Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1553: Chapter 786: You Really Are a Genius

This time, the protest by Zhou Yun’s fans caught the attention of media worldwide, with reports pouring in from various countries.

In the past, whenever Zhou Yun had even the slightest move, the domestic media would rush to cover it, trying all means to gather information for traffic.

This time, Zhou Yun’s news went global, making a lot of people aware of the situation, and indirectly promoting the movie ”Killing Song”.

Some even speculated whether this was a marketing campaign jointly staged by Mélando and Zhou Yun.

Such voices were quickly drowned out.

Discussions about Zhou Yun were rampant.

Especially the power of Zhou Yun’s fans.

Internationally, Zhou Yun is more of a representative of Chinese actresses, and her international presence is not prominent, she simply has groups of fans in various countries.

However, actresses like her can be found in every country.

Not having some fans in each country doesn’t make one a world-class actor.

But this time, Zhou Yun’s fans evidently erupted with a force that shocked everyone.

This was not the kind of fan power they expected Zhou Yun to have.

In fact, in many Hollywood filmmakers’ eyes, Asian actors, Chinese actors, have weak voice power.

They are at a disadvantage.

Even if they are bullied, most of the time they endure in silence, letting the matter pass easily.

But this time, Zhou Yun’s fans gave everyone the realization: Zhou Yun is not that easy to bully.

Mélando also saw Zhou Yun’s international presence and reputation in this matter.

The higher-ups were not angry about this matter, but rather excited and happy, thinking they chose the right actress in Zhou Yun.

Because of her loyal fan base, there will definitely be a foundation when ”Killing Song” is released.

Having a fan base won’t earn box office revenue, but a fan base can help with movie promotion.

No movie can underestimate the effect of celebrity influence.

Even the works of world-class directors are the same.

The media circle concerning entertainment news was busy for several days.

Some took advantage of this matter to review Zhou Yun’s international journey.

Some took the opportunity to discuss the discrimination Chinese actors face in Hollywood.

Some analyzed Zhou Yun and the future performance of ”Killing Song” by this event.

...

A prominent actor always provides lots of information to the media.

Zhou Yun stayed in her small village filming, ignoring the happenings outside.

Gu Huaichun was about to leave soon.

In these three days, he spent three days filming, yet he felt as if he filmed nothing.

No acting, no shaping, large sections of silence, letting him breathe, feel, and say some of his own words.

Gu Huaichun wondered, is this considered filming?

It shouldn’t be, right?

But if this is not considered filming, does it mean only so-called scene-by-scene acting counts?

Gu Huaichun pondered over this as he left in the car after wrapping up.

In those short three days, he had an exceptionally novel experience.

And Yuk Chu arrived just as he was leaving.

Zhou Yun, excited, ran over to hug her.

Yuk Chu also let out a shriek.

The way they greeted each other left Wen Bing bewildered as he felt the two women resembled two marmots hugging each other.

The scene was inexplicably humorous and funny.

Wen Bing filmed for a while and suddenly felt something was off.

Zhou Yun and Yuk Chu’s private conversation lacked cinematic feel.

It was too real, too raw.

Especially Yuk Chu, who completely lost her expression management, making it look unrealistic instead.

When Wen Bing went over to interrupt them, Yuk Chu suddenly realized in shock.

”What, you were already filming just now?”

Her pupils visibly trembled.

Zhou Yun hugged Yuk Chu, smiled, and said, ”Yes, because our Director Wen Bing wants the most authentic footage.”

”You two are too realistic, too mushy, I don’t want this kind of thing,” Wen Bing said bluntly, ”The whole style doesn’t match the feeling I want.”

Yuk Chu looked dazed.

”Director, what style do you want? What feeling?”

Wen Bing waved his hand and said, ”Let’s talk about it later, let Zhou Yun take you to the room first.” Wen Bing gestured largely, ”I’ll talk to you about the filming plan later.”

Zhou Yun and Yuk Chu’s intimacy in private went beyond Wen Bing’s expectation.

Wen Bing quickly realized he couldn’t continue filming like this, couldn’t use the same approach as with Zhou Yun and Gu Huaichun for Zhou Yun and Yuk Chu.

The friendship between a man and a woman and that between women is ultimately different.

Wen Bing pondered alone for quite a while, then suddenly went into the room to write.

Zhou Yun and Yuk Chu put their things away, came out, but couldn’t find the director, looking bewildered and confused.

”Where’s the director?” Zhou Yun asked.

Wang Zilin said, ”He went into the room, no idea what he’s doing.”

Zhou Yun speculated, ”Could it be he’s writing the script on the spot again?”

Yuk Chu widened her eyes in shock, ”What, the script is written on the spot? There’s no script now?”

Zhou Yun said, ”The current script is more like an outline, no worries, Wen Bing’s film is shot this way, we’re almost at the end.”

Yuk Chu said, ”I, I can’t act without a script.”

Zhou Yun said, ”Don’t worry, you can.”

Yuk Chu shook her head, ”No, I really can’t, Xiao Yun, I don’t have your acting talent, if I don’t have a script, I can’t prepare in advance, if I can’t prepare in advance, I can’t act well.”

That’s just Yuk Chu’s style of performance.

She also knows her strengths and weaknesses.

Making her improvise is simply an impossible task.

Yuk Chu said, ”Had you told me earlier this movie was shot without a script, I wouldn’t have come, Xiao Yun, this is really beyond my ability, I can’t meet your needs.”

Zhou Yun wanted to persuade Yuk Chu again, but at this point, Wen Bing had already come out.

He was holding a handwritten piece of paper, looking like it had just been torn from a notebook.

He handed the paper to Yuk Chu, saying, ”Here’s the script, these are the dialogues, we’ll shoot this scene later.”

Zhou Yun took the paper in surprise and looked at it.

It was only about a dozen sentences of dialogue.

Zhou Yun was amazed.

But the dialogues felt meaningful.

Zhou Yun asked, ”Did you just write this?”

Wen Bing nodded.

Zhou Yun marveled, ”You’re a genius.”

——I’m here.

——I thought you wouldn’t come.

——I just couldn’t get leave before, I don’t have your decisiveness, quitting the job just like that.

——Mocking me again?

——I mock you, envy you, and admire you too, okay? And you’re still so sensitive after all your self-cultivation in this remote wilderness?

...

Wen Bing said, ”It’s just this piece of dialogue, later Yuk Chu will get off the motorcycle, you two will first look at each other and smile, Zhou Yun, you walk towards Yuk Chu, you haven’t seen her in a while, finally meeting her again, you miss her a lot while also feeling sorry for her, remember, your gaze has to convey this feeling, and then, you both need to say these lines in the calmest tone.”

Yuk Chu was getting flustered.

”Wait, wait, wait, let me familiarize myself with the script first.”

Wen Bing asked, ”Didn’t you remember just now?”

”It’s quite a few lines,” Yuk Chu said, ”I’m not some god who can remember everything in one glance.”

Wen Bing said, ”No worries, just capture the essence.”

Yuk Chu shook her head, ”Director, I have to seriously tell you, I’m really not good at improvisation, if you let me improvise, I won’t know how to perform, I’ll just be dumbfounded and frozen on the spot.”

Wen Bing was taken aback, raising an eyebrow.

Yuk Chu said, ”I’m speaking honestly.”

Wen Bing said, ”Alright then, familiarize yourself with the dialogue first.”

Yuk Chu asked Zhou Yun, ”Should we read it together?”

Zhou Yun nodded and agreed.

The two found two small stools, sat close under the eaves, and looked at the dialogue Wen Bing had written together.

Yuk Chu asked, ”So what kind of emotion should I portray when filming? I haven’t figured it out yet.”

Zhou Yun said, ”Don’t overthink, construct an emotional setting on your own first, Wen Bing is sure to be dissatisfied initially, find the feeling, have him find it too, his shooting has no preconceptions, getting inspired after seeing the actors’ performances on the spot.”
