Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1451: Chapter 747: Assault_4

Zhou Lan noticed that Zhou Yun’s face still showed confusion, unease, and restlessness, thinking that Zhou Yun was still immersed in the fear brought by the sudden attack just now.

She gently touched Zhou Yun’s shoulder.

”Don’t worry, I will always be by your side.”

Zhou Yun held Zhou Lan’s hand and nodded.

No matter what, at least that person was caught.

Even if that person had other intentions, he couldn’t achieve them.

It’s just that as soon as she landed, she encountered such an incident, Zhou Yun had a bad premonition, feeling it was an ill omen.

Having such a thing happen at the airport, Zhou Lan didn’t even intend to stop the news from spreading.

It’s definitely impossible to cover this up, especially with so many of Zhou Yun’s fans present.

Nowadays, everyone has a phone, with self-media and the internet being so developed, any breeze or movement will spread in an instant.

On her way to the hotel, Zhou Lan called the public relations personnel in China, briefly explaining the incident to them, so they could prepare a statement in advance.

After finishing the call, she turned back intending to talk to Zhou Yun, only to see Zhou Yun closing her eyes, leaning back on her chair, it was unclear whether she was asleep or just resting her eyes.

Zhou Lan didn’t speak further.

She picked up her phone again, opened Weibo, first to check the movements on Weibo.

Sure enough, although Zhou Yun hadn’t hit the hot search yet, several bloggers she followed had already gotten wind of it, each posting about Zhou Yun’s attack at the airport.

Zhou Lan searched Zhou Yun’s name, and all the real-time updates were filled with photos of Zhou Yun being attacked at the scene.

Because someone happened to be filming Zhou Yun, a complete video was recorded and uploaded to Weibo.

Zhou Lan instinctively furrowed her brows.

She put on her earphones, clicked on the video, and watched the footage taken at the scene.

The situation at the scene was very chaotic.

The incident happened so suddenly, the entire process lasted only a few seconds.

Zhou Lan was actually a bit surprised.

Zhou Yun isn’t normally such a fragile person; how could she feel so uneasy in such an attack?

Zhou Yun had been attacked before, but back then she was even calmer than Zhou Lan, not really taking it to heart; while afraid inside, she could still muster a facade of indifference.

It’s not to say that pretending means being unafraid, but...

Zhou Lan didn’t know how to describe it, she felt Zhou Yun was scared this time.

But Zhou Lan thought that the earlier situation shouldn’t have scared Zhou Yun.

Watching the video a second time, Zhou Lan suddenly noticed something odd.

Zhou Yun’s expression was off.

When Zhou Yun looked at the attacker, she appeared shocked and stunned, along with the unease that Zhou Lan sensed when Zhou Yun was speaking to her earlier.

Upon watching the video a third time, Zhou Lan noticed the expression on the attacker’s face.

”Xiao Yun!” Zhou Lan exclaimed.

Zhou Yun opened her eyes.

”What’s wrong, Sister Lan?”

”Do you know this attacker?” Zhou Lan asked.

Zhou Yun frowned in surprise, saying, ”I don’t know him, why are you asking this?”

Zhou Lan handed her phone to Zhou Yun, saying, ”Look, here’s the video someone recorded on site; look at this attacker... he looks like he knows you. You really don’t know him? Didn’t you feel his smile was particularly creepy? It seems like he was specifically trying to frighten and intimidate you.”

Zhou Yun was surprised that someone had recorded the video.

This brought her great unexpectedness.

”I—I indeed had that feeling, especially the way he kept staring at me after, made me feel uneasy even now,” Zhou Yun said. ”I haven’t had a chance to tell you, fearing it was just my illusion.”

”This person is too strange, it’s not just a simple attack on a foreign female celebrity.” Zhou Lan’s eyes darkened, ”I must investigate this incident further.”

”You don’t need to delve into it; let the police handle it.”

”If the police handle this, it will just become a regular attack incident, no. I need to find out more or I won’t feel at peace,” Zhou Lan said. ”Let me make a call first.”

Zhou Lan made more than one call.

To be precise, Zhou Lan didn’t stop making calls until she reached the hotel.

She contacted many individuals, apparently acquaintances in France, people with some connections.

When they finally arrived at the hotel, Zhou Lan had already made no less than ten calls.

A woman with short golden hair and a very capable and lean appearance stood at the hotel entrance, waiting with several others. As soon as Zhou Yun and her party got off, they were greeted in English.

”Hi, Zhou Yun, I heard you encountered a thug at the airport, hope you weren’t injured?”

The first thing was a concerned inquiry.

Zhou Yun and Zhou Lan exchanged a glance, neither of them knew who this woman with short golden hair was.

”Sorry, in my rush, I forgot to introduce myself; I’m Joanna.”

Upon hearing this name, Zhou Lan immediately showed an understanding expression, smiling in surprise and said, ”Joanna, so it’s you, we finally meet!”

She turned to introduce Zhou Yun, ”Xiao Yun, this is D group’s global PR director, Joanna. She’s also a fan of yours and has been a major force in pushing cooperation between us and D group.”

This sentence was spoken in Chinese to Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun nodded, indicating she understood.

In short, this is someone to whom they should pay their respects and make connections.

”Joanna, nice to meet you, Zhou Lan has mentioned you many times; thank you for liking me and for consistently introducing me to your brand,” Zhou Yun said in English.

Joanna’s eyes showed admiration and affection for Zhou Yun.

”I’ve been looking for an opportunity to meet you; several times when I was on business in China, I wanted to schedule a meeting with you. But every time I was in China, you were either filming or abroad. Now, we finally meet,” Joanna said kindly and elegantly to Zhou Yun, ”I heard you encountered a thug at the airport, and that individual is a racist, it’s terrible. Our living environment constantly sees such unpleasant people. I hope this doesn’t affect your mood.”

Zhou Yun smiled and said, ”I was somewhat affected, but I’m feeling much better now.”

”That’s good.” Joanna handed the gift she brought to Zhou Yun, ”Welcome to Paris, I won’t disturb your rest anymore. We’ll meet again tomorrow.”

”Okay.” Zhou Yun smiled and nodded, bidding farewell to Joanna.

Once they left, and the check-in procedures were completed.

Zhou Yun went upstairs with Zhou Lan.

Zhou Lan said, ”D group has shown a lot of sincerity towards you, even arranging for Joanna to personally greet you.”

”Later, help me prepare a gift to give her when we leave,” Zhou Yun said. ”Although it’s just part of the job, I genuinely like her; she gives me a very comfortable feeling.”

”She truly likes you,” Zhou Lan said, ”She’s posted on Twitter several times about the dramas you starred in, praising you.”

Zhou Yun felt slightly surprised.

”I thought it was just social niceties.”
