Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1468: Chapter 754: Greasy

”Knock knock.”

Liu Yun came knocking.

Zhou Yun opened the door and asked, ”Ready to go?”

”Yeah, the car is already waiting downstairs,” Liu Yun said.

Zhou Yun: ”Alright, I’ll grab my stuff.”

She picked up her bag, put on her sunglasses, and went downstairs with Liu Yun.

She didn’t have any fashion show work today, but she accepted an artist’s invitation to attend his exhibition.

Zhou Yun happened to be free today, so she gladly accepted the invite.

This artist is from France, and he attended the big show at the D house yesterday.

Zhou Yun met him at the party after the show.

Zhou Yun didn’t know the artist beforehand, but the introducer was Joanna, whose attitude in handling the Gilan Stuer matter pleased Zhou Yun. So when she sensed Joanna hoped she’d attend the artist’s event if she had time, Zhou Yun immediately accepted the invitation.

Zhou Lan didn’t come with her.

She had an appointment to visit the editor-in-chief of the French V magazine today.

France’s V magazine is arguably the world’s top fashion magazine, without a contender.

It’s the leading force.

Zhou Lan wasn’t expecting Zhou Yun to land on the cover of French V magazine—it’s inherently difficult for a Chinese actress.

However, Zhou Lan thought since we’re here, why not establish a connection first?

Besides, with D house’s attention and fondness for Zhou Yun, they might be willing to buy her a cover in the future.

Zhou Yun didn’t concern herself with these matters of Zhou Lan’s.

She arrived at the exhibition venue, got off the car, and found several photographers at the entrance snapping pictures of people coming and going.

When she appeared, a few photographers recognized her and excitedly motioned for her to look at the camera.

Because of this commotion, people nearby turned to look at her.

Zhou Yun had long moved past the stage of feeling embarrassed under the gaze of others.

She waved to the photographers, pleased and unfazed, without slowing her pace, and walked in with Liu Yun.

The artist named Daniel Lee, a tall, handsome Korean, unlike many artists in the news with prominent artistic flair.

As soon as Zhou Yun entered, the handsome artist greeted her with a smile.

”Hi, Xiao Yun.” Daniel Lee extended his hand to shake Zhou Yun’s, ”Welcome.”

Zhou Yun presented the bouquet Liu Yun helped her prepare and said, ”Congratulations!”

Daniel Lee received it with a smile, ”Thank you for coming to support.”

Daniel Lee isn’t a very famous artist.

Strictly speaking, he’s just starting out, and this is his first exhibition in France.

In this era, whatever you do cannot be separated from fame.

An artist also needs to become known.

First, the industry needs to recognize you.

Next, you need recognition in the market.

Often, an artist’s level of skill is essentially linked to how much their artwork sells for.

The more artistic something is, the more estimable it becomes—not that art equals money, but money will outline the shadow of art.

Zhou Yun was more curious about the relationship between Daniel Lee and Joanna.

However, Joanna being willing to help Daniel Lee wasn’t surprising.

The fashion industry can’t be separated from the art domain.

As far as Zhou Yun knows, many fashion world figures have deep connections with people in other artistic fields.

A so-called circle.

Zhou Yun hadn’t entered that circle.

She met many friends—artists, pianists, architects, violinists, calligraphers, and so on—through work.

But Zhou Yun wasn’t familiar with them; after exchanging contact information, they often lost touch later.

Zhou Yun hadn’t found common ground with them before.

Moreover, Zhou Yun wasn’t particularly interested in those things.

Good music worth listening to, nice art worth looking at—that’s about it.

She’s not someone who could discern art in detail or critique it passionately.

As she glanced through the paintings in the exhibition hall.

Daniel Lee’s paintings are very modernistic, and indeed, beautiful.

Zhou Yun couldn’t understand them but could tell they were beautiful—a visual impression.

”Xiao Yun, you’re here too.”

Wen Xi’s voice suddenly rang from behind her.

Zhou Yun looked at Wen Xi in surprise.

”What a coincidence.”

”It might not be a coincidence; did Joanna call you too?” Wen Xi asked.

Zhou Yun said, ”Joanna specifically introduced me to Daniel Lee last night.”

”I thought so.” Wen Xi smiled wryly, ”We’re all here to support her.”

”Is Joanna that generous? How many people did she invite to support this guy?” Zhou Yun curiously asked.

Wen Xi glanced at Zhou Yun in surprise and asked, ”You didn’t know yet? Daniel Lee isn’t just a friend of hers.”

”Hmm?”

”I’ve long heard they might be dating, just not publicly,” Wen Xi said.

Zhou Yun widened her eyes in shock.

”Now you know why Joanna is doing this, right?” Wen Xi smiled faintly and said, ”Otherwise, why would Joanna use all her connections, you see.”

Zhou Yun followed Wen Xi’s gaze and saw Gilan Stuer and William Stanthorpe walking over together.

The two weren’t holding hands but were walking side by side, easily leading others to assume there might be something between them.

As soon as Gilan Stuer saw Zhou Yun, her face turned cloudy.

”Why do I keep running into her?” Zhou Yun also felt upset.

Wen Xi said, ”I didn’t expect to see her here either.”

”Let’s not engage her, let’s go,” Zhou Yun said.

Wen Xi nodded, and the two turned to leave.

Just then, William Stanthorpe unexpectedly exclaimed, ”Hey, my rumor girlfriend!”

Zhou Yun nearly stumbled and fell.

She turned back in surprise, looking at William Stanthorpe incredulously.

She instinctively wanted to ask William Stanthorpe, ”What are you doing? Are you crazy?”

But seeing the nonchalant, carefree expression on his face, Zhou Yun realized this was just a joke to him, nothing he took seriously. If she seriously questioned him, it’d make her seem petty and unable to handle the humor.

Zhou Yun glanced at Gilan Stuer, whose face was unhappy and disapproving of her, and said to William Stanthorpe, ”Mr. Stantu, calling me that might make your official girlfriend jealous; I’m not taking the blame.”

”Official girlfriend?” William Stanthorpe immediately looked around and said, ”Where is she? I don’t know I have an official girlfriend.”

Zhou Yun noticed that when William Stanthorpe said this, Gilan Stuer’s face stiffened.

Now she understood they weren’t officially together yet.

Zhou Yun didn’t mention anything about Gilan Stuer and only chuckled, saying, ”Not yet, but you will have one. I don’t want the label of a rumor girlfriend hanging over me.”

William Stanthorpe said, ”I always thought I was quite popular, but turns out I overestimated myself.”

Zhou Yun was at a loss for words, unsure how to respond to this.

Does this man even know what he’s talking about?

Slimy.

Zhou Yun silently criticized in her mind.
