Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 750: Chapter 509: Who Cares About Them_3

...

Sunday, late at night.

Zhou Yun, who hadn’t logged onto Weibo for a while, came online and posted a message: To those who called me fake, spread lies about me, and wrote essays to slander me, I only have one gesture for you.

Animated GIF: Zhou Yun standing at a second-floor window, looking down, and spitting.

That was the ending scene from ”Behind the Scenes” which she used here.

Zhou Yun’s Weibo post was like a stone stirring up a thousand ripples, causing the traffic that had decreased with the late night to surge instantly once more.

Following Zhou Yun’s Weibo post came a statement from Chengqian Entertainment, announcing a lawsuit against several marketing accounts that spread false essays and rumors.

The sudden tough stance left many people at a loss.

Zhou Yun had been out of the spotlight for so long, so long that everyone thought she would not stand up to respond to this matter.

Even with the release of ”Behind the Scenes,” she did not appear, did not promote it on Weibo, giving them the illusion that Zhou Yun tacitly acknowledged their accusations due to her guilty conscience.

Who knew that tonight, Zhou Yun suddenly flew off the handle.

What they didn’t expect even more was that, less than three minutes after Zhou Yun posted that Weibo, she posted another one: I didn’t respond before because I didn’t want my personal controversies to affect the release of ”Behind the Scenes.” Who knew, when I stepped back, some would take an inch and push a foot; when I momentarily yielded, some would overstep their boundaries. There’s no need to endure it any longer. Those who say I’m faking it, those who say I’m cheating, those who say I’m a puppet controlled by the agency, talk is cheap, bring out the evidence, bring it on, I’ll give you a million on the spot, everyone is my witness, just produce the evidence, if I can’t refute it, if I can’t prove it’s false, that million is yours!

Zhou Yun’s second Weibo was even more shocking than the first.

Her move of slinging money around was domineering and sharp, putting a knife directly to the heart of the rumor mongers.

That night, Zhou Yun shot up the trending search list with lightning speed.

Zhou Yun followed up with a third Weibo: My initial silence was to minimize the impact on the box office of ”Behind the Scenes,” but since it was in vain, let’s take advantage of this trending heat to advertise ”Behind the Scenes.” Don’t say I am boasting about my own wares. ”Behind the Scenes”, a winner of the Jury Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival main competition! Attractive, thrilling, worth stepping into the cinema for!

Zhou Yun’s three consecutive Weibo posts blew up the entire entertainment industry.

The next day, Monday morning, almost everyone’s phones received notifications of Zhou Yun’s late-night aggressive response.

On the subway, in cars, on buses, during this concentrated time, everyone was reviewing Zhou Yun’s three posts from last night.

Once at the office, before the weekly meeting, everyone gathered to gossip, and Zhou Yun’s matter was the topic at the forefront.

And inevitably, ”Behind the Scenes” had also become the central topic of discussion.

The real-time box office for ”Behind the Scenes” did not explode, but Monday evening’s presales saw a timely downpour.

At noon, Shi Luoqi sent a message in the ”Behind the Scenes” production group: Today’s box office for ”Behind the Scenes,” including the presales, has already broken 15 million!

million, for a movie, this number is not remotely a proud box office figure.

But for a movie that only had a box office of 23 million on Sunday, to grab 15 million by noon on Monday, this trend signifies another tendency.

Most crucially, today’s scheduled screenings were already set, and there wasn’t much room to add extra shows.

The rate of increase for ”Behind the Scenes” box office was also limited.

The key point here is that cinema managers will see the topicality of the film, and the potential box office explosion due to Zhou Yun’s Weibo last night.

This will affect the scheduling for the next few days.

Especially tomorrow.

This is of paramount importance.

Of course, what everyone talked about the most were Zhou Yun’s three Weibo posts. Such a tough stance, even carelessly throwing out a million as a bet, we’ll see if anyone can come up with evidence!

In fact, this attitude had convinced many people—Zhou Yun dared to make such a declaration because she had regained her confidence; nobody could produce that evidence.

She hadn’t done it.

That was the signal her three Weibo posts tried to convey.

All those smearing and rumors were false.

By the afternoon, Zhou Yun’s online social media reputation had flipped like a pancake.

Everyone began praising her.

Brave, genuine, daring to say and do.

These labels were being re-attached to her, everyone enthusiastically discussed her, and she once again became the incredible, talented actress.

In the evening, Zhou Yun went to a cinema in Shanghai, surprising the audience of a screening of ”Behind the Scenes.”

The roadshow resumed.
