Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1592: Chapter 803: Cruelty (7,000-Word Update!)

There’s a shower room in the training ground.

She quickly got ready, changed into her clothes, and met up with Brillanch at the door.

Brillanch asked, ”In China, do people call you Xiao Yun?”

”Yes.” Zhou Yun nodded with a smile, ”Because I debuted at a young age, many people got used to calling me Xiao Yun directly.”

Brillanch said, ”Then I’ll call you Xiao Yun from now on too.”

”Okay.” Zhou Yun said, ”That’s the name I’m more familiar with anyway. Mr. Brillanch, where’s your daughter now? Is she with you or?”

”She’s living with her mom now and is in school.” Brillanch said, ”With my job, I often travel all over the world, on the move all the time, so she can’t really settle down staying with me.”

”Yeah.” Zhou Yun said, ”Being a parent in the entertainment industry really comes with a lot of challenges.”

Brillanch said, ”Actually, it’s all the same. Once you have kids, all sorts of problems will arise and you’ll need to balance a lot of things.”

Zhou Yun always had a very good impression of Brillanch.

Besides, the reason Zhou Yun was able to land the film ”Killing Song” was thanks to Brillanch’s significant contribution.

Brillanch admired Zhou Yun very much.

She knew Brillanch was a family-oriented person, and the reason he brought his daughter to China back then was because she had never been there. With the opportunity and time available, he decided to bring her along.

That gesture made Zhou Yun really impressed with Brillanch.

Zhou Yun asked, ”After the movie’s finished shooting, when is it expected to be released?”

Brillanch said, ”The schedule hasn’t been announced yet, but we are planning for a release in January next year.”

”January?” Zhou Yun wondered if that was a good slot in the United States.

Brillanch said, ”Other important slots are already booked by big blockbuster movies, so we’re trying to avoid them if possible.”

The lineup for ”Killing Song” is relatively weaker compared to those with major film stars and big productions.

Zhou Yun nodded and asked, ”Will it be released simultaneously in China?”

”That depends on the result of discussions with your country’s management departments.” Brillanch said, ”We certainly hope it can be released globally at the same time, which would save us a lot on promotional costs.”

The post-production and special effects of ”Killing Song” require a lot of money, and Brillanch hopes to save wherever possible.

Developing this film, even buying the rights cost a few million dollars, and Tim Lang as the director demanded a substantial fee, not to mention other expenses.

Mélando provided Fifty Million Dollars for the film’s production budget, and adding the marketing and other expenses, the total cost was estimated to reach Eight Million Dollars. This means the film’s box office would need to hit nearly $250 million to break even—of course, this doesn’t include the income from selling to TV stations, online video platforms, and other countries’ streaming platforms, as well as future earnings from rights development.

The original work of this IP had a high reputation, and the biggest star of this film is the original work itself.

Brillanch handling such a big project was surely under a lot of stress.

Zhou Yun didn’t know whether the film’s global box office would reach $250 million.

But given their initial expectations of achieving a $500 million box office worldwide, the prospects seemed promising.

Zhou Yun chose not to dwell too much on these matters.

Box office results are not something a single actor can determine anyway.

She could only aim to carry the film’s performance in Chinese theaters—since she still had some draw there, but globally—honestly, she knew she needed this film to make a name for herself in the international market.

Dinner was held in a courtyard, an open-air courtyard where everyone was having a barbecue.

As Zhou Yun entered, she was immediately met with cheers from everyone.

She looked surprised at the twenty or so people in the courtyard.

Among them were not only actors but other staff as well.

”Hi, very happy to meet everyone, I’m Zhou Yun.” She immediately greeted them with a smile.

”Hey, Zhou Yun.” American actor Hugh Redman was the first to come over to greet Zhou Yun, ”We meet again!”

Zhou Yun had met him once at Elizabeth’s party.

”Hi.” She smiled and hugged him, ”Long time no see.”

Hugh Redman said, ”I’m really glad we can act together!”
