’t you know he can use Water Magic?

Why didn’t you tell me? Also, this storm, stronger than mine, got my ocean water swept up into the sky!”

Hill couldn’t help but laugh softly. It seemed that the shadowy manipulator had not meddled with the Storm God, instead dispersing Wind Series Laws to these lower-tier deities.

That figures, with the vengeful nature of the Storm God, if someone actually dared to use him as a backdrop and guinea pig, he’d surely hunt down the shadowy figure for thousands of years.

The depiction of these two subordinates’ evil and cowardly natures, bullying the weak but fearing the strong, was very vivid.

Both the Goddess of Winter and the Goddess of the Near Seas had lethal tricks, but once they used them, they couldn’t do anything for a while.

If Hill wasn’t killed by their tricks, then they could only hope that the God of Hunting from their God System would come to their rescue.

However, that deity might rather watch them both die together, then take over their divine positions.

Anbur stood there, waving her claws and trembling angrily, then with fury asked the Goddess of Winter: ”Why isn’t he affected by the illusion? What do you actually know?”

Hill couldn’t help but lower his head and exchange glances with Alice; they both had been blessed by the Goddess of the Silvermoon and felt absolutely nothing.

”That’s also called an Illusion Technique?” Alice couldn’t help saying, ”I couldn’t even tell she was casting spells!”
