Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1598: Chapter 804: Official Filming Begins (Part 2)

Tim Lang’s eyes lit up and he said, ”Wow, Xiao Yun, I didn’t expect you to interpret Hugh Redman’s character this way.”

Zhou Yun nodded and said, ”That’s indeed how I understand it, but truthfully, when Hugh Redman approached me with such intent, I discerned his purpose from the start and prepared to counter at the end.”

”Calm, restrained, intelligent, decisive,” Tim Lang said, ”That’s what I love most about your character.”

”Mm.”

”Have you communicated with Hugh Redman?” Tim Lang inquired.

Zhou Yun said, ”No, in the film, my relationship with him is fundamentally a process of mutual probing, vigilance, and acting. I feel that maintaining this state without communicating beforehand is actually beneficial for our performances.”

”You’re absolutely right,” Tim Lang said, ”That’s wonderful! I love your understanding! It’s almost identical to mine!”

A script story is, in essence, just a story. Each character’s personality and each action’s purpose can be interpreted differently by different people. Without affecting the overall plot and character logic, how a character is elevated tests both the director and the actor.

After chatting with Tim Lang, Zhou Yun headed back to the hotel.

She saw Jin Zhulin and her assistant with luggage at the hotel’s entrance, preparing to leave.

Zhou Yun stood there and called out to her.

Jin Zhulin appeared despondent, her mood equally low.

She looked up at Zhou Yun and was momentarily stunned.

Zhou Yun took a deep breath, walked over with a smile on her face, and asked, ”Are you going back now?”

Jin Zhulin nodded, still with a support on her leg and leaning on a crutch.

She said, ”I no longer have a part in ’Killing Song’. There’s no point in staying here.”

Zhou Yun: ”That’s really unfortunate.”

Jin Zhulin let out a sound of acknowledgment.

”Indeed, it’s quite a pity. Thank you,” she suddenly said.

Zhou Yun: ”If there’s a good opportunity in the future, let’s collaborate again.”

Jin Zhulin smiled and nodded.

”Alright, see you then,” she said.

Zhou Yun watched Jin Zhulin and her assistant leave, walking out of the hotel doors, feeling a mix of helplessness and heartache.

”Hmm? Was that Jin Zhulin?” Suddenly, Hugh Redman appeared beside her.

”Yes.” Zhou Yun asked, ”Where did you go?”

”I just went for a swim at the hotel’s pool,” Hugh Redman replied, ”Have you been there? The pool here is pretty nice.”

”No, I just got back from the training ground. I’m heading up now,” Zhou Yun said.

Hugh Redman asked, ”Want to grab a drink together?”

”I’m tired,” Zhou Yun smiled at him, ”Next time.”

”Alright then.”

Zhou Yun went upstairs, took a shower, dried her hair, and prepared to sleep.

Ever since the training began in the past few days, Zhou Yun has been going to bed early every night. Mainly because the training was so exhausting, after a shower, Zhou Yun would feel a heavy drowsiness.

She sat on the bed, holding her phone, replying to some unanswered messages.

Zhou Lan informed her that ”Child of Prophecy” has already started, Liu Qidong met with Huang Zicheng and Lu Zhongting, and prefers Huang Zicheng.

Zhou Yun replied: Then let’s respect Liu Qidong’s opinion, and also reassure Lu Zhongting there.

Zhou Lan: Yes, I’ve already sent the contracts to the actors’ company, they are under review, should be no problem. Also, this movie’s news has circulated, many people have reached out expressing their desire to participate. Should I tell them you won’t be starring?

Zhou Yun: Let them know. If suitable actors are willing and Liu Qidong agrees, why not agree, as long as it doesn’t exceed the budget.

Zhou Lan: I’m just afraid knowing you won’t star and only be the producer, they might not want to come as much.

Zhou Yun: It’s also not good to deceive people, that’s not fair.

Zhou Lan: Well, alright, since you say so, let’s do it more honestly.

Zhou Yun: Liu Qidong is a new director with a lot he doesn’t understand, help him more. If there are tasks needing me to contact people, just inform me.

Zhou Lan: Okay, understood. You focus on filming over there. I will go over next week, meet you then. I’ve scheduled meetings with two distribution companies there.

Zhou Yun was surprised and asked: How did you arrange meetings with the distribution companies?
