Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1485: Chapter 673: Preparation

Everyone says Zhou Jianfeng carries a bit of star luck.

Partnering with Zhou Yun to co-star in ”Under the Grand Dress,” skyrocketing to fame, the low-budget youth-themed film he starred in previously also made a splash, reaching over a hundred million in box office revenue and attracting industry attention.

Within a year, Zhou Jianfeng’s popularity soared as if mounted on a rocket.

A rising star.

In just six months, Zhou Jianfeng’s new endorsements broke single digits, his money-making ability making everyone green with envy.

This also made other management companies jealous.

When Zhou Yun established her own studio, many were ready to mock He Yong, waiting for Chengqian’s profits to decline.

Who knew, He Yong’s luck was so good that he immediately brought Zhou Jianfeng back into the spotlight.

Nowadays, the income brought by a popular celebrity can easily account for half of a company’s earnings; it’s not an exaggeration.

With Zhou Jianfeng’s rise, from appearance fees to endorsement fees, from commercial performances to various other incomes, tens of millions casually credited to the account.

And within He Yong’s company, there are still Xu Siyao, Yuk Chu, Wang Jing, Zhang Mo—these similarly frontline actors.

Especially Yuk Chu.

This ”hard-working lady” basically hasn’t taken a break, filming one drama after another, shooting commercials, recording programs, doing live streams, etc. In terms of workload, Zhou Yun and Wang Jing combined can’t match her alone.

In fact, Yuk Chu is the third highest earning artist in Chengqian Entertainment this year.

If it weren’t for Yuk Chu having a child in between, delaying her most popular period, she would probably have been the top money-maker.

Why does He Yong want to partner with Yao Yuanfeng?

Because He Yong feels a sense of crisis.

Now, indeed, the company has a batch of rising actors, but these actors can’t give him a sense of security.

Moreover, among these actors, apart from Xu Siyao, Zhou Jianfeng, and Zhang Mo, all are deeply tied with Zhou Yun.

Just like Yao Yuanfeng said, if asked to choose between him and Zhou Yun, He Yong genuinely isn’t confident they would choose him.

Both Zhou Jianfeng and Zhang Mo have partnered with Zhou Yun, especially Zhou Jianfeng, whose popularity soared due to his role in ”Under the Grand Dress” with Zhou Yun, forming significant connections.

What sets He Yong apart from other management company bosses is that he doesn’t blindly believe his artists will always follow and trust him.

Everyone is doing business, considering interests.

Now between him and Zhou Yun, it’s Zhou Yun who can offer more resources that they want.

This is why He Yong needs to continually cultivate new talent.

If he hadn’t launched Xu Siyao, Zhang Mo, and Zhou Jianfeng earlier, it would basically be Zhou Yun’s dominion now, with no other noteworthy artists in Chengqian Entertainment.

Besides, He Yong now has one more idea.

He wants to sign singers.

Due to the music market, management contracts for singers are generally not as emphasized as those for actors.

Still, He Yong needs to expand into new markets.

This idea came from Zhou Lan’s studio.

He knows Zhou Lan signed many public figures for business contracts, many of whom aren’t artists but renowned figures from various fields.

For instance, last week, Zhou Lan signed a business contract with a writer.

These figures can’t bring very high economic returns, but many small gains accumulate substantially, and most importantly, they aren’t competitors of artists; it’s an entirely new market.

Putting everything else aside, He Yong truly admires Zhou Lan’s approach.

Zhou Lan’s studio currently lacks the might to compete with major companies. The resources she has aren’t sufficient to sign more actors, so she straightforwardly taps into new markets.

This is an incredibly smart strategy.

He Yong doesn’t intend to compete with Zhou Lan for this small market; he just drew inspiration, sparking many new ideas.

While he was pondering, the secretary knocked and entered.

”Zhou Jianfeng has arrived.”

”Invite him in.”

Zhou Jianfeng walked in.

He was alone.

Seeing him, He Yong immediately flashed a warm smile, got up, approached him, patted his shoulder, and said, ”You’ve been working hard lately, tired from recording the program, right?”

Zhou Jianfeng had just finished recording a travel-themed variety show, lasting fifteen days.

Zhou Jianfeng had gotten a bit tanned.

He smiled wryly, saying, ”Boss, I don’t want to record such programs next time; it’s too exhausting.”
