Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1478: Chapter 760: Director and Actor (2)

Wen Bing said, ”I...”

He suddenly didn’t know what to say.

He scratched his head.

Zhou Yun said, ”I’m willing to accompany you to make this film, but consider moving it back a bit. I really don’t want to continue working non-stop.”

Wen Bing frowned.

He hesitated for a moment and said, ”I’m afraid I won’t have time in the next two years. There are several films waiting for me to shoot.”

The two looked at each other.

But Wen Bing didn’t hesitate for long and said, ”It’s okay, if you don’t want to shoot now, then don’t.”

Zhou Yun felt apologetic.

Wen Bing said, ”It’s alright, I’ll take a look again.”

He left Zhou Yun’s place, feeling a bit melancholic.

Having just settled things with Yao Yuanfeng, he didn’t expect to encounter difficulties with Zhou Yun.

If Zhou Yun can’t shoot now, by next year Wen Bing will have to shoot the second part of ”Two tigers” and start working on the second part of ”Female Assassin”.

These are projects that cannot be delayed; the release dates are set.

So, will this movie still be filmed?

If not filmed now, it will have to wait two more years.

Get someone else to film it?

This thought appeared in Wen Bing’s mind.

For his films, Zhou Yun was always the first choice for female roles.

From the beginning of his filmmaking, the female lead hasn’t changed.

Wen Bing wasn’t confident enough to switch to another actress.

Because stories without detailed plotlines require a strong understanding between the director and the actor.

If they can’t trust each other, it absolutely won’t be filmed well.

Wen Bing also didn’t have another actress he trusted as much.

After sending Wen Bing off, Zhou Yun found herself caught in a dilemma.

How could she not want to work with Wen Bing?

Had it not been for her recent mental and emotional state making her apprehensive, she would have agreed without hesitation.

In the evening, Zhou Yun had dinner with Zhou Lan and talked about the issue.

Upon hearing it, Zhou Lan’s eyes immediately lit up.

”How about letting Xiao Jing play the role?” she asked.

Zhou Yun hesitated, ”Is it appropriate? Wen Bing came to me for the role, I declined and then pushed Xiao Jing there.”

”Isn’t it because you can’t perform? If you can’t, let Xiao Jing try,” Zhou Lan said, ”Besides, with such a good opportunity, maybe Xiao Jing could bring back several Movie Queen nominations.”

Zhou Lan was entirely focused on these aspects.

Zhou Yun said, ”Then why don’t you contact Wen Bing and see if he’s willing.”

Zhou Lan immediately nodded and said, ”Alright.”

...

Last month, Wang Jing starred in a play.

This was a web drama she filmed last year.

It made no splash, and many even criticized Wang Jing’s poor acting.

Though no one around said anything, Wang Jing knew that many were saying if she hadn’t acted with Zhou Yun in ”Behind the Scenes,” she would still be an unknown.

In Chengqian Entertainment, many envied her.

Her situation was already awkward.

Her agent contract was with Chengqian Entertainment, but because Zhou Lan and Zhou Yun formed a studio, her agent was also Zhou Lan, making her feel caught between two sides.

Ironically, Chengqian Entertainment had far more female actors in reserve compared to male actors, and with the resources from Zhou Lan and Zhou Yun’s studio, Chengqian Entertainment’s resources barely reached Wang Jing, and they even hoped Wang Jing could help the newcomers at Chengqian Entertainment.

This idea was strongly opposed by Zhou Lan.

What a joke, Wang Jing herself is still in her rising phase, not yet a big name, how could she be expected to lead newcomers?

In short, Wang Jing’s development now seemed stuck.

She had some fame and status, with one foot in the film industry, but not fully inside, and the films being offered to her couldn’t compare to ”Behind the Scenes,” even if it was a low-budget independent film, as long as the script was good, Zhou Lan was willing to accept it, but no scripts were coming her way.

But to just abandon this slight fame and return to the previous web drama circles to play a normal lead, Zhou Lan felt would waste the boost ”Behind the Scenes” gave to Wang Jing.

Now, Zhou Lan was choosing roles for Wang Jing with ”prestige” as the focus.

She hadn’t discussed this with Zhou Yun.

Because Zhou Lan knew Zhou Yun would definitely disagree with her perspective.

Zhou Yun often said nothing is more important than the script and the play itself.

Zhou Yun could say this.

But Zhou Lan, as an agent, couldn’t afford to be so idealistic.
