Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1486: Chapter 673: Preparations (2)

He Yong was stunned and asked, ”What’s going on?”

Zhou Jianfeng said helplessly, ”Everyone has their own ideas. I don’t want to get involved, but in the end, I am always forced to take a side.”

He Yong: ”Ah? Have you again encountered such situations? Is it a problem with the fellow guests on the show?”

Zhou Jianfeng nodded and said, ”I’ve encountered this type of situation for the first time, some people even got into a fight, I don’t know if it will be shown in the program.”

He Yong’s eyes shifted and he immediately made a phone call.

”Help me schedule a meeting with Director Wang from Hongcheng TV Station, see when he has time for a lunch appointment,” He Yong said over the phone.

After hanging up, He Yong said to Zhou Jianfeng, ”Jianfeng, don’t worry, I will negotiate with the TV station, no matter what, there won’t be any negative footage of you in the program, rest assured.”

Zhou Jianfeng scratched his head and sighed.

He Yong: ”Don’t sigh, it’s okay. If you aren’t happy working with these people this time, inform your agent, in the future avoid collaborations with people you don’t like, it’s okay.”

Upon hearing this, Zhou Jianfeng was a bit surprised and somewhat insecure, asking, ”Is this okay?”

He Yong immediately said, ”What’s wrong about it? You have plenty of options now. Some grievances can be tolerated, but why endure meaningless ones? Come to me directly for any problems that your agent can’t resolve. I’ve been in this industry for so many years, you’re the young talent I value most. I hope to see you reach the top one day. So, regardless of what happens, we aren’t afraid; we’ll solve it together.”

Zhou Jianfeng showed a grateful expression.

He Yong said, ”This time you went to record a program, I helped to negotiate a film role for you, the male lead, produced by New Shield.”

Zhou Jianfeng revealed an expression of surprise.

”The female lead is Yu Sitian, the production company and your co-star are both excellent,” He Yong said, ”You give it your best, and I’ll continue talking to various companies to help secure good resources for you.”

”Thank you, boss!” Zhou Jianfeng said excitedly.

He Yong patted Zhou Jianfeng’s shoulder and said, ”No need to be polite, I watched you grow up, I only want you to continue getting better.”

”I will work hard,” Zhou Jianfeng said.

...

”’Left Hand’?” Zhou Lan nodded and said, ”I’ve heard of this novel, what’s up? Are you going to film it?”

”Yes, we’re going to film it.” Sitting opposite Zhou Lan was another big-eyed beauty with wavy hair and a mature charm. She is Zhou Lan’s friend at New Shield, named Zeng Xiuyan.

Zeng Xiuyan said, ”Our President Yao bought the copyright of this novel back then, but it hasn’t been filmed. If we don’t start production soon, the copyright will expire, so we hurriedly need to set up the project and start filming.”

Zhou Lan said, ”This novel was quite popular back then, why hasn’t it been filmed for so long?”

”Because the adaptation difficulty is too high, scripts written before couldn’t pass the censorship,” Zeng Xiuyan sighed, ”This time we’ve done a major overhaul. After taking a glance, I estimate when it releases, the book fans will criticize it fiercely.”

Hearing this, Zhou Lan nodded and said, ”Then the actors in this drama will probably be criticized too.”

”Who knows, but President Yao still places great importance on this drama as a hefty sum was spent on its copyright,” Zeng Xiuyan smiled and said, ”They cast Zhou Jianfeng and Yu Sitian.”

”That’s quite a strong lineup,” Zhou Lan said a bit surprised.

”It is strong, it’s a big IP after all,” Zeng Xiuyan said.

Zhou Lan asked in confusion, ”But why did Zhou Jianfeng take on this drama? He’s at the peak of his career, not lacking attention, why perform? Can’t his agent see the script is too outlandish and will be criticized by book fans?”

Zeng Xiuyan said, ”No one really knows, but Zhou Jianfeng’s face truly suits the male lead in ’Left Hand’.”

Zhou Lan laughed and said, ”I know, you really like Zhou Jianfeng’s type.”

Zeng Xiuyan nodded.

”You get me.”

”He’s only in his early twenties.”

”Doesn’t stop me from glancing at him a bit more.”

”Alright, you win.”

Zhou Lan laughed and shook her head.

Drinking afternoon tea with Zeng Xiuyan is one of Zhou Lan’s many activities.

In fact, she has many such activities, nothing fixed, but she needs to chat with others to maintain relationships.
