Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1563: Chapter 793: Paparazzi

”What’s your name?” Zhou Yun asked.

The young boy said, ”Lu Ming.”

”Hmm, I’ve remembered your name. Be prepared and contact my studio; they’ll help you arrange an interview,” Zhou Yun said. ”But I’ll only give you one chance, Lu Ming. Whether the final interview turns out good or not, and how the article goes, it’s just this once.”

Lu Ming nodded vigorously, saying, ”Okay, thank you!”

His eyes were sparkling, thrill evident on his face.

Zhou Yun waved his hand, saying, ”I’m leaving.”

Lu Ming nodded, took two steps back, and kept waiting until Zhou Yun drove away. Even when the car disappeared, he stood there, immersed in the surprise brought by this unexpected opportunity.

After completing high school, Lu Ming didn’t pass the university entrance exam and ventured out on his own.

Originally delivering food, he was introduced accidentally to a paparazzi job. The work was tough, requiring him to stake out at the entrance of a celebrity’s neighborhood, follow them for a month, and if nothing exciting was captured, the reward was only two thousand yuan. When Lu Ming heard being a paparazzi was lucrative, he temporarily put aside the idea of delivery work and took the job.

For three months, he did the job, but achieved nothing spectacular, only capturing ordinary moments, earning a total of six thousand yuan.

Through those months, Lu Ming learned a bit about the industry, understood which artist’s news was most profitable, and met people specializing in celebrity gossip. He didn’t need to take small outsourced jobs anymore. This was his first encounter with Zhou Yun, as he heard Zhou Yun returned to Beijing, so he persistently waited at the entrance of the neighborhood where Zhou Yun and Song Chi lived, hoping Zhou Yun would drive out.

Experienced paparazzi usually wouldn’t follow Zhou Yun.

First, everyone knew Zhou Yun’s life was simple and clean, with no big sensational news, merely dining out with friends today or shopping with an assistant tomorrow.

Secondly, Zhou Lan always took care of these paparazzi, simply hoping they’d refrain from bothering Zhou Yun.

Despite all this, paparazzi are people too, with their own emotions and likes and dislikes. Zhou Yun is a celebrity they genuinely like because Zhou Yun never looked down on them or displayed disdain like other stars.

When Zhou Yun was in a good mood and encountered them, she’d even greet them, take a photo together, or share some gossip-worthy details. When in a bad mood, she’d straightforwardly say she wasn’t feeling great, didn’t want to talk, and asked for their understanding.

Such an attitude naturally made them fond of her.

Lu Ming had no mentor, charging ahead with his three-month experience.

Unexpectedly, he landed a chance to interview Zhou Yun.

After a moment of excitement, Lu Ming was completely at a loss, not knowing what to do.

Interview?

How to interview?

What to interview about?

Lu Ming had never done it before, couldn’t comprehend what an interview was, except from watching a few episodes of ”Lu Yu’s interview” during class.

As for those exclusive interview articles, Lu Ming hadn’t read any—only perusing celebrity gossip on forums and websites.

He truly didn’t understand.

But luckily, in this era of abundant online information, although Lu Ming was clueless, he could find numerous celebrity interviews online.

He spent two whole days watching these things.

Frankly speaking, Lu Ming felt he was more diligent now than he ever was in school.

Beyond the motivation to earn money, Lu Ming also had a vague, indescribable excitement.

He was only eighteen, always believing that one day he’d garner widespread attention, becoming the protagonist of this world.

He harbored such expectations. When Zhou Yun unexpectedly gave him this opportunity, he was thrilled—could this be the first door Heaven had opened for him?

Not passing the university entrance exam was just a setback; he believed better opportunities awaited him.

Now he awaited this chance.

If Zhou Yun knew Lu Ming’s thoughts, she’d likely retract the opportunity. Failing the entrance exam was just failing; if you didn’t work hard, who can you blame? Thinking Heaven wants to give you setbacks—your lack of effort is why you didn’t score well; is that a setback?
