Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1474: Chapter 759: Some Turmoil (2)

Song Chi basically only manages the broad direction.

Wu Chengbao said, ”The second part of ’Two Tigers’ has been put on hold.”

”Hmm?” Song Chi was taken aback as soon as he heard it. Firstly, this was Zhou Yun’s play, which he was very familiar with, and secondly, he didn’t understand why even if this play was put on hold, it mattered to Wu Chengbao; why did he come to tell him this?

Wu Chengbao saw Song Chi’s expression and knew what he was thinking.

He smiled and said, ”The reason this show was put on hold, I heard, is that Liang Yuanpu is not satisfied with the script.”

”Hmm?” Upon hearing this, Song Chi was a bit surprised, ”What do you mean?”

”In the first part, Liang Yuanpu was the male lead, and your guy just made a guest appearance, but when the script for the second part was written, your guy’s part was almost equal to Liang Yuanpu’s, and Liang Yuanpu wasn’t happy about that,” Wu Chengbao explained.

Upon hearing this, Song Chi frowned.

Such a thing happened?

Actually, this kind of thing is not uncommon.

In a play, it’s very common for actors to fight over how many parts they get; there are always those who lead and those who get outshined.

If you get more scenes, it naturally means you’re slightly more important in this play.

Plainly speaking, it’s still about fame and profit.

Song Chi or Zhou Yun basically have not encountered this kind of thing, because their status in the worldly society is right there, and it’s rare for someone not sensible to try to fight over parts with them.

But Liang Yuanpu indeed has the qualification to do so.

And this matter may not necessarily be directed at Zhou Yun by Liang Yuanpu.

One can only say that at the level of actors they’ve reached, nobody is willing to play second fiddle to others.

Thinking from another perspective, if Song Chi encountered this kind of situation, he probably wouldn’t be happy if an actor, who was just a supporting character in the first part, suddenly shares screen time with him in the second.

This is not sharing but rather turning what was initially supposed to be his prominent single-handed show into something evenly split between two.

Song Chi asked, ”Didn’t New Shield try to work something out with Liang Yuanpu?”

Wu Chengbao said, ”They did, but Liang Yuanpu wasn’t buying it. After all, he’s Liang Yuanpu, and if he truly doesn’t want to, there’s nothing anyone can do about it.”

Liang Yuanpu’s status in the Chinese film industry is too high.

At his level, he’s practically a legend.

He doesn’t seek out film companies; rather, film companies beg him to star in movies.

Anyone who loves movies would recognize him basically.

In fact, if it weren’t for his high status, he wouldn’t have openly rejected New Shield’s script.

Song Chi is now worried that if this thing spreads, it might lead to misunderstandings that Liang Yuanpu quit because Zhou Yun wanted more scenes, which would be bad for Zhou Yun if such rumors came out.

Even if we ignore others, Liang Yuanpu’s standing in the public’s mind and other aspects far surpasses Zhou Yun’s.

After all, the former has been famous for decades, not something Zhou Yun, who has only been in the industry for a few years, can compare with.

Now Song Chi understood why Wu Chengbao came over to find him.

Song Chi fell into deep thought.

That Wu Chengbao came looking for Song Chi also shows he understands what Song Chi is pondering over.

This matter is ordinary if you say so, and not ordinary if you say so; it all depends on how it ultimately unfolds.

He paused and reminded, ”Anyway, you should let your guy know about this as soon as possible, so they’re not kept in the dark.”

...

Meanwhile, Zhou Lan also got the news from someone she was on good terms with. As soon as she hung up the phone, her face fell.

What is this!

The script for the second part of ’Two Tigers’ was rejected by Liang Yuanpu. New Shield approached Liang Yuanpu several times, but they couldn’t convince him, clearly showing that Liang Yuanpu was dissatisfied with the current script.

And the most crucial issue was not being happy with Zhou Yun’s part being equal to his.

Zhou Lan was quite angry.

She was angry that such a big thing had happened and New Shield hadn’t communicated with her about it.

If she hadn’t made friends at New Shield, and some wind sound was blown her way, she wouldn’t have known even now.

Zhou Lan immediately went to find Zhou Yun.

”Yao Yuanfeng is keeping us in the dark, not letting us know,” Zhou Lan said angrily. ”If, by any chance, this gets around in the circle, those who don’t understand might think we want to challenge Liang Yuanpu, and then no matter how many mouths we have, we won’t be able to explain it.”

Zhou Yun already knew this from Song Chi.

She was just about to tell Zhou Lan when Zhou Lan contacted her and came over.

Zhou Yun understood why Zhou Lan was so angry.

She was also angry when she received Song Chi’s call because she hadn’t even seen a trace of this script, and New Shield had directly finished the script and sent it to Liang Yuanpu.
