Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1452: Chapter 748: Investigation

Zhou Yun usually has to interact with too many people at work.

Everyone says they like her when they’re in front of her and that they’re her fans.

Zhou Yun subconsciously categorized these people as a type of ”social”.

Is Joanna really her fan?

Zhou Yun thought, maybe she is.

But it’s just a personal preference.

D’s attitude towards her is definitely not solely based on Joanna’s attitude.

Zhou Yun also doesn’t want to mix personal emotions and preferences into her work.

Just like Joanna doesn’t only like her as an actress, and the brand executives who admire her aren’t limited to Joanna.

When it comes to future cooperation, whether to work together or not involves many interest relationships.

Zhou Yun isn’t saying she doesn’t care about Joanna’s appreciation and liking for her, she just doesn’t want these personal things to overshadow decisions that are initially based on vested interests.

After she figured this out, Zhou Yun said to Zhou Lan, ”Sister Lan, I don’t plan to sign an endorsement deal with D in the near term, so let’s keep a certain distance from them. Being too close isn’t good.”

Zhou Lan immediately understood what Zhou Yun meant.

”I understand.” Zhou Lan nodded, ”However, a friendly cooperative relationship can still be maintained, right?”

”Like this time, watching their show or attending their events is fine, but after all, we signed a contract with VX, didn’t we?” Zhou Yun said.

Zhou Lan nodded.

”Looks like you’re planning to continue a long-lasting collaboration with VX.”

”They haven’t done anything against me, and they’ve always been nice to me. Why not continue cooperating?” Zhou Yun said, ”I achieved what I have today along with VX, and I am quite willing to accompany it to climb higher.”

”I hope Zheng Xiaowen and the others live up to your sincerity.” Zhou Lan said.

Zhou Yun knew there were some past grievances between Zhou Lan and Zheng Xiaowen.

She didn’t explain anything.

Once in the room, Zhou Yun said, ”Sister Lan, I’ll rest for a bit, and we can talk later.”

Zhou Lan nodded, asking, ”Are you going out for a walk later? Or what’s your plan?”

”I probably won’t go out today, take Xiaoyun with you for a walk.” Zhou Yun said, ”After what happened, I want some quiet time in my room.”

Zhou Lan nodded.

At the end of the corridor, there were still two bodyguards arranged by D standing guard.

Previously, Zhou Yun was attacked while staying in a hotel in the United States, so D empathetically arranged 24-hour security.

Zhou Lan was assured.

”Alright, take a good rest, call me if anything comes up, and also, just look at the online information and don’t respond.” Zhou Lan said, ”We have posted an official statement from our studio.”

”Okay.”

After closing the door, Zhou Yun placed the suitcase to the side and lay on the bed.

She closed her eyes, replaying everything that just happened in her mind.

Every scene emerged in her mind, along with every emotion she experienced.

She felt much better now.

Zhou Yun could now calmly recall the attacker’s gaze.

After a careful recollection, Zhou Yun confirmed that she had never had any interaction with the attacker, and had never met, nor were there any past grievances.

If so, why did that person look at her with such a hostile, successful vengeance-like look?

Zhou Yun couldn’t figure it out.

This made her restless.

Actually, Zhou Lan hadn’t let go of this matter either.

In the car on the way to the hotel, she made many calls, seeking out people who could help.

Eventually, she did find someone.

This was a private investigator introduced by a friend, who specializes in investigating matters for people.

Zhou Lan arranged to meet this person at the hotel.

The person was a mixed-race with chocolate-colored skin, very handsome but with a devil-may-care attitude.

His name was Jerold Sanchi, seemingly in his early thirties, with very bright eyes that were unforgettable.

”Hello, I’m Zhou Lan.” Zhou Lan shook hands, ”You speak English, right?”

She used English.

Jerold Sanchi nodded, looked at Zhou Lan, and with a smile showing no concealment of his interest in her, said: ”Are you Chinese?”

”Yes.” Zhou Lan nodded.
