Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1473: Chapter 759: Some Disturbances

The lawsuit filed by Zhou Yun against Litai Media is not only attracting attention within the Asian entertainment industry, but even the media in Europe and America are closely following this matter.

On one hand, it’s because Zhou Yun’s current international fame has brought her into the spotlight of gossip news in various countries. On the other hand, this matter is also linked with William Stanthorpe.

William Stanthorpe is a well-known figure in the entertainment gossip circles in Europe and America, being a young CEO frequently associated with rumored girlfriends in the entertainment industry. He is known to everyone.

Getting involved with this person will surely boost your fame.

However, Zhou Yun is the first to file a lawsuit against media regarding a rumor with him.

This made gossip media in different countries feel like they had come across something novel, fueling their efforts to cover this event.

Even Elizabeth heard about it and sent Zhou Yun an email asking what was going on.

Zhou Yun simply explained the situation, telling her not to worry as it was just a small issue.

Today, she also scheduled a meeting with Tim Lang to discuss the movie ”Killing Song”.

Tim Lang is the director of ”Killing Song”, but until now, they had only met via video call and communicated through emails.

There are still about two months before ”Killing Song” begins shooting, and Zhou Yun had long been discussing the film with Tim Lang.

Zhou Yun had received the script, both the initial version and the revised ones.

What surprised Zhou Yun was that the script for ”Killing Song” was very neat, and there was more than one or two scriptwriters.

In domestic films, the scriptwriters are usually just one or two people, and if it’s two, it’s often a mentor guiding a student.

But when she inquired, she found that in Hollywood, there are different responsibilities for scriptwriters; some only write outlines, some focus on humor, some on emotional lines, and others on storylines. Especially the ”three-act structure”, the setup, confrontation, and resolution, with comedic beats distributed very evenly.

The script becomes a technical work of collaboration among multiple people.

The key is that typically, such multi-authored scripts often end up as a mishmash, filled with different people’s ideas.

But ”Killing Song” is different, so cohesive as if it’s written by one person and very tidy.

Zhou Yun couldn’t help but marvel; in terms of industrialization and commercialization, domestic films indeed have room to catch up with Hollywood.

Tim Lang is a textbook example of a Hollywood commercial film director.

He is quite famous, having directed many high-grossing commercial films, particularly action films.

This time, he’s directing ”Killing Song” reportedly because he appreciated the original novel.

When Zhou Yun talked with him, he said, ”After reading the novel, I really wanted to turn this story into a film. I’ve always loved these thrilling and exciting survival stories.”

Zhou Yun also bought and read the original novel and liked it a lot.

She isn’t just an actress who loves films exploring human nature or life; she also loves genre films, enjoys watching them, and often wants to act in them herself.

Even if someone says it’s a pity for an actress like Zhou Yun to act in a movie like ”Killing Song”, she remains unfazed.

She wants to shoot the films she wants, without being swayed by others’ opinions.

Moreover, such a movie holds a special significance for her.

This will be her first proper English-language film, and moreover, a true big production.

For a Chinese actress, this is a significant step forward.

Zhou Yun never thought Hollywood was necessarily a better avenue for her career, but she clearly knew that if she wanted to make further progress, if she wanted her career to reach a new peak, she should step onto the world stage and present herself to the global audience.

”Killing Song” is just such an opportunity.

...

On the set of the movie ”Forbidden Army”, after finishing a scene, Song Chi waved to Wu Chengbao, who had arrived at the set ten minutes ago, and the two of them headed to his trailer together.

”Why the sudden visit?”

Wu Chengbao said, ”Something urgent has come up, so I came to see you.”

”What’s the matter?” Song Chi looked at Wu Chengbao with some surprise.

Normally, Song Chi delegates company matters to Wu Chengbao, and it’s rare for Wu Chengbao to come over and consult him about any specific issue.
