Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1454: Chapter 748: Investigation_3

His real purpose is to frighten her, to make her fearful.

Who is doing this? Or is there actually another motive?

...

Zhou Yun doesn’t dare to tell Song Chi about this, fearing that Song Chi will worry for her, or even fly over directly.

Should she tell Zhou Lan?

Zhou Yun hesitated for only a second on this question.

She definitely had to tell Zhou Lan.

However, Zhou Yun worries that if she seriously conveys her recent fear and anxiety to Zhou Lan, Zhou Lan might adjust her upcoming work plans.

Zhou Yun doesn’t think she should reduce her workload now; on the contrary, she needs more fulfilling work to prevent herself from dwelling in this state.

It’s best to join a crew and film.

To project herself into another character.

Zhou Yun is rational and has even thought of a way to dissolve this awful state.

But Zhou Yun’s extreme, even slightly pathological rationality is, in itself, the greatest irrationality.

Zhou Yun paced slowly in her hotel room.

...

Jerold Sanzi contacted his friend in the police.

”Zhou Yun? Oh, the Chinese actress?”

To Jerold Sanzi’s surprise, his friend didn’t wait for him to explain further before identifying her directly.

Jerold Sanzi asked, ”Is this Chinese actress very famous? You actually know her.”

”Oh my, she was nominated for the Golden Ball last year, didn’t you know?” This police friend was evidently a movie enthusiast, ”And you’ve seen her movie.”

”Huh?”

Jerold Sanzi couldn’t remember when he had ever watched a movie featuring this Chinese actress.

”’Behind the Scenes,’ don’t you remember? You even called the character she played a lunatic.”

”Oh, oh.” Jerold Sanzi recalled, ”Alright, I did watch that movie, but I... uh, well, I didn’t particularly like it. Okay, back to business, it’s fine that you know her, she got into some trouble today here, did you know?”

”You mean the incident at the airport? Of course, we all know about it. It made the news.”

Jerold Sanzi said, ”What’s the situation with the attacker?”

”Hey, bro, why are you so interested in this? Don’t you usually look down on these celebrities and artists?”

”I never look down on them, you’re spouting nonsense again, what’s wrong, is it inconvenient to disclose the situation?”

”This guy was just brought to us.”

”Hmm-hmm?”

”But, brother, although he’s quite nasty, he didn’t cause any actual harm, so we can only educate him, there’s nothing we can do.”

Jerold Sanzi said, ”No problem, what does he do for a living? Does he have a proper job?”

”Not now, he was an editor at a publishing house, but he was just fired last month.”

”So, he reacted by taking revenge on society?”

”Maybe, but the reason he was fired was because he previously posted some racially discriminatory comments online, and faced a lot of backlash, which led to his dismissal.”

”Could you send me his Twitter account?” Jerold Sanzi asked, ”I’ve got a gig that requires investigating him.”

”Though he’s a jerk, according to regulations, I can’t give you Luke Serada’s Twitter handle.”

”OK, fine, you’re still as unsympathetic as ever.”

”Can’t help it, it’s the job.”

After hanging up, Jerold Sanzi quickly opened Twitter, and searched for Luke Serada’s name. Based on his past employment at a publishing house and the fact he posted discriminatory remarks, Jerold soon found Luke Serada’s account.

Coincidentally, five minutes ago, he had just posted a selfie outside the police station.

Jerold Sanzi browsed through some of Luke Serada’s previous posts and discovered a bar he frequently visited.

He got into his car and drove to the bar.

In the afternoon, the bar was not crowded, and the owner was sitting behind the counter looking at his phone.

Jerold Sanzi knocked on the table, ”Hey!”

The owner looked up, a tall, middle-aged man.

He glanced at Jerold Sanzi and asked, ”What would you like to drink?”

”A beer.” Jerold Sanzi said, pulling out his phone to find the photo of Luke Serada’s recent post. When the owner brought the drink, he showed him the photo, ”Do you know this guy?”

The owner took a quick look at the photo and said, ”I don’t recognize him.”

”Luke Serada.” Jerold Sanzi tapped the table, pulled out his business card from his wallet, along with a ten US dollar bill, ”He’s a regular at your place, I know you know him. When you see him, pass this to him, a word, tell him Jerold Sanzi wants to do business with him.”
