Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1467: Chapter 753: One’s Own Path

William Stanthorpe is the dream lover of many women in the European and American circles.

He’s handsome, successful in his career, and most importantly, his family is powerful and wealthy.

Such a person has always been a hot topic chased by the media.

If any female celebrity is dating him, that celebrity is inevitably the focus of all media’s cameras.

It’s not that William Stanthorpe is popular, but the story of a female celebrity and a rich heir is always something that the public enjoys.

Such rich heirs often show up around Zhou Yun, but Zhou Yun quickly went public with her boyfriend, Song Chi, soon after her rise to fame. Besides, her status rose rapidly, and those rich heirs couldn’t catch up. Eventually, fewer men appeared around Zhou Yun.

This is the reality. When it comes to choosing a partner, many people weigh their own value.

Just like in ancient times, how many dared to pursue a noblewoman?

Zhou Yun did not expect that after going abroad, she’d be involved in such a scandal.

The news was hyped by the media on Outer Island.

The headline was particularly alarming.

”Top star Zhou Yun suspected of dating French rich heir, Song Chi cuckolded?”

As soon as the headline came out, the internet exploded.

Zhou Yun cheating?

In the past year, there hadn’t been any trending news related to romance about Zhou Yun.

Amazingly, such a news broke out suddenly, shocking everyone.

Upon closer look, it was disappointing.

The media on Outer Island merely captured a photo of Zhou Yun and William Stanthorpe laughing together, and nothing else. All descriptions of their relationship were purely textual, or terms like ”according to insiders.”

This trending news was all about fanfare with no substantial content.

Many people even cursed the media for being tantalizing.

In this incident, many were surprised to find out a fact.

When this news broke out, most people just regarded it as a joke.

Most of them didn’t believe Zhou Yun would be with someone like William Stanthorpe, and hardly anyone believed Zhou Yun would cuckold Song Chi.

Everyone was simply watching the gossip since there hadn’t been any about Zhou Yun for a long time.

...

”What if it’s true?” Xu Siyao immediately said, ”Zhou Yun really set up such an image for herself, and everyone still believes she’s a woman who values love above all. Haha, I really didn’t expect everyone to naively believe she wouldn’t be attracted by a man’s family and background.”

”Do you think this is true?” the assistant asked.

Xu Siyao shook her head and said, ”Who knows, but Zhou Yun isn’t stupid. What’s in it for her to date someone like that? She’s not a newcomer trying to make a name abroad. A rich heir from a French media group—what can he offer Zhou Yun? Exposure? Popularity? Haha, what Zhou Yun lacks the least right now is that.”

The assistant thought, then why did you say so much earlier?

After all that, you don’t believe Zhou Yun and that William Sture are real either.

...

There are many people like Xu Siyao.

For various reasons, they don’t believe Zhou Yun is as smart, independent, and wise as the media and others portray, or that she doesn’t care about fame and fortune.

However, they know very well that someone like William Sture is far from enough to move Zhou Yun.

Admitted or not, the undeniable fact is that Zhou Yun has indeed stepped out of the country and started making a name for herself internationally.

Maybe her recognition isn’t high enough yet, known only by some very professional film media and small circles, and she hasn’t gained broad, nationwide fame yet, but she has taken a very crucial step.

For those in the film and entertainment industry, Zhou Yun is no longer a nobody on the global stage.

Wherever she goes, she has a few works that people have seen or heard of.

People wouldn’t completely ignore her origin.

This is what other actors envy and resent most.

Like Xu Siyao.

In the country, perhaps in the eyes of many, Xu Siyao is just one or two levels below Zhou Yun.

After all, Xu Siyao also has a strong lead role capability, a group of loyal fans, and considerable fame and popularity; she’s better than some, not as good as others.

But once she steps onto the international stage, sorry, Xu Siyao is just a nobody.

A nobody with no film company recognizing you, no audience knowing you, naturally, no other collaborators would take you seriously.

The most difficult phase in any industry is the transition from nothing to something.

...

”Did William Sture really express his interest in you?”

Yuk Chu gossiped with Zhou Yun in a video call.

Zhou Yun said, ”Not at all. He just exchanged a few words with me. I don’t even know who took the photos, and it turned into this.”

Yuk Chu said, ”Then you don’t know how the media spun this event.”

”Sigh.”

”When are you coming back?” Yuk Chu asked, ”Sigh, you don’t know how hard I’ve been working lately. I’m numb from filming.”

”Are there a lot of scenes?” Zhou Yun asked.

”Sigh, isn’t it because the male lead in my play is also shooting another film simultaneously? No choice. When he’s not around, they can only keep shooting with me alone. I’ve practically finished half the scenes with his stand-in.”

”How did it get like this?”

”Forget it, there’s nothing much to say. This film can only sell with him in it, so he has the confidence to do so.”

”Who is it?”

”Qin Zhihe,” Yuk Chu said, ”Do you know him?”

”I know him. I’ve met him a few times at events, but haven’t worked together. How could he do this?”

”His company probably arranged it for him. The other film he’s shooting is an investment from his company, and they insisted he be in it,” Yuk Chu said, ”He’s actually quite nice, knowing he’s causing us a lot of trouble. He sends us food and drinks every other day. He has a good attitude.”

”His company...” Zhou Yun knew that many times, actors aren’t always in control.

She said, ”Won’t the crew hold his company responsible? Just taking him away like that.”

”The crew wouldn’t dare hold his company responsible. It’s said that it’s because of Qin Zhihe’s participation that the platform is willing to pay a high price to buy this show.”

”Sigh.” Zhou Yun sighed helplessly.

Yuk Chu said, ”It’s okay. It’s been hard on me, but I can at least finish early and take a break sooner.”

Zhou Yun said, ”Have you taken on any other projects afterward?”

”I have,” Yuk Chu said, ”Sister Lan secured seven or eight projects for me all at once.”

”You’re still breastfeeding. Why does she arrange so many projects for you?”

”It was my idea. The show I did with you at the beginning of the year, ’Deep Sea,’ finally made me a bit popular. I want to seize the opportunity and keep the momentum going. Now I can finally play leading roles, and I’m afraid if I don’t seize this opportunity, I won’t have a market again when this period passes.”

”How could that be, Yuk Chu? You should trust Zhou Lan; she’s very capable,” Zhou Yun said. ”With us here, you’ll never have to worry about these things again.”

”I know, but I still want to truly stand on my own.”

”Okay then, take care of yourself and don’t overwork,” Zhou Yun said.

”Don’t worry. Sister Lan requires me to take at least half a month off after each project before starting the next,” Yuk Chu said.

Zhou Yun hung up the phone, sighed, but couldn’t say anything further.

Now is indeed Yuk Chu’s best time and phase, and she has the most opportunities.

Everyone has their own path to walk.
