Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1482: Chapter 761: Good Flavor (Part 2)

When she went back to acting in chick flicks, the audience couldn’t accept it.

Of course, Zhou Lan wasn’t suggesting that Zhou Yun takes on chick flicks.

It’s just that the themes and genres of films are diverse, like ”Tokyo Family” or ”One Day,” films that Zhou Yun is very interested in acting in.

Zhou Lan hopes that Zhou Yun’s career path won’t be limited by some external factors.

”By the way, how’s the post-production of ’Female Assassin’ going?” Zhou Lan asked, ”Earlier, they mentioned wanting to release it during the Spring Festival next year. Can they make it in time?”

Wen Bing shook her head: ”No, it’s been decided to reschedule. I had already told Yao Yuanfeng that it wouldn’t be ready, but he insisted on reserving a slot.”

Zhou Lan said: ”I thought so, just finished filming, and aiming for the Spring Festival release. The post-production of this film shouldn’t be that easy.”

”Yes.” Wen Bing nodded.

Zhou Lan sighed as she spoke.

”Actually, ’Falling Leaves’ has been edited for a long time, but it still hasn’t been released. It’s quite a headache for me.”

”Hmm? What’s wrong with this film?” Wen Bing asked.

Zhou Lan said: ”I don’t know the specific reasons, anyway it hasn’t been scheduled, and we’re worried about releasing it abroad as well, fearing that piracy might affect the domestic box office.”

Wen Bing asked, ”Is it an issue with approval?”

”Not sure, Shi Luoqi hasn’t mentioned anything.” Zhou Lan sighed again as she spoke.

...

Audition.

Huang Zicheng walked out with confidence.

The expressions of the people outside were varied.

Huang Zicheng’s demeanor made them feel uneasy, worried that they might already be out of the competition.

He didn’t look at anyone else’s expressions and left the audition site straight away.

Zheng Xiaojue was waiting for him at the door.

Seeing this, Huang Zicheng quickened his steps and asked, ”Have you been standing outside all along? Why didn’t you wait for me inside?”

Zheng Xiaojue said, ”None of them have an agent or assistant with them. If I go in with you, it makes us seem too high-profile. There’s no need. How did the audition go?”

”I think it went pretty well.” Huang Zicheng nodded with a smile, ”The producer seems quite interested in me, asked me a lot of questions.”

Zheng Xiaojue gave him a thumbs up.

”Let’s wait for the good news.”

Huang Zicheng nodded brightly.

”By the way, Xiaoju, are you free tonight? Would you like to join me and Lu Zhongting for hot pot?”

Zheng Xiaojue immediately said, ”Lu Zhongting is about to join the filming crew. Is he still eating hot pot?”

Huang Zicheng hurriedly said, ”No, no, we’re having a mixed pot. He’s only having the clear broth.”

Zheng Xiaojue: ”That’s fine then.”

Huang Zicheng: ”So it’s a plan, we’ll have hot pot together tonight.”

”Got it.” Zheng Xiaojue nodded, looking at Huang Zicheng’s sunny face, feeling joyful inside as well.

At the beginning, when Zheng Xiaojue became the agent for Huang Zicheng and Lu Zhongting, she was quite nervous, since she was transitioning from being an assistant to taking responsibility on her own, but gradually, she found her rhythm.

The biggest challenge for Zheng Xiaojue as the agent for Huang Zicheng and Lu Zhongting was the changed attitude of collaborators.

Everyone was still friendly towards her, but that goodwill wasn’t enough to make them willing to hand over resources directly.

It all required Zheng Xiaojue to work hard on each project.

What made Zheng Xiaojue happy was that both Huang Zicheng and Lu Zhongting treated her with respect and didn’t consider her unprofessional just because she used to be an assistant.

This was what Zheng Xiaojue had been worried about before.

...

Zhou Yun didn’t expect Zhou Lan to come help Wen Bing as a spokesperson.

After Zhou Lan finished speaking, Zhou Yun fell into hesitation and contemplation.

This reaction from Zhou Yun was within Zhou Lan’s expectations.

”Filming this movie, as Wen Bing mentioned, is not like ’Female Assassin’ where you need to create another character. From what I understand from Wen Bing, it’s more like a movie-style reality show. You don’t need to act as someone else. Whatever your state is, just be that way,” Zhou Lan said. ”This kind of filming style is something only a director like Wen Bing would dare to attempt. If you don’t act, Wen Bing indeed won’t find another trusted actress to collaborate with him.”

Zhou Yun sighed.

”Sister Lan, do you really hope I take on this film?”

”I think shooting this movie might be beneficial for your own peace of mind,” Zhou Lan said. ”You’re too busy and too tired. This movie happens to be shot in the countryside, and the entire story is about a girl living a countryside life, alone cooking, eating, just daily life.”

Zhou Yun nodded.

”Alright, I’ll think about it a bit more.”

Actually, after rejecting Wen Bing, she had been asking herself whether that decision was right.

She was also reluctant to miss the opportunity to collaborate with Wen Bing.

She didn’t hesitate for too long. The next morning, she called Wen Bing to take on the movie.

Wen Bing was overjoyed and immediately contacted Yao Yuanfeng.

Yao Yuanfeng was dumbfounded.

After hanging up the phone, he was bewildered, wondering whether Zhou Yun blindly trusted Wen Bing or what?

Why did she agree?

But since that’s the case, Yao Yuanfeng had nothing more to say.

Even if he was unwilling, he still gave the green light to Wen Bing’s film.

Zhou Yun went to the countryside with Wen Bing.

The official start was still two weeks away, but before that, time was tight, and Wen Bing needed to finalize the shooting locations.

In the script, Zhou Yun spends most of her time living in a small farmhouse.

Zhou Yun, along with Wen Bing and the production team, visited several villages and checked out over a dozen previously selected houses. Finally, Wen Bing asked Zhou Yun where she most wanted to shoot.

Zhou Yun was fond of a courtyard with a big tree.

It was already autumn, but the big tree remained lush and full of foliage.

When Zhou Yun saw it, she imagined setting a small table underneath it, sitting in a rocking chair when the sun came out, brewing a pot of tea or sipping some plum wine. It was a delightful thought.
