Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1596: Chapter 803: Cruelty

Everyone hurriedly took Jin Zhulin to the hospital for examination and recuperation.

The doctor advised Jin Zhulin to rest for at least a week, and she needed to use a brace. Ideally, she shouldn’t put any weight on that leg for a week.

Jin Zhulin became anxious upon hearing this.

She immediately said it wouldn’t work; she still needed to film.

This movie was about to start shooting, and there were still many moves she hadn’t mastered yet.

However, the doctor said that if she didn’t rest properly, the injury could linger with her for a lifetime.

Zhou Yun and the others also heard the news.

Soon, Zhou Yun even heard that Mélando was considering replacing Jin Zhulin.

The movie hadn’t started shooting yet, so replacing Jin Zhulin now would minimize losses.

But, was it necessary to go this far?

It’s not like Jin Zhulin would be bedridden for the next few months.

Everyone was discussing it, unsure of how the situation would be handled.

Zhou Yun initially wanted to ask Brillanch about it, but in the end, decided against joining the commotion.

Whatever Mélando decided to do, it was their business.

To everyone’s surprise, the next afternoon, Jin Zhulin appeared at the training ground in a wheelchair.

She told the action coach that she couldn’t learn the lower body moves now, but she could start with the upper body, earnestly asking the coach to arrange the lessons.

Other actors advised her to first recuperate fully.

But Jin Zhulin was stubborn, saying, ”I can’t hold up the crew. Rest assured, I’ll take care of myself and make sure to learn all the moves before shooting begins, keeping up with your pace.”

Zhou Yun felt particularly uneasy hearing her say this.

In reality, this movie was a precious opportunity for everyone; no one wanted to give it up.

Zhou Yun understood more that if it weren’t for her unwillingness to accept defeat, which young person would risk not fully recovering from their injury to continue challenging themselves?

She developed a sense of respect for Jin Zhulin.

The news of Jin Zhulin’s injury also appeared prominently on major entertainment news websites in Korea, attracting widespread attention.

Online, there were rumors suggesting ”Jin Zhulin might withdraw from the ’Killing Song’ crew due to her injury.”

Zhou Yun didn’t know where this rumor originated; whoever said it was just an ordinary account and not any legitimate media.

However, this rumor was very similar to the news circulating within the crew.

Zhou Yun suspected that someone from within the crew might have leaked it out.

Many of Jin Zhulin’s fans in Korea were denouncing Mélando online for failing to protect the actors’ safety.

The public pressure was quite significant at one point.

It even affected Zhou Yun and the other co-actors’ social media accounts.

Many of Jin Zhulin’s fans left comments underneath their posts, or directly @-mentioned them, asking them to take a stand on the issue and join in denouncing Mélando.

This behavior was overly naive.

Not to mention that Jin Zhulin and Mélando were still on good terms. Even if Jin Zhulin had fallen out with Mélando, how could these actors speak up for Jin Zhulin?

Jin Zhulin wasn’t much of a victim.

Of course, the crew had a responsibility to ensure actor safety, but the damage to Jin Zhulin’s knee ligament was also related to her own insistence.

When she couldn’t do a move, the action coach was going to switch it out for her, but she stubbornly insisted on mastering that move, which led to the accident during practice.

On the training ground, the atmosphere among everyone was somewhat silent, not as harmonious and joyful as at the beginning.

Shortly before shooting began, a new face appeared at the training ground, also a Korean actor.

Very young, with a sharp look in her eyes.

Although no one introduced who this girl was, given the current situation, everyone had a clue of what this new girl was here for.

Upon seeing this girl, Jin Zhulin immediately went angrily to Brillanch.

What kind of conversation they had, Zhou Yun and the others didn’t know, but after their conversation, the new girl didn’t leave, and Jin Zhulin still came to the training ground every day, forming a strange stalemate.

In this situation, the nightly gatherings for dinner and watching movies also became awkward.

Tim Lang acted as if nothing had happened, cheerfully pulling everyone together for meals, movie screenings, and conversations every day, no matter what.

This feeling was strange.

Zhou Yun didn’t know how to describe this strange feeling, as if knowing clearly that things weren’t as peaceful as they seemed on the surface, yet having to work hard together with everyone to maintain the appearance of peace.

Jin Zhulin was even more so.

Everyone knew there was someone ready to replace her at any moment, yet she always acted as if nothing had happened, still training, eating, chatting with everyone, her smile bright and cheerful.

But everyone knew it was all an act.

Zhou Yun felt a bit helpless.

That’s how the acting world is, too helpless. When you’re injured, no one can wait for you, the shooting date is set, and delaying even a day increases costs.

The situation drew so much attention that even the domestic entertainment industry started to focus on it.

Even Wang Jing took the initiative to ask her what was going on.

If Jin Zhulin indeed withdrew due to her injury, a role would be available, and most qualified people had their eyes on it.

Wang Jing was no exception.

Zhou Yun understood Wang Jing’s thoughts, knew what she was thinking, so she had to explain the whole story to her, so she wouldn’t think about it anymore—even if Jin Zhulin really dropped out, Mélando had already found a replacement actor.
