Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1481: Chapter 761: A Delicious Taste

Zhou Lan said, ”For her, with good opportunities, she’s even more afraid to waste her chances, always keeping herself tense. Even if she’s a bit tired, she wants to act in one more play. In the past two years, she’s been stuck in this state. It’s just the right time for her, and every play she does achieves good results. As a result, the entire industry and her fans place higher expectations on her, increasing her pressure. She doesn’t dare to slack off or be perfunctory, and over time, she’s started to feel unable to handle it.”

Wen Bing frowned upon hearing Zhou Lan say this.

From Zhou Lan’s description, he could also feel that Zhou Yun’s previous problems seemed very serious.

”Is it really that serious?” Wen Bing said, ”When Zhou Yun mentioned it to me before, she spoke very casually, and I thought she was just tired.”

”That’s not the case at all. If it were just pure exhaustion, wouldn’t half a month’s rest be enough?” Zhou Lan sighed. ”Zhou Yun just didn’t want you to worry too much, she hadn’t even talked much about it with Song Chi. That’s why she refused you this time. But, Director Wen, do you have to shoot this movie in November? Can’t you postpone it to next year?”

Wen Bing shook his head.

”I have shooting plans for both next year and the year after, and can’t find the time to shoot this unless I postpone it to the year after next.” Wen Bing sighed with a smile, ”Maybe the heavens just don’t want me to shoot it. Previously, Yao Yuanfeng also opposed me shooting this.”

”Well, there’s no need to say that. If Xiao Yun can’t act, aren’t there other actresses?” Zhou Lan tentatively asked, ”Don’t you have any other alternative actresses?”

Wen Bing said, ”If it were any other film, sure, but for this movie... I really don’t have an alternative. This isn’t a film that calls for acting skills; neither the actor nor the shooting requires that kind of technical stuff. If Zhou Yun can’t make it, I think others won’t be able to understand what I want.”

These words stumped Zhou Lan.

Even if a role is particularly difficult and few actors can perform it, it’s okay. There is at least a standard for the role, although many may not reach it, but you can still search one by one.

Wen Bing’s words mean that he himself hasn’t actually figured out how the role should be played, or rather, in Wen Bing’s view, the role doesn’t require acting at all.

Upon hearing it, Zhou Lan knew what kind of actor Wen Bing wanted. To put it bluntly, Wen Bing wants an actor who can naturally follow his current mindset into a certain state.

This requires not only the actor’s excellent acting skills but also a high level of understanding and emotional resonance with Wen Bing.

Zhou Lan suddenly didn’t know how to speak.

She understood what Wen Bing meant.

If it were a movie like ”Female Assassin,” even if Zhou Yun didn’t act, other actresses could be found to play the role, with differences in performance. But for this movie, if Zhou Yun doesn’t act, it can’t be shot.

Zhou Lan hesitated for a moment and asked, ”If Xiao Yun really doesn’t act in the end, Director Wen, will you just not shoot the movie?”

Wen Bing sighed, shrugged, and said, ”Maybe, it’s possible we’ll just have to go with that.”

Zhou Lan didn’t speak for a long time, finally saying, ”Well then, let me ask Xiao Yun once more.”

Wen Bing shook his head, ”Don’t force her.”

Zhou Lan replied, ”I feel that if Xiao Yun knows that in your eyes, the movie can’t be shot without her, she will reconsider.”

Normally, if actor A doesn’t act in a play, naturally actor B will replace them.

Given Zhou Lan’s understanding of Zhou Yun, she believes Zhou Yun has never considered that Director Wen’s movie essentially can’t be made without her.

However, Zhou Lan is also conflicted; does she want Zhou Yun to act in this movie?

”Falling Leaves” has been unable to release in the domestic market for some underlying reasons.

Besides this movie, Zhou Yun has other projects in hand like ”Female Assassin,” ”Chen Yin,” and the soon to shoot ”Killing Song,” where the roles Zhou Yun plays are relatively tragic.

In fact, almost all the roles found for Zhou Yun are like that.

It seems that only complex roles can be given to Zhou Yun.

This is also the reason Zhou Lan finds Director Wen’s movie somewhat attractive.

Honestly, most of Zhou Yun’s fans in the film industry come from the film ”Life.”

Tragic roles aren’t necessarily bad, but once played too often, it easily forms a stereotype in the audience’s minds.
