Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1597: Chapter 804: Official Start of Filming

Two days before filming, Jin Zhulin suddenly disappeared.

Brillanch and Tim Lang finally formally introduced the new girl to everyone.

”Lew Xi.” Brillanch said, ”From Korea.”

Lew Xi was very thin and very tall, probably the thinnest and tallest among all the actresses.

Brillanch said, ”Lew Xi was previously a model, has no acting experience, but has studied martial arts.”

Zhou Yun and the others introduced themselves to Lew Xi.

Unlike Jin Zhulin, Lew Xi’s personality seemed colder.

When she smiled, it didn’t seem like she was really smiling, there was a very palpable sense of aloofness.

After greeting, Nakajima Hoto whispered to her, ”I feel Lew Xi is rather hard to approach.”

Zhou Yun said, ”It’s okay, as long as everyone cooperates well during filming.”

For some actors, how their co-actors perform isn’t important and does not affect their own performance.

But for some actors, their performance is largely determined by their co-actors’ performance.

Zhou Yun used to rely heavily on her co-actors’ performance, but now she doesn’t rely as much.

For her, a good co-actor would stimulate her creative desires, but if the co-actor wasn’t very good, she knew how to create her own character.

Lew Xi hadn’t acted before, but that’s not unusual in the film industry.

Many actors and actresses have no professional acting experience, yet they manage to deliver brilliant performances.

That’s just the reality.

Zhou Yun felt quite sorry for Jin Zhulin.

She had put in so much effort to persist, to recover, but ultimately she couldn’t hang on and couldn’t appear in this film.

The profession of acting is cruel; anyone can be replaced, really.

You constantly have a sense of crisis.

When you stand at the highest point, that’s when everyone from all sides wants to replace you.

Zhou Yun wondered whether she should contact Jin Zhulin.

They had known each other for a few days, recognized each other, and added each other on social media.

Now that Jin Zhulin had left the crew, she couldn’t act like nothing happened, right?

Zhou Yun thought for a while and still sent Jin Zhulin a message: Hey, Zhulin, very sorry that we didn’t get to cooperate this time, hope we have another chance to work together next time.

Jin Zhulin didn’t reply for a long time.

It was unclear whether she hadn’t checked her phone or didn’t want to reply.

Zhou Yun didn’t overthink it. At this point, Jin Zhulin was surely really upset. No matter what, Zhou Yun could accept it.

Tim Lang came to discuss with Zhou Yun about the character she was going to play.

Tim Lang asked her how she understood this character.

Zhou Yun said, ”She is not a girl who actively wants to enter this game, but due to an accident, she has to get involved in this survival game and can only try her best to stay alive. So, throughout the first half, she doesn’t actively harm others but defensively retaliates when actively attacked by others. Later on, she realizes that everyone in this game is trying their utmost to kill her, and if she doesn’t take the initiative, she won’t survive. It’s at this point that she starts actively attacking others to protect herself. To her, many actions in this game are forced by the environment and situation, not part of her inherent character, so she faces many inner struggles and increasingly uncontrollable emotions.”

Tim Lang said, ”How do you view your alliance with Hugh Redman in this film?”

”He likes me.” Zhou Yun said confidently, ”He surely wants to ally with me because he likes me.”

”But the game is destined for only one person to survive at the end.” Tim Lang said, ”Do you think he would like someone under such circumstances?”

”He would. I don’t think someone cannot simultaneously want to kill the person they like.” Zhou Yun said, ”Hugh Redman wants to ally with me. On one hand, it’s because he likes me; on the other hand, I’m a woman. By allying with me early, he can suppress others, and after eliminating everyone else, he can face me 1v1, which in his eyes gives him a greater chance of winning compared to battling another strong male fighter. That’s how I see it; all the compassion and protection he shows me beforehand are softening my guard against him, and at the moment I also start liking him, it would be effortless for him to kill me.”
