Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1480: Chapter 760: Director and Actors_4

Zhou Lan hasn’t been without ideas; it’s just that in the film and television market, especially the film market, leading roles for women rarely come to Wang Jing.

No one thinks she can carry a show or the box office right now.

Even though Zhou Lan has called everyone, the best they are willing to offer is a decent supporting role.

Zhou Lan herself is wondering if her expectations are too high.

But no matter what...

Whenever Zhou Lan thinks of Wang Jing refusing Wen Bing’s new film, she can’t help but feel a sense of helplessness.

The team is not easy to manage.

Zhou Lan is also glad she hasn’t mentioned this to Wen Bing yet, otherwise if she had and Wen Bing agreed, and then Wang Jing refused, that would be a mess.

Zhou Lan pondered the issue while driving.

If Wang Jing won’t act, then what about Yuk Chu?

Zhou Lan quickly dismissed this idea because Yuk Chu is currently in a production team.

She’s a workaholic, taking on one project after another, filling up her schedule completely.

Yuk Chu never planned to take the high-end route, nor did Zhou Lan ever intend it.

Yuk Chu’s start was different from Wang Jing’s; she is the type with an average starting point and luck, without outstanding talent or appearance. She works tirelessly from one film to the next, and her fame grows slowly. If it weren’t for ”Deep Sea” at the beginning of the year boosting her reputation, she would probably still only be a third-tier actress.

This is why Yuk Chu is currently taking the ”workaholic” approach.

She can’t let herself disappear from the public view for too long; she needs to maintain her current fame and exposure.

Otherwise, she might fade away over time.

None of the actresses Zhou Lan manages can take on this role, so what about others?

Zhou Lan hasn’t shelved the project just because her actresses can’t act in it.

She went over all the famous actresses in the entertainment industry in her mind, calculated carefully, and then called Wen Bing to arrange a meeting.

Wen Bing, troubled about whether to find someone else for the film, received Zhou Lan’s call, puzzled about what she wanted to discuss, and went there full of doubt.

”Director, long time no see.” Zhou Lan greeted Wen Bing warmly, ”I got you a gift from my last trip to France.”

Zhou Lan handed over a small packaged bag.

Wen Bing took it in surprise and asked, ”Oh, you got me a gift? What is it?”

Zhou Lan said, ”A tie clip.”

Wen Bing: ”Nice. I’ve never bought one of these before.”

”I figured, but you’ll still need it for some formal occasions in the future.” Zhou Lan said, ”Have a seat, what would you like to drink?”

”An Americano.”

”Alright.”

Zhou Lan ordered for Wen Bing and then looked at him with a smile.

”I heard you’re about to start shooting a new film?”

Wen Bing heard this, smiled, and asked, ”Did Zhou Yun tell you that?”

”Yep.” Zhou Lan said, ”You know Zhou Yun cares a lot about your affairs, even if she’s not acting, she’s worried that her absence might upset you, which is why I wanted to meet and explain. I don’t know if she’s mentioned it to you, but she had a bit of an issue recently, feeling very low for no apparent reason, and her temper got out of control. It’s all due to her working continuously over the past two years.”

Wen Bing nodded, ”I know, she told me. I understand. I actually think she’s really tired. She’s been acting for only a few years, and she’s already done almost ten films.”

Zhou Lan nodded, ”Exactly, otherwise how could she turn down your film?”
